Irrefutable Proof is a cozy mystery/suspense novel that mixes fact with fiction. The Voynich Manuscript, Book of Enoch and the Sentinelese people of the Andaman Islands all come alive in this sequel to Abby L. Vandiver debut novel, In the Beginning.
Twelve years after finding 2,000 year old manuscripts that gave the answers to Earth's ancient mysteries, Biblical archaeologist Justin Dickerson discovers that knowledge of the advanced technology exhibited by our ancient ancestors more than 10,000 years ago is within her reach. Follow Justin on her journey across the globe as she searches for irreftuable proof of man's true capabilities.

Once I started reading Irrefutable Proof I thought it was another Dan Brown-ish novel. I am so happy that it wasn't, as Ms Vandiver overcame my expectations.
I really enjoyed how the author managed to picture her characters - for example the archaeologist Justin, who recalled me a bit of Indiana Jones and a bit of Daniel Pierce of Perception TV series. I also loved the plot and subplots twisting in a vertigo of events and some action.
Although it was the second book of the series and I didn't read the first, I found easy to catch up with everything. I never found myself out of the story, which is an awesome strength point to Ms. Vandiver's writing style.
Most of the mystery stories don't embed any messages behind the lines, but Irrefutable Proof has some sparks to meditate about mankind, where we came from etc. I found that pretty interesting even though I usually enjoy mystery stories as they are.
Irrefutable Proof has elements mutated from several genres: suspense, cozy, sci-fi, adventure. It's a great versatile book I'd recommend to everyone.
I know that the first book in this series was very successful, but this one leaves one wanting. I read a kindle version and was very concerned with the lack of editing. It made the book hard to read as there were words missing and many mispelled words. The story is unique and could have been expanded for some real suspenseful knowledge into the origin of the premise. In the end I'm not even sure if there was some irrefutable proof.
Interesting story that draws you into the plot; it is well written and keeps you reading till the end. The topic is captivating and well thought out. I really like the natural flow between scenes as you move from the past to the present while learning more about the origins of man. The characters were strong and believable, some characters real live like so that you could really connect to them.
I was given this book free from story cartel. com for my honest review.
A great read. The story grabs your attention from the very first moment. It's full of reach details. Abby L. Vandiber makes the characters and situations come to life. The story is really entertaining. An enjoyable mystery.
This was another badly written novel from this author. To start with it felt a little better than the first installment of this series however as the story progressed (or did it??) the quality of the language (especially grammar and spellings) got worse. There are numerous mistakes not just grammatical but factual as well. Author seems to have typical European/American stereotypical view of India as a third world country which she openly mentions a couple of times in the book. I strongly recommend the entire writing community to shed such stereotypical views about ancient civilizations be it India, Egypt, Persia, Mexico or China because readers are very likely to get influenced by your writing and it’ll be a great loss for any reader if they germinate such ignorance in their minds about these great civilizations and countries which will ultimately cloud their opinion. Let's not forget these civilizations helped the humanity grow by leaps and bounds when entire Europe and America were still in hunter/gatherer mode.
The content of this novel-a huge conspiracy theory regarding the origins of humankind--reminded me somewhat of the Da Vinci Code. It hooked me right away because the Dead Sea scrolls, ancient knowledge, dead languages, and secret codes, etc. have always fascinated me. The main character is an archeologist turned fiction writer after finding some scrolls that hint that human beings originated on Mars. This is the second novel in the series and it focuses on the archeologist's attempts to share her new knowledge with the world in a non-fiction book (instead of fiction, as in her first book), without becoming the laughing stock of her peers, and while being thwarted on every side by those opposed to that knowledge becoming public. With elements of intrigue, murder, and danger, this is a page-turner, and I finished it in two sittings, staying up late into the night to do so. The novel is well researched, which allows for a suspension of disbelief with regards to the idea of humankind originating on Mars, and which allows you, as a reader, to become a believer for the duration of the novel and go along for the ride.
Overall, the story is fast-paced, interweaving fact and fiction until you can't tell the difference anymore. I would have liked a little more guidance as to which side of the arguments for and against bringing back advanced technological knowledge I was supposed to be on, as for much of the novel I felt like the main character was foolhardy in wanting to bring back the knowledge that destroyed an entire planet, although obviously she is the one we are supposed to be rooting for. Also, there are insidious references to an ancient one-world government on Mars without explanation of why this would be a negative thing (overall in keeping, I suppose, with conspiracy theories in general).
