Lyra Spinelli is trying to put her life back together after her marriage suddenly comes crashing down. Her trust is shot, her already high walls are firmly in place, and she is focused on work. Growing up and living with a rare genetic disorder has made her wonder whether she is even made for a healthy relationship. The last thing she needs is an attraction to the charming UPS driver Taran, no matter how much she is drawn to him. The more she interacts with him though, the more impossible he becomes to resist.

Taran Malloy hasn't had much room in his life for romance, working long hours and taking care of his widowed mother. After meeting Lyra though, long forgotten feelings bubble up and he sets his sights on getting to know her and her story. As he slowly unravels her many layers, he finds the woman of his dreams. Okay, it’s time to rip off the bandaid, I’ve been dreading picking this back up, and I think it’s finally time to DNF.

It wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t feel the connection between the characters. Though they had REALLY GOOD communication.. except for the MMC not really realizing she's pretty much unavailable emotionally, and has some trauma.

The pacing was strange; 116 pages in, and they’re already talking about probably getting into a relationship after her divorce is finalized?

And honestly… Taran gives me the ick. He seems nice enough, but he’s way too forceful and relentlessly persistent. (He reminds me of this one guy I used to know who wanted to date me but I had to keep friendzoning him, didn't end well for him.)

Lyra is clearly not ready, and he’s out here saying things like:

"Lyra, you have no idea what you do to me. Look at you with your cheeks all flushed and your curls all wild. Please tell me that you're willing to give this a shot when you're ready. Maybe it won't work out, but maybe it will. If it somehow doesn't, it won't be because we want different things out of life. I think we've laid it all out clearly. We seem to understand each other really well."

CALM DOWN BRO.

It's great that you practically just met and are in love with her already but SHE IS LITERALLY EMOTIONALLY UNAVAILABLE RIGHT NOW.

With that being said, this book is a feel-good story, with lots of relationship green flags. But, overall, it wasn't for me. It wasn't bad, but it did get boring after a while, to the point I dreaded picking it back up. I think this is the year, I start DNFing more books that I'm not into.
Also, I liked the representation for Turner Syndrome. I had never heard of it before, and this book taught me quite a bit about it. It was different and refreshing to see that kind of awareness woven into the story.

I have an ARC of book 2.. and I'm scared to read it.

I really wanted to like this, I've seen nothing but good reviews so far, even more shocking for a debut novel! But this one was not for me...

The pros:
- Super light read!
- I loved the representation for Turner Syndrome, I have never heard of it before and this book taught me a lot.
- COMMUNICATION! We only have green flags in this relationship!

The cons:
- Reverse age gap, omg this trope is NOT for me, I kept picturing Aaron and Sam Taylor-Johnson and I got a huge ick 🤣, this one's on me though.
- The line between romance and cringy was fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine, really fine and blurred at times.
- Taran, this is a first, I am so easy to fall in love with the MMC but this one was hard.

My final recommendation is to give this one a try! Go see the reviews by yourself and you will see I am the exception so maybe I was not in the mood for it?, I will give it another try in the future.

This book is such a special feel good story and I liked it a lot. There were some parts where Lyra kind of irritated me with how she would put words in tarans mouth or kind of state what she thought he was feeling so matter of fact. Taran and lyras story had so much growth and you can really feel their connection throughout the book. I’m happy Lyra got to grow and see her way past all the trauma and challenges she had been through in the past and I’m glad taran was so compassionate and helping with her and patient with her as she learned how to navigate these feelings.

I LOVED how different this was. I loved that it was based on the author's personal experiences. As a special needs girlie, I always adore when I see a book representing that. Lyra and Taran's story was so heartwarming, realistic and wholesome. it's hard to believe this was a debut. thank you to love notes pr for the arc.

reverse grumpy sunshine, reverse age gap, found family!

wow to say i loved this book would be an understatement. from the beginning to end, the journey that lyra has to take to get to know herself and work on herself is absolutely insane.

lyra has recently gotten out of marriage, someone who didn't quite understand her and her sacrifices when it came to her condition and her life. this girl has been through some ups and downs and all that she should have expected was a husband who would love her and support her, right? wrong.
her ex husband cheated on her because apparently according to him she was getting colder and distant, and he found that opportunity to justify his mistakes when in reality, there were some underlying issues that could have easily been talked about and solved in a much caring way than cheating on her. with that being said, lyra is now looking for something new in her life and changing her path.

