THIS VERSION IS OUT OF PRINT AS OF JULY 2017 --- When immortal Luc Saint-Cyr arranges a menage with Wulf and Jawk, he gets far more than he bargained for. Pleasure. Trust. Possession. A Chosen's betrayal is forever. Jawk works at Batchelors, a gay club in the Top Tier district of Tarth City, where he meets Luc. Luc offers Jawk a deal too good to pass up, one night showing him and his lover a good time in exchange for far more than his usual pay. But the sensual Jawk is not what he seems, and one night with him will change the immortal's alliances forever.
Kayelle Allen creates MM sci-fi romance featuring mythic heroes, immortal gamers, and fierce warriors who purr. Explore the Empire and embrace your immortality. With eternity on your side, romance lives forever.
This is the 3rd book in the story of the Chosen, but way down the chronological list in this brilliantly constructed sci-fi series. It was my favorite only because it tells us more about the game these Immortals play. (And it IS an amazing one!). I loved that the character of Jawk, who is a Kin (the more feline of the races) is alpha enough to hold his own with Luc, the most powerful man on most worlds. (*spoiler alert*) He does have a deep secret, one that can change the course of the game. I love this series! There is plenty of sex (MM for those concerned, but treated with all the beauty and passion of any encounter between any lovers) and the intrigue that the game entails keeps you wondering who is really doing what to whom and who will eventually win. Each book fills in more and more, and I can't wait to keep reading! * I was given an advanced copy for an honest. [always] review *
I loved the liaisons, trysts, betrayals, and shenanigans of these four men. It's like watching a chess game play out. Sex, lust, seduction, jealousy...lots of sexy men and steamy scenes. I'm not a big sci-fi fan, but it's a great stage for these MCs. My one complaint/request...I want to see another story for Jawk. It seemed like he didn't get the attention and outcome he deserves.
I received an ARC via StoryOrigin and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
This is the second book in the series and I loved it as much as the first. She creates worlds that are familiar yet very different. The mysterious issues surrounding Jawx and his master are resolved at the end and I never had a glimmer of what they were. I was a little surprised at how the relationship between Wulf and Luc changed so dramatically. Thank you so much for the free review copy!
Book 3 of 3. Please read Wulf and Alitus first. This book mostly centers on Jawk being with Luc. Jawk, a kin, holds his own with Luc and Luc falls for him. Wulf and Alitus are found out when Alitus is poisoned and dying. Ending was ok, but not everyone ends up happy.
Jawk is book 3 in the Chosen Series (a futuristic romance series) by Ms. Allen. This book has it all, love, sex, gorgeous men, powerful people, scandal and betrayal. Jawk definitely fits the gorgeous man title with his build, looks and cat-like ears. Reading Jawk's story we see the world through fresh eyes. Jawk is a college student who finds himself in a world of power, money, and glamor. Yet the entire time we get the feeling Jawk has a secret agenda. Will Jawk survive this lifestyle and keep his ideals or will he surrender to a world more powerful that anything he can imagine? Will he follow his heart or his principles or both?
Ms. Allen has a great way of intertwining the characters in her series. While reading Jawk's story we keep up with the main characters in the prior books: Luc, Wulf, Alitus, and the powers that be in the Empire. When scandal breaks, who does it involve? When the Betrayal happens - which characters are involved? FUN, EXCITING, SEXY and SUSPENSEFUL - like I said, this book has it all.
My only minor complaint is I just LOVE JAWK.... I wanted a different ending for him (of course it could just be me being sappy). HOWEVER, knowing Ms. Allen and the way her characters remain a part of the storyline as the series rolls on, I hope we haven't seen the last of Jawk.
Wow, never saw that coming. This book definitely made the series worth reading to me. Honestly, I hated the love matches made in #1 & #2 so this ending couldn't have been more perfect. Well it could have. I hated to see poor **** left at the mercy of the evil queen at the end. I really hate her and would have loved to have seen him reunited with Cyren.
I've just reread all the Kayelle Allen books and raised all the ratings to 5.
I loved the books to begin with, but the scope of the world building has again totally blown me away. Compared to the other stuff that's out there, these books really do stand above the crowd.
