Twenty-one year-old Teal Rhines is a one-time child star turned Hollywood darling. She's loved by the public and media alike for her tenacity and strength. Orphaned and abandoned as a baby, emancipated at sixteen, she is a role model to many. Now, as her new television show is taking off, her future looks bright.

But when her new bodyguard, the attractive Elias Bane, shows interest in her, she never dreams that he is a part of the same supernatural world that her mother fled. The mother she never knew. Like many adopted children, Teal Rhines has always wondered about her biological parents. Who they were. Why they'd abandoned her. In all of her imaginings, she's never gotten close to the truth.

But when the truth is revealed, loyalties are tested. Love is put on trial. And danger is closer than she realizes.

ok I have no idea why the author wrote this book the way it us. it seems like a romance novel half the time. The other half just a actress doing her job and bodyguards on a constant basis with her. yes she gets attacked and hurt a couple times but then comes super body guard who turns out in the last 3chapters, Teal finds out. But all the while, she's falling for him. just a intense feeling successes met him. so 3/4 is her fantasizing about him. finally she's with him, the next to the last chapter then she gets attacked again, he saves her. this is when she finds.dsl out he's vampire. she takes this well and doesn't care then has sex who him, again,he did have sex with him before the attack. then last chapter she finds out she's a vampire Hunter. no wait a ninja vampire Hunter. the girl won trains constantly, says she can take care of herself but never does and gets beat on. it's stupid. plus if she's a hunter, raised that way or not, if she trains all the time you'd think that natural ability would kick in right? well apparently not. this book.seems ok at first but a lot of contradictions, then it makes a complete turn like it's a different book altogether. just totally screwed up writing. I can only hope the next book she got what she really wanted to write about straight and got to the point without taking on a roller coaster ride that never ends but does a one 180. I gave it a 2 star for ok writing , as in I only came across a few mistakes. if the plot would have been written right it could have been a really good book but it was just too mixed up.
I just don't know how I feel about this book besides it was a kind of a fast read but so confusing with the jumping around. Then the end just came out of nowhere. she should have introduced the Hunter thing so much earlier. at last hints at it. but nothing.
so you decide. you might like the acting part, the parents that ripped Teal off that she uses, the sex fantasies, then the actual sex between Teal and Alias, but the ninja hunters I don't get at all. the vampire fine but I guessed that anyways. too it's for me.

This book was all over he place. I find it hard to believe that these so called "hunters" couldn't figure out that she was this person they had been searching 20 something years for when she is this big movie star and grew up all over the silver screen. Pppffftt and then there was zero mention of anything paranormal until the end of the book. It's like the author threw it in as an after thought.

This was such a good read! The action, emotion and conection between Teal and her bodygaurd Elias is so down to earth and refreshing! The ending was a little confusing for me mainly because if how abrupt it was and the lack of details the rest of the book provided.

well i may finish this eventually but for now, it is a DNF. I liked the first part of the story okay, the writing was a bit rambly and all over the place but i found the main character to be quirky and independent, which are always good traits in a female protagonist. Although i liked Teal, the story was never really there for me. Not to mention the fact that i read 85% of the book before anything remotely supernatural happened, unless you count that whole "somebody's been in my house" thing. Elias is dreamy, but i am just not really into the whole vampire thing right now.

p.s. i remembered another thing that kind of peeved me off - Teal kept having these really vivid dreams, and unless there is something more to that farther on in the book that i am too busy/lazy/bored to read, it was a real waste of my time. I don't wanna hear about your wet dreams, HELLO!

I don't know what to think about this book other than the beginning and the endings are way off from one another. If you were to read the ending and then start this book you would think you were reading two different books.

Teal is an orphan - raised to be an actor by the parents who adopted her.

Each new role is a new chance to better her skills and make new friends - friends that she would do anything for.

Elias is her new bodyguard and she can't help but feel a pull to him the first time they meet and with each new encounter she can't help but feel like they belong together. That he needs her as much as she needs him - and not just in the bodyguard sort of way.

And she was right... she just didn't know how right she was.

The only major negative about this book was that it ended right when we got to the parts that I wanted to read about.

Alright, since no one has said anything about this yet, i will.

I CANNOT get over the fact that the cover for the cover of Marked a zoomed-in and color-overlayed (?) version of Gracen Miller's, Pandora's Box, from her Road to Hell trilogy.

I dont know if my feelings about this are even justifiable, but regardless, this SINCERELY bothers me.

I ADORE Madison from Miller's The Road to Hell series. So much so that I don't want to read Marked, no matter how much it pops up in my recommended feed, for fear of ruining my image of Madison. Mind you, I dont usually correlate my imagination-fueled depiction of a character with the person (if there is one) on the cover. My Madison, however, is an exception. Thus, my immediate recognition (and intrigue) of Marked.

Warrented? Maybe not, but it is what it is.

If someone can offer an explanation, it would be much appreciated.

I read this in a single sitting... it's a well written, intriguing, quick read. While the plot is fairly transparent, there are a few twists and turns that will leave your mind reeling. I would definitely recommend this to the mature younger adult, and I can't wait to continue the series.

Teal is the most down to earth star you'd ever meet. Classy, respectful, and quite caring - she's not your average younger celebrity. She stands for what she believes in, and that's where her troubles begin... She's been condemned to around the clock security detail, and she's falling for her newest bodyguard, Elias. That man is trouble all on his own.

In the first chapter there are some convoluted sentences. The sudden transition from an everyday romance to a vampire story is to sudden. There was no suspicious actions or behavior to indicate a paranormal twist, other than some evening activities. With Elise being a night guard that was not very suspicious.

I couldn't connect to Teal in any way. Elias wasn't even really likeable. I liked Paul which was sad cuz he was a secondary character of no real importance. The twists in this were fine but Teals reaction to them was odd. Oh we just got chased by crazy masked ninjas and you just told me you were a vampire, her reaction ok let's have sex now. Plus all the sex scenes were odd and out of place.

I liked this book, though in the first couple of chapters there's a continuity error, but once you get passed that small glitch it's an enjoyable read.

The main characters were well written, and the cliff hanger ending worked well, though it was different to what I thought would happen. I'm not one for spoilers, but it's worth a read.

Very good, with some added depth to a vampire/human love story and mystery. The only problem I've found with e-books (other than a lot of typos and grammatical errors) is that they're too short. Just when this one got to a critical point, it ended and you have to get the next one. But this one was really good, so I'll probably get the second one.

Somehow I managed to read the whole book hoping it would get better but it actually got worse. The writing and story telling felt raw (not in a good way) and very little polished, the characters weren't developed much and the romance had zero chemistry. I am not going to continue the series.

it seemed to take forever to get to the point of the story... It was mostly about the budding romance an not so much about her "mysterious" past. won't be buying the rest of the series.
