I know the author of this book personally, but I'll try to be as unbiased as possible. Jacob's mastery of metaphor is hard to beat. He's better at it than most authors I've ever read. The book has some typos and other spelling, grammatical errors, and the story feels a little like it stops short at the end. The language, though. My god, the language. There's a lot of potential here. I'd like to see him keep writing because I think his talent would be a shame to deprive the world of. His writing is so funny, and his metaphors so unexpected and so beautiful. You can seriously feel the awkwardness of the character through the pages. The palmetto tree metaphor is my favorite in the book, and the fight scene in general is expertly written and hilarious. Worth the read for sure.
