Amanda Adams has the American Dream. She is a highly respected corporate attorney for one of Silicon Valley’s hottest companies. She has a loving partner, a healthy bank account, and a beautiful home in the suburbs.
Despite her outward successes, however, Amanda was restless. The hamster wheel that had become her existence was draining the very life out of her. True freedom and authentic joy existed only in her dreams, and it wasn’t until she bumps into a stranger on the beach that her heart was cracked open to the possibilities of how glorious life could truly be.
In the face of this newfound promise, the unexpected ending of a relationship decimates her spirit and leaves her with only a whisper of hope to keep going, before serendipitous wisdom from three strangers leads her on a journey of forgiveness, self-love and gratitude that would forever change her life.
It is well written. A book about finding yourself learning to love yourself and finding your own bliss. A scripture thrown in a mention of God. But mostly new age subtle under the surface. No real writing about swimming in such set with dolphins just a couple of lucid dreams about going to the Caribbean ending with her doing it. More of a tell don't show kind of book
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! The text is well written and kept my attention, it was hard to put down.
It was very thought provoking and provided a new perspective on how our lives are shaped by our experiences and relationships; and how we can change our own perspective as to who we are and to be more open to new experiences and to change and grow and not become stagnant.
Amanda struggles with the high pressure, long hours of a legal firm without appreciation. It impacts her personal relationship & sends her reeling. It was interesting to see her meet 3 strangers who would change her life for the better & help her heal from life's heartaches.