enter taran, the charming delivery guy. GOSH! this man is absolutely everything and he exceeds every single standard that should have ever been thought of by a woman. but don't get it twisted, his past also haunts him. in between taking care of his mother and giving up on his dream, he hasn't had an easy journey with love either.

both of these people are able to find pieces of themselves in each other and therefore, find the comfort they had been craving all along. the journey of healing, love and accepting is beyond at play here and it highlights the fact that even when life feels like there will be no light at the end, just keep pushing and keep trying to find the little things that make you happy in order to give you strength, and you'll find that the best is still unwritten.

Lyra is in the process of moving on from her failed marriage when golden retriever Taran walks into her life, opening up new possibilities.

This was a cute romance that had some great feels to it. Lyra and Taran were a great together. Her standoffish black cat was won over by his happy charm. Honestly, I was also won over by it. Taran was just adorable and really supportive throughout the entire book.
Lyra's journey through her illness was also really well done. It was one that I didn't know much about but the book does a great job of raising awareness for it.

All in all, this was a feel good romance with some well placed spicy scenes!

“You feel like home, Lyra.”

I cannot, and will not shut up about this book! This is such a great debut by such a lovely human, and you absolutely need to read it! 🥹

I’ve learned so much about Turner Syndrome and I absolutely loved the way the author weaved the information in with the romance. Taran is an absolute sweetheart. He’s respectful, funny, and loving. Lyra is a bit of a grump, but she will slither into your heart and you will feel for her and her journey.

Taran and Lyra are soulmates that found each other at the perfect time. I loved their individual character development just as much as their slow development as a couple.

If Taran loves Lyra as much as he loves pupusas, they will have a long, happy life! 😀

What I loved:
📦 Turner Syndrome representation
📦 Caretaking
📦 Found family
📦 Respectful MMC
📦 COMMUNICATION
📦 He falls first
📦 Strangers to friends to lovers
📦 Food as a love language
📦 No third act break up
📦 Romantic dancing in the kitchen

“I’ll be any type of delivery man.” 😉

“Everytime I think I can’t love her more. I’m wrong”

This book was like a breath of fresh air. Reading it made me realize one thing–this was a passion project. Leigh Suznovich wrote something so special and empowering.

I was emotionally all over the place while reading this book. I ached, laughed, and loved with the characters. I love the way Taran pursued Lyra. The playful and flirty banter, the slow burn, and the spice was everything! Family played a huge role in the story which I adore so much. It helps show different layers of the characters. It was well written and relatable.

If there is one thing I'm taking away from this book is that representation matters. I love the way Leigh Suznovich represented women and the many layers and expectations that society upholds them to. She represented women who live with this rare genetic disorder, and women who choose to be childless so well.

Things I loved:
-rare genetic disorder representation
-multicultural representation
-dual POV

p.s. it has the best cutie wingman/sidekick one could ask for🐶

I received this arc from lovenotes
The cover of this book is super cute & exciting. It made me so happy and eager to start it. In the book, we meet Lyra (a soon to be divorcée), and Taran (8 years younger, mailman). They were cute together. At first, she’s super hesitant to enter a relationship with him, but she eventually caves. Throughout, I enjoyed the sweet golden retriever energy Taran was giving. I also super appreciated the mention of Turner syndrome, and what exactly it is, and the struggles those diagnosed with it face. I didn’t previously know anything about this syndrome, so I was very interested to learn more about it. The advocacy was on point! Although a cute and tame story - which I did like - I was kind of hoping there’d be more of an oomph to it. Readers get a look into the anxieties of Lyra’s mind, but it’s not an in-depth transformation of self. Of course, I didn’t expect her to heal her anxiety or self-doubts overnight or anything, but I would have liked a deeper dive into not why she’s feeling the way she is, but her journey. I feel like everything we got in this book was pretty rushed. I understand it was meant to be a quick read, but some of these topics have lots behind them, and definitely seemed like they needed to be explored further, and to have more time spent on them. For instance, their feelings towards each other were explained very surface-leveled, and also, there were so many family members/friends. I would have liked for there to have also been more time spent with the side characters too. Everything was good in this book, but there were lots of times I sat here wishing I was getting more out of each topic or situation. Despite this - overall, I did enjoy this book! It was a very cute first installment to the series. I do look forward to Carlo’s book next year!

