Pruning & Training offers an excellent introduction to the eponymous subject material. The book provides concise but clear overviews and step-by-step explanations of many techniques, methods, and styles, along with discussions of applicability to various categories of plants (e.g., ornamental trees, climbing plants, tree fruits, soft fruit). An aesthetically pleasing mixture of photographs and detailed illustrations enhances the text. Hobby gardeners and serious horticulturists alike will find much to enjoy in this short yet surprisingly informative guide.