One thing that I found off-putting was the reference to Indians being engineered as a regressed race--I feel like the author could have achieved the same result by clarifying that this is meant only in terms of technical knowledge and not intelligence. Given the histories of colonialism, it is quite awkward to advance the idea of regression, which is not much different from calling a people primitive. In the same spirit, I would have also preferred that the human race not be referred to as Man. However, even with these reservations, I enjoyed the novel as an entertaining "What if" story, and I will be reading the next installment in the series.
Irrefutable Proof by Abby L. Vandiver is a science fiction story about Justin, a writer who publishes a novel about the translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and awakens a millennia-long conspiracy about the origins of mankind.
Justin plans to publish another book about the strange claims in ancient papers. Her husband and friends accompany her to Israel to find a box hidden there by Justin’s deceased mentor. The box’s puzzling contents take her on a dangerous mission to meet indigenous tribes that are untouched by modern culture. These tribes have clues about ages-old mysteries.
Her sleuthing leads Justin to the Voynich Manuscript. This antiquity is a mash-up of ancient languages, apparent gibberish, and puzzling drawings. It holds the key to the origins of mankind. She must translate the Voynich Manuscript, an impossible task where everyone before her has failed. Her very life depends on it.
Irrefutable Proof is a dandy science fiction mystery that swirls around ancient astronauts and deciphering clues in old scrolls. Vandiver has a deft hand in mixing believable characters with dangerous situations. Some truly evil people who will stop at nothing to keep ancient secrets safe come into Justin’s life, and they hide very well until their deadly strikes. At times, even Justin’s friends act suspiciously. Irrefutable Proof kept me guessing to the very last page.
Science Fiction fans who love conspiracy thrillers about shadowy secret organizations would enjoy Justin’s world in Irrefutable Proof. Be ready to smell the musty papers and second-guess everything you read in these ancient puzzles.
Cleverly-constructed story expertly switching eras and locations. The story begins in ancient times with the knowledge and history of voyagers from Mars, who had initiated human civilization in our world, being recorded in coded languages, ready to be deciphered and re-learnt by future generations. The tale shifts to present times, and the intrigues centred on these manuscripts, and their mysteries, occasioning murder and mayhem in the greed to possess them, or to keep their truths hidden. Then it shifts even more into the present with concentration on a small-time writer, Justin, who has published work on the revelations contained in manuscripts found alongside the Dead Sea Scrolls, and on the lost world of Atlantis. She investigates an alternative history of man’s origin, as colonisers from the planet Mars, and possessors of great knowledge, superior to that of today, deliberately jettisoned as such knowledge had caused that race’s downfall on Mars. What are the evil forces now at work? What is the secret society peopled by all the movers and shakers in this world, which has links with the Ancients? Was there once a nuclear disaster on Mars? Is a new world catastrophe being prepared? Check out this fascinating and intriguing hypothesis and tale.
“Irrefutable Proof” by Abby L. Vandiver is a cleverly told mystery story that crosses into science fiction, alternative history and mythology with ease and a light hearted approach. The book follows several characters and narratives. Justin Dickerson, Biblical archaeologist, is onto something big, a manual of old technologies and an explanation about the origins of human kind. Theories from several scientific disciplines are influencing her search, as are old manuscripts. Justin Dickerson revealed her findings in fictional form once and is about to publish her sequel, which attracts attention from various sources. Weaving narratives set in 1998, 2011 and also some from ancient times, the author shows a versatility in style and perspective while handling well-researched and –presented details and information that seems like a perfect blend of fact and fiction. The story itself is gripping with suspense, some action, convincing and colourful characters and some tongue-in-cheek humour. Very enjoyable and a must read for fans of anthropology and people who wonder about mysteries such as the Pyramids, Life on Mars and Atlantis.