In ‘The Parcel’ we read the story of Lyra and Taran. Lyra’s life has only recently been turned upside down when her husband came home telling her he wanted to get a divorce. Now Lyra is trying to get her life back in order. She just moved into her new home, and the divorce papers are almost done. The last thing Lyra was looking for is a new guy in her life. But when UPS driver Taran walks into her life it is almost impossible to ignore. Taran makes her smile when everything seems dark. But he is younger than her, and how can he ever want an older divorcee who also happens to have a rare genetic disorder?!

‘The Parcel’ was one of those books that grabbed my attention because it didn’t sound like your average romance novel. I love it when main characters aren’t as ‘perfect’ as they sometimes seem to be in books. And although Lyra’s character is very fun, tough and hardworking.. she isn’t perfect in the sense she has a rare genetic disorder that forced her to make certain choices in life. And I loved her. I loved how ‘real’ she was.

Taran’s character was also very fun. He was younger, but hardworking and he has been taking care of his mom for years now. He was definitely one of those guys that just seem to good to be true, but apparently aren’t. I loved how Taran and Lyra meet and I loved how smitten Taran was with Lyra right from the start.

Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the chemistry between Taran and Lyra as much as I hoped. Somehow I just didn’t really get excited about reading their story. And at times I found myself losing interest in the story a bit. I’m not sure why actually.. but I just didn’t really feel this book as much as I hoped.
Overall ‘The Parcel’ was a fun read, with some interesting main and side characters. I loved how the author wrote a character who had to life with a disorder. But in the end this book wasn’t for me.

Thanks to Love notes PR and Leigh for the ARC!

Hey friends, this is the author's debut novel, and it's super cute and easy breezy to read.

What's even better is that it tackles Turner syndrome from her personal experience. I know it must've been tough for her, so big thanks for sharing, especially because it'll resonate with many 'miracle women' out there 🥺

Lyra, a 36-year-old going through a divorce and lots of life changes, didn't expect to meet this awesome 28-year-old delivery guy who made her feel seen and heard. Taran's like a golden retriever, totally smitten with Lyra from the get-go. Yeah, it felt a bit like insta-love, but hey, it was light and I appreciated that Taran always respected Lyra's boundaries and went at her pace 😭 Print more guys like Taran, please.

Anyway, it's a story of friendship, self-discovery, mutual support, acceptance, and loads of representation you can't miss🥺

Thank you Love Notes PR and Leigh Suznovich for the ARC of this sweet love story! This story follows the love story of newly divorced Lyra, and golden retriever younger postman Taran. Lyra is confident and wildly independent. She has Turner Syndrome, which is a reflection of the authors personal story. Taran is a sweet man who is taking care of his mother who suffered a stroke. He is so kind and you just want to immediately add him to your list of fictional boyfriends. This is a very cute debut book, and reading this love story makes you want to read more! You should definitely add this to your TBR list!!

This book was such a feel good read. It was sweet, heartwarming, swoony, and had the perfect amount of spice. It did not read like a debut novel…the storyline was absolutely amazing and blew me away!! I was captivated from the very beginning, and instantly fell in love with these characters.

What to expect:
💜Reverse Age Gap
📦Golden Retriever MMC
💜He Falls First
📦Text Banter
💜Rare Genetic Disorder Rep

I loved the way Lyra and Taran’s relationship started and progressed. This story felt so realistic…their chemistry, their personal hang ups, their ups and downs…it all made me feel like I was experiencing life right along with them.

Lyra and Taran were truly meant to be and I am still giddy over all the HEA vibes this book gave me.

Everyone deserves a fresh start and especially Lyra who finds out her husband is cheating on him and wants a divorce. Lyra knows better than to try and stay so she moves with her sweet dog and finds a handsome young man as her USPS Delivery Guy.

Taran is enamored by not only the dog because he carries treats for them but also Lyra. He wants to know more but Lyra isn't ready to put down the walls yet.

Read this book if you like:-
-chronic illness rep
-age gap (she is older)
- clear and open communication
- no third act breakup

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldnt put it down because of its swoonworthy moments. This is an amazing debut by Leigh and I cant wait to read more by her.

