Teacher, Teacher

Rate this book
Beth Conroy: young, beautiful, Tennessee Teacher of the Year—is shocked to learn she’s been accused of sexual misconduct with a student. Facing a scandal of epic proportions, Palmer School retains private investigator Dani Ripper to sort out the truth and protect their interests. The accuser’s mother gives Dani until noon tomorrow to show proof the charges are false, or she’ll call a city-wide press conference to level charges. As Dani begins her investigation she finds herself drawn to Beth, even as the evidence against her is mounting faster than Viagra test rabbits.

PRELIMINARY COMMENTS
I always finish John Locke’s books the same day I start them. He has a way of sucking you in. This novel was no different.

If you liked "Promise You Won’t Tell," you’ll love "Teacher, Teacher."

In another author’s hands, the seriousness of the subject would result in a dramatic, heavy-handed morality piece drenched in political correctness. But John seems to have mastered the art of tackling serious, topical subjects with laugh-out-loud humor, in-your-face energy, and razor-sharp dialogue.

Always explosive

You can never tell which way the plot is going to turn, plenty of twists to keep you interested through out the book.

Like all of John Locke's books, this one is a fast read. I have never read an author that can get you so engrossed in a book that time seems to stand still while you are reading it- and nothing else gets done until you do finish it. This one is no different. Though his Creed books are my favorite, Dani Ripper is a great character and Creed does show up to lend a helping hand to our heroine. In this book, Dani has her hands full, trying to figure out who is telling her the truth: the student who says she had an affair with the teacher or the teacher who says she has no idea what the student is talking about. Both sides have tons of proof that must be sifted through, and there is a deadline that Dani has to meet. Some old favorites show up to help her out, like Sophie, Creed, Callie, and her regular PI staff.

I definitely give this book the full 5 stars as this is full of the regular Locke twists and turns, snappy dialogue that makes the book fly by, and things you won't see coming until it is right in your face. Oh, and some things that show up and make you just shake your head. Also, there is a lot of sex in the book, so if you can't handle it, don't read it. Otherwise, grab up this book and devour it. Another great Dani Ripper book from John Locke!

P.I. Dani Ripper is on a molestation allegation case (say that fast three times!) at an all girls high school. True to form for author John Locke twists and turns keep you guessing the whole way through this book. With a couple tongue in cheek moments, the book is well paced as always.

I absolutely LOVE John Locke, however, this book was probably my least favorite so far. It might be that I am just not as enamored with Dani as I am with his other book characters, but who can beat Donovan Creed and Gideon Box! The book is entertaining and a steal for .99.

I really enjoy reading John Locke's books. This one has me laughing within minutes of starting.

I guess you could say. Dani Ripper is crude in more ways than one.

The way she goes around solving the crimes or investigations she is given is in some ways, that John Locke has written and described are extremely hilarious.

I'm not going any further as I don't wish to spoil your reading or be prevented from forming your own opinions on the accusations surrounding this latest PI case but I highly recommend you read this.

Wow, another great read from John Locke. I just love his crazy characters and their over the top, funny situations, they really are fantastic escapism!

The one thing I would flag up is that if you are reading the Donovan Creed series (I intend to, but have only read the first, Lethal People) it appears that there is a spoiler for Donovan Creed in this book and you should probably bear that in mind.

Fun fast read mystery, not art

Mysteries work well as novels because they keep the reader wondering about what is going on. This one had a lot of twists, maybe too many, but like the other dani ripper books the dialog is funny and it is quick to read. This one tried to put in more character relationship and growth which does not come off as serious or real because of the crazy things that are going on.

A great read, some hilariously funny moments with Dani's character. This is the second Dani Ripper story I've read and the stories seem to unfold in a way you weren't expecting. I will definitely read more by John Locke.

Dani Ripper is a good character in a weak book. I have read all of John Locke's book and they are strange but enteraining. This one falls a little short as the plot doesn't meet it's potential. I'm still a fan though.

Fast read. Not even sure what category to put John Locke in. Mystery? Crime? Detective? Sort of fits into all those.

A solid, if particularly more sordid, entry into the Dani Ripper series. Enjoyable, but nearly a candidate for the erotica genre.

Oh good God! I was very disappointed with Dani. Someone should have teach her something. To keep her hands off of someone. She is nothing, but a trouble to Sophie. :D

It wasn't something I usually read. So therefore I couldn't fully engage with the book.
There where some interesting parts as well.

Great funny sexy novel. A lot of sex-talk and zany one-liners. Fast reading and enjoyable rump. All these adjectives are dead on for John Locke and his heroine, Dani Ripper.