“Irrefutable Proof” by Abby L. Vandiver is an outstanding story which seamlessly interweaves science fiction, alternative history and mythology. Justin Dickerson, an archaeologist, has found a manuscript which contains an explanation of the beginning of the human race. She reveals her discovery as a work of fiction. This is when the action begins as attention for the work draws scrutiny from those she has to contend with - a murderous octogenarian, an unemployed telephone worker turned amateur sleuth, a mysterious Jesuit priest, and a fellow archaeologist. Weaving narratives set in 1998, 2011 and also some from ancient times - Atlantis and Egypt - the author shows versatility in style and perspective while handling details and information which present themselves as a perfect blend of fact and fiction. The story is filled with suspense, action, convincing characters and humor. Irrefutable Proof is written as a sequel to In The Beginning, but it can be read as a stand alone book. It is a very enjoyable read and a must read for fans of anthropology (me!) and anyone who ponders the mysteries of the Ancients.
Irrefutable Proof by Abby L. Vandiver completely hooked me with its complex weaving of historical fact and fiction into a tale right out of Indiana Jones. The author does an awesome job of making dry facts leap from every page and force the reader to want more. Biblical archaeologist, Justin Dickerson is researching ancient knowledge and how it vanished or didn't. The deeper she delves the more obvious it becomes that a powerful cadre has kept this knowledge for themselves and will do anything to prevent it becoming known to the general public. The author uses genuine ancient manuscripts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls to titillate the reader with encoded messages that imply Atlantis really did exist. And so Justin is set on an amazing journey of discovery across the globe in search of the truth, mixing action adventure and mystery with such consummate skill. For this reader it was the journey of discovery, gathering incredible information that hooked me and I hope there will be of the same from the fingers of this awesome author. A FIVE STAR mystery thriller adventure for all Indiana Jones fans and very highly recommended.
It's 1998. On the trail of an ancient manuscript, a mysterious woman poses as an author researching a book about Dr. Jacob Margulies. As she coldly waits for the handsome Ghazi to drink the coffee she has poisoned, she learns about Dr. Justin Dickerson, who was like a daughter to Dr. Margulies. When the killer searches Ghazi's apartment, she finds Justin's address.
Fast forward to 2011. Justin is an archeologist with mental health issues. In the first book of this series, Justin followed clues regarding the Dead Sea Scrolls back to 1949. At that time, a translator was murdered to safeguard beliefs about Christianity. Justin published her book with its shocking revelations about mankind's real origins, and is now working on the sequel, The Dead Sea Fish.
Irrefutable Proof, by Abby L. Vandiver, is the newest volume in her series. She deftly switches from past to present and back again. Her writing reflects her extensive research, with realistic details.
If you like fantasy, science fiction, action and adventure, this is the book for you. Throw in some mystery and suspense and you still haven’t got it all. This book is a roller coaster ride and it is surprising that though it is the second book in a series, you get the story without much effort. Abby Vandiver gives you enough background to make this a stand alone book. Her protagonist Justin is trying to prove her hypothesis that humankind originated in Mars.
She has her material and now she needs to get it deciphered. In the meanwhile she faces danger from many quarters as enemies try to stop her from completing her task. This exciting and fast paced story takes you literally from one end of the world to another, through fantastic settings and is vividly portrayed. A great suspense story from a talented author!
Another decent story spoiled by poor or no editing/proofing. If you are going to spend time and energy of writing and publishing a book please proof read it, I realize that schools are spending more time teaching test taking then actual material, but these are basic English. End of rant. A biblical archeologist sets out to prove that what she has learned from translating some old texts. Writing a book as fiction that intimates that humankind actual came from Mars and had advanced knowledge that was suppressed when they intermixed with the local hominids. Naturally she runs into factions that either want to publish the proof or suppress it. It was a reasonably done story except for the above gripe.
I received an advance copy of this book, some time before publication. Having read Abby Vandiver's first book (In the Beginning), to which this one is a sequel (although it can also be read on its own), I can vouch that this one is as good as the first one and holds your attention from Chapter One. Vandiver again mixes fact with fiction as she uses Earth's ancient mysteries to weave her tale of how pre-historic man had advanced knowledge in physics, math and architecture. The book will really get you thinking. An enjoyable read. I highly recommend it to everyone and especially to people who enjoyed her previous book.
Irrefutable Proof by Abby Vandiver is a mystery novel focused upon mankind’s extra terrestrial beginnings on planet earth. Fans of Ancient Aliens and enthusiasts of Erich Von Daniken’s writings will find this work irresistible. Many interesting theories and possibilities are presented to the reader as author Vandiver peels layer after layer of the mysteries away to reveal layer after layer of conspiracies.
