Mitch Uncle Boney was born a skeleton and has a terrible name. In this novella we learn of Mitch's upbringing and his entry into the working world of an adult. Things seem to be going OK until he tries to rent a room in his house. The result is threatening phone calls and letters, drinking binges, violence, new friendships and an ever growing tally of enemies. Life is never simple, but when you are a skeleton in today's world nothing is simple at all.
A good, lighthearted read. The first chapter was fun and witty so I although I was only planning to read a chapter or two when I started the book, I ended up reading it to the end! I found myself almost believing the main character, Mitch, could actually exist, despite him being a skeleton. I enjoyed the book but I did spot the odd rogue apostrophe and one thing left me a little puzzled... How does Mitch drink in a pub (or even at home) without causing puddles on the floor, when liquid just runs through him? I'd recommend this book to anyone wanting to read something humorous and a little different and I plan to read The Case for Skeletons, which if I'm not mistaken, is another book featuring Mitch Uncle Boney.
