I think the color scheme of dark purples and blues with bits of lighter colors quite a bit- it's rather dramatic and actually well considered for the audience and theme. Dark outlines would help add some contrast that babies might be able to see better. The text is fair- it covers going to bed activities with average rhymes, although not with the sensitivity that Mem Fox's Time for Bed does. My mom pointed out that it does make one mistake a the very end- the owl goes to sleep despite being nocturnal.
This is a cute little board book I picked up a few years ago as a bedtime story. In the story, owl says goodnight to all his animal friends before going to sleep himself. It's a great book for my daughters because with their respective speech delays, we are working on names of animals. It also rhymes which seems to capture their attention better.
This book is super simple but also really really cute! I love the artwork and the story flowed really nicely! It is perfect for lulling you little one to sleep!! It also came with a CD that I think has lullabies on it, but I didn’t listen to it, and I doubt my sister has either. (It was a present for my niece)
