The Duchess of Clarence is beautiful, bored...and out for revenge.
Still reeling from her divorce from a high-ranking royal, she is threatening to expose secrets that could threaten the Crown.
Someone needs her silenced.
It is a job for The Vengeance Man.
A former SAS soldier, he is determined to put the treacherous head of the Ministry of Defense, Noel Malcolm, in his place.
But when The Vengeance Man assaults Malcolm in his office, the Special Forces are not amused.
They send him to join the shadowy MI6 Special Reinforcement Unit, known as ‘The Increment’. And The Vengeance Man is given a license to kill…
His first official target is the Duchess.
Only she and her publisher have a copy of a manuscript, which if published, could be a dangerous threat to the Establishment.
Can The Vengeance Man force the Duchess to keep quiet?
Or will The Unit be too late….?

This novel is set somewhere around halfway through book 1. Fritz zI drafted in to the Unit which is a part of the SAS which is loaned out to government departments like MI5. The book follows the progress of an operation to limit the fallout from a kiss and tell book being written by a former Royal. There is a second strand to the story which involves Fritz having a running battle with a group of gypsies who are terrorising the village where he is staying during the main covert operation. All in all a good book with plenty of action.
A great read. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Lots of action and great characters. I like the fact that it takes the moral high ground. I will now to read the next book in the series, The Hit List. A big thank you to the author John Macrae. Keep up the good work. A well deserved 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Better than the second book in the series. More action and intrigue and more pages. Fritz certainly keeps everyone on their toes, tough man like Reacher, not to be messed with. Looking forward to book 4.
I absolutely love this Vengeance Man series. I took a flyer on the first book and am so glad I did. I have loved reading Andy McNab over the years and John MacRae is a carbon copy. If you are a spy/spec ops fan then this author is for you! A very solid 5 stars across the board.... A very fast and entertaining read that will keep you glued from start to finish! Give it a go...
Welcome to the unit; a place where you can get the best of training in everything you need to survive the action of a good agent. Such is the story you're going to be reading. Put a dedicated man in situations where he can not escape doing what is right and ends up in more trouble for his actions. Hang on, this is a rough ride you just started. Thanks for another great read.
Ok so the hero is a bit James bond-ish but he is believable sort of. He is out manouvered kept in the dark and beaten up from time to time but that's ok he is not a silly super hero. He has the affair but didn't end up with the girl and that's ok. Looking forward to the next to see how or if he develops into something credibly lifelike or a paper, literally, character.