I understand this is a prequel to In the Beginning by the same author. I feel the book stands on it’s own as I haven’t had a chance to read the other yet. An enjoyable and interesting read. Recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing, November 10, 2014 By KAREN INGALLS Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Irrefutable Proof: Sequel to In the Beginning (Kindle Edition) I found the premise of the book intriguing and fascinating. Did we come from Mars? What and where are the ancient texts? The main character is an archaeologist who tries to find the answers to those questions with the help of her family and friends. There are some unsavory characters with which she must contend. She travels to many places in the world, researches many notes and book, and investigates several organizations. It is a fast paced book that I did enjoy.
As if the first book in this series weren't preposterous enough, the second one "builds" on a ridiculous premise (that humans came, almost fully-evolved, from Mars billions of years ago) by making our ancestors the genetic engineers of the dinosaurs. The author tries to give the "ancient alien" theory some credence by making the undeciphered and highly mysterious--in some cases, downright bizarre--Voynich Manuscript one of the main sources of information. As with the first book, the exasperating thing is that the author writes well and could craft a compelling tale if she stuck to conceivable facts.
Lighthearted and Interesting This is an enjoyable tale that presents amusing anthropological speculation in a mystery suspense setting. The action runs around the world from Israel to the USA to the Bay of Bengal. The characters are quirky and likable, with a twisted villain who will surprise you. Although it is a mystery suspense novel, it is light and fun reminding me of reading “The Hardy Boys” in my youth. This is the second in a series, bit I enjoyed it without reading the first. I did not notice that I had missed anything.
Irrefutable Proof by Abby L Vandiver is so well put together that it actually had me wondering about the origins of man. The storyline is incredibly well researched, drawing on known ‘proof’ from our own world, which makes the theories all the more convincing. The characters form an intricate smorgasbord of differing opinion relating to man’s beginnings and the reader is eased into each life, in order to hear out their view. It is an intriguing mystery which moves from past to future seamlessly. It is an intellectual read.
Irrefutable Proof is an amazing novel. Ms. Vandiver presents a good exposition of recent discoveries about ancient mysteries. Her facts are dispersed throughout the story and are never dry. Drawing on her diverse background, Ms. Vandiver knows how to effectively blend her historical points with a dose of humor. She introduces an entertaining ensemble of amateur sleuths trying their best to solve a mystery. Ms. Vandiver’s main character is witty and frequently hilarious, in contrast to the darkness of certain plot twists. A very enjoyable read!
Ok, I must say I did not read Abby L. Vandivers first book " In the Beginning " and with that said Irrefutable Proof is a great book that pulls you right in from the first page...it has mystery, and suspense.. lots of history and the way you go back and forth in time is perfect.I enjoyed all the characters, I love the premise and must say " This book has got me thinking " !!!!! I received this book from Paranormal romance & authors that rock, and as I say I highly recommend you enjoy Abby Vandivers books.....awesome.

Without reading Vandiver’s first novel, In the Beginning, I had no problem jumping right in to this story. It was engaging and kept my interest from page one. There was so much detail and information put into the history of this story, that there were times I actually thought, this could real. And I believe that was the Author’s objective, so fantastic job.
I will absolutely pick up book one and see what mysteries unfold in that story!
This is a fast-paced novel which draws the reader straight into a world of ancient languages and danger.
Trying to decipher ancient manuscripts whilst being pursued by people intent on harming her, the main character with her band of assistants never gives up.
Based on an idea of humans originally coming to Earth from Mars, this is a fascinating and exciting tale in search of the truth recorded in the pages of an ancient text which everyone seems rather too interested in.
Are you sure you know who to trust to? Irrefutable Proof was a gripping read from the start. Well developed conspiracy made me suspect everything and everyone and I honestly had no clue whatsoever where the story would take me.
This was science fiction in its best. Kind of like Indiana Jones meets Da Vinci Code. A story where historical facts mixed with fiction making it compelling read from the page one until the very end. Great adventure!
Such an interesting explanation for the ancient mysteries. I loved the intrigue and pacing of this whole story. I was THRILLED that Justin was less neurotic in this one. Kinda made the beginning of book 1 difficult to tolerate. But the empowered Justin in this book charging full speed ahead.. loved it. Was surprised "Proof" ended so abruptly. Good story over all.
