Connie Mason or Cara Miles is the best-selling author of more than fifty historical romances and novellas. Her tales of passion and adventure are set in exotic as well as American locales. Connie was named Story Teller of the Year in 1990 by Romantic Times and was awarded Career Achievement award in the Western category by Romantic Times in 1994. Connie makes her home in Tarpon Springs, Florida with her husband Jerry.
Prior to her first published work in 1984, Connie was a full time homemaker. Always an avid reader, writing was one of Connie's dreams.
In 1995 Connie was featured on a segment of the CBS news show 48 Hours, a television production that devoted an entire program to the romance novel industry. Connie was also featured in an article published by National Inquirer.
In addition to writing and traveling, Connie enjoys telling anyone who will listen about her three children and nine grandchildren, and sharing memories of her years living abroad in Europe and Asia as the wife of a career serviceman. In her spare time Connie enjoys reading, dancing, playing bridge and freshwater fishing with her husband.
Ms. Mason writes great sex scenes and that's why I love her books, even though she botches the plot sometimes. The villains could've been better, the kid was neither cute nor smart and even the king was needlessly shoehorned in. It also bothered me that H didn't recognize his own child and easily believed h's lie about the child's age. I like my Hs to be able to recognize his own and go alpha over getting custody.
For people uncomfortable with cheating, you may not like that h slept with H while she was married (her elderly husband encouraged it) and she also slept with H while believing him to be recently married. So her traitorous body always overruled her morals. Besides that she was amazingly crafty while planning escapes but bizarrely stupid to get captured for she believed villains' lie even after they tried to kill her child. Overall she was stupid but not TSTL.
I am loving some of these medieval historical romances. The hs are caring and soft-hearted about their people but are powerless to secure the future without intervention from a powerful alpha H. Hs oozes masculinity in the most corny sense and I love it. However, H was too late to recognize his love for h and was also not all too bright. Docking stars for that.
But both MCs couldn't contain their desires whenever they were close so it's not hard to love this book, even if it was more focused on lust than love between them.
Mariah and her aging husband have a unique problem, for as young and healthy as she is he is not and they have no heir, which is no surprise seeming as he is more of a father to her than a husband and while they do love each other, save for consummating there marriage (years after the ceremony) and a scant few awkward times in between, husband and wife never sleep together! ever!
Now that Mariah's husband is on his death bed, Mariah's wicked brother inlaw is set to inherit the castle and wants to marry Mariah off to his Son (who is turning out to be just likehis father) In order to save her self and the castle, Mariah's husband starts planning up ways to keep his daughter, I mean wife safe from his horrible brother, when he answer to there prayers falls in to there laps!
Falcon is a younger son who has become a knight and proven himself to the king, as reward for his services the king has arranged a marriage to an wealthy heiress so that Falcon may finally posses the land and fortune he has desired. While on a visit to his soon to be bride, Roseamond, Falcon is attacked by highway men and left for dead... Falcon is rescued by a passing villager and delivered straight to Mariah's front door to be cared for. When Falcon awakes he has no memory of who he is, and Mariah's husband developes a plan! He wants Mariah to seduce the mysterious young man in order to become pregnant with the child he cannot give to her, the child, the heir they desperately need inorder to keep Mariah and the castle safe from Osgood, the devil of a brother in law who is set to inherit when Mariah's husband dies.
Mariah successfully seduces Falcon (not that he complained much) by telling him that she was her husband's daughter not his wife! after a month of nightly "meetings" Falcon is recovered and his memory miraculously returns.... He immediately heads off to try and return to the life he left behind (a little too immediately in my opinion)..... Falcon returns to find that Roseamond has married another knight and the king is off fighting in France...
5 years later Mariah has had Falcon's child and with the enthusiastic help of her aging husband passed the boy off as the new heir, after her husband's death Mariah has had to battle Osgood for control of her castle. She sent for help from the king who has newly returned from France. The king who is too busy to help decide weither or not Osgoods claims that Mariah'a son is not from her husband, send Falcon to sort the matter out.
When falcon arrives he slowly discover's the lies Mariah has told one by one he uncovers them and has to choose wither or not to protect the woman who calls to him away no other has ever been able to him, or to turn her over for the lies she has told him. He battles with wither or not to trust her, and wither he can love her is he does not trust her.
This was a great story, very heartfelt, very sentimental family drama. Excellent read!
Old Sir Edmund of Mildenhall had wed Mariah to save her from a disastrous marriage, but he was now much too ill to sire a son to inherit the keep and his lands. Indeed, Edmund was dying and desperate.
When Sir Falcon is set upon by bandits and brought to Mildenhall to recover from his wounds, Edmund seizes the opportunity. At the earl’s urging, Sir Falcon believes the lovely Mariah to be Edmund’s daughter. Despite his resolve, Falcon cannot deny his desire for her. Once Falcon regains his memory and his strength, he departs for London – leaving a precious secret behind.
Fighting King Henry’s battles takes Falcon away to France for a while. When Falcon returns, old Edmund has passed on and Mariah has a young son. Seeing a golden opportunity to take what he wants, Edmund’s brother, Osgood, seizes his chance. He believes that if he can force Mariah to wed his son, Walter, the earldom will at last be his! As soon as Mariah bears Walter a son, her own son, Robert, will quickly and conveniently be disposed of. It was the perfect plan. Only Sir Falcon, Mariah, a handful of faithful men-at-arms and servants stand in the way of Robert’s murderers.
I adored the twists and turns of the plot in this story. In addition, the descriptions of Mildenhall were so realistic that I could almost feel the rushes crushed beneath my feet and smell venison cooking on the fire spit. This historical account also casts wonderful light upon the plight of noble men and women at a time when treachery and deceit vied with honor and strength. At what price is a knight’s honor, if it be at the cost of love?
Mariah is a woman with determination and will hold on to Mildenhall with all of her strength. Falcon is determined to get to the truth.
What I did not like about this book. Mariah constantly running back and forth from the castle to wherever and from wherever to the castle and constantly putting herself in danger. What I did like. Falcon being the hero, not being fooled by others and searching for the truth.
"A Knight's Honor" by Connie Mason is a historical romance novel that tells the story of Mariah, a soon-to-be widow, who is being pressured to marry her cruel brother-in-law, Osgood, in order to provide an heir to her late husband's estate. Her old husband who is on the verge of dying, urges her to find a strong man who will give her a child. He is willing to accept the child as his heir so that she can keep the castle and be safe. When she meets Falcon, a mysterious knight who cannot remember his past, she is immediately drawn to him and the inevitable happens.
The story is set in medieval England, and the descriptions of the landscape and the customs of the time are vivid and immersive. Knight Falcon is a strong and honorable hero who is easy to root for. He is a skilled knight who is feared by many, but he is also kind and protective of Mariah. Mariah is a strong and independent heroine who captures the attention of Falcon. she is also a very strong mother to her son. Their chemistry is palpable, and I found myself rooting so hard for their love to overcome the obstacles they face.
Connie Mason's writing style is engrossing and descriptive and the pacing of the book is well-balanced, with a blend of tender moments and expected plot development. Overall, "A Knight's Honor" is an engaging historical romance novel that will appeal to fans of the genre. Give it a chance!
Although it was a nice one-time read, it's not a book I would keep in my home library.
I enjoyed the main characters. Mariah was a strong heroine and Falcon was a wonderful hero. However, there were too many misunderstanding between the characters and too many coincidencal encounters. And, although I enjoy sex in my novels, I don't like when they are used as filler and that's how I felt with this book.
I was looking for a book with a knight and castles. This book checked all the boxes and was a good read. However, it kept dragging on once the big secret was out and he totally wouldn't forgive her but kept loving her. It got tedious. Ok book.
Kız Falconu bu cadı Rosalind in evinde arar.
Overall I enjoyed this historical romance, It had an unusual theme - a married woman is encouraged by her dying husband to sleep with another man in order to conceive an heir. The ethical dilemma involved runs throughout the book and makes for an interesting premise.
Much of the love story seemed to involve lust in a way that caused all sorts of problems for the hero and heroine. He would never listen to her when she tried to tell him things because he was too eager to bed her. I felt that there were way too many graphic descriptions of oral sex and I eventually found myself just skipping over them as for the most part they didn't add to the plot.
I would read more by this author but would prefer a toned down version sexually. I don't read these books for the sex in them.
This was different! Mariah was married to an old, dieing man and "they" needed an heir before he died. A handsome knight lands on their doorstep :-0, injured, and Mariah and dieing hubby concoct a scheme that raised This Readers eyebrows well into my hairline...(so to speak).
Eh it was alright. I liked the romance and the history but the things that happened seemed unbelievable , as well as how they spoke. They seemed overly descriptive when talking to each other.