I received this ARC from LoveNotesPR on Instagram!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️

When Lyra moves into a new house following her divorce, the last thing she is expecting is to fall in love. However, Taran isn’t giving up on what he sees with Lyra. Can he convince her to take another shot at love?

I loved this book so much 🥹 Taran was such a sweetie, and watching him capture Lyra’s heart made me not want to put the book down until the very end. You fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with each other, and I loved seeing a genetic disorder and women who choose to be childless represented so well. I can’t wait to read the second part of this duology.

Five stars! Thank you to LoveNotesPR for my ARC!

🐾 black cat/Golden Retriever

Summary🐾📦💜:
Lyra is a 36 year old woman who was blindsided, by her soon to be ex-husband, who came home one day after work with divorce papers in hand. Not only does she have to deal with the divorce but she also suffers from a rare genetic disorder called Turner Syndrome which causes her great pain in her jaw. She is looking to get surgery to have her jaw realigned. What she doesn’t expect is to meet Taran, a 28 year-old UPS driver, who delivers packages in her neighborhood, especially before her divorce is finalized. Taran has also experienced a difficult past where he was forced to grow up fast at just 18 years old when his father passed away, and a few months later, his mother suffered a stroke. Will Lyra put her insecurities and trust issues aside to pursue Taran, a man who brings comfort and joy in her life? Will Taran accept Lyra for who she is? Read to find out!

I would like to thank Love Notes PR and Leigh Suznovich for providing me this ARC in exchange for my honest review! This is a contemporary romance novel that brings to light life lessons that if one door closes another one opens, most times for the best. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that the universe has a plan for us. The main female character has a hard time trusting people and has some insecurities due to certain events in her life, but she is also strong, brave, and loves to dance. Leigh makes you fall in love with the lead male character. Taran is charming, caring, and just the perfect guy even at a young age. If you love a contemporary romance and want to be uplifted then I recommend you pick up this book!

WOW! This was so adorable and really blew me away. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and I was immediately captivated by the writing once I started. There were many aspects about this book that I adored, but first I’ll start with the Turner syndrome representation. I’ve briefly learned about this condition before, but I’ve never read about it in full depth. Being able to hear and understand this from Lyra’s perspective brought this story to life in a way that I cannot describe. Representation in books is extremely important to me and this book definitely has a great balance of it with the romantic storyline. I know many people out there would definitely feel seen through this story. In a society where your differences are undervalued and misunderstood, ultimately affecting how people perceive you and how you perceive yourself, this book is incredibly comforting.

This was one of the sweetest, most heartfelt romances I’ve read in a long time. I love how tough of a fmc Lyra is and the strength she possesses. She’s been through so much yet she never fails to stay true to herself and knows her worth. Taran is also such a wholesome, compassionate character 🥺 His immense adoration for Lyra regardless of their fears about losing each other was so cute. Transparent, vulnerable, golden retriever mmcs are not commonly written about in books so this was very refreshing. Seeing Taran never fail to ensure that Lyra feels secure in their relationship was everything. I just adored so many aspects of this book, including the support system from their families and Brody of course!!

Beyond the easy and compelling plot, this story highlights the beauty of learning to trust your heart through the difficult parts of life. As one story ends, another begins and I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to read about how Taran and Lyra’s journey unraveled. I was wondering what my next five star read would be and I found it 🌟 I cannot wait for Carlo’s book!

The Parcel is a special kind of love story. I cried, swooned, and laughed while I read about Lyra and Taran's story. Lyra has just gotten out of a bad marriage where her husband cheated on her and broke her heart. She is moving on to the next chapter of her life, and she meets Taran, who is her UPS delivery driver. Taran falls for her at first sight, but he takes this slow. I loved that he didn't rush Lyra into a relationship. He listened to her, and they started out as friends. Seeing their slow burn and their connection grow made me root for them even more.

Lyra feels like Taran could do so much better than her. She is 8 years older than him, she's getting divorced, and she has Turner Syndrome. I had never heard of Turner Syndrome before, and I enjoyed learning about it. The author, Leigh Suznovich, wrote about her experience with Turner Syndrome, and her personal experience made Lyra's character feel so real.

One of the things that stood out to me about this story was the author's note at the beginning of the book. She wrote about how there aren't many romances where the characters make a choice or have a discussion about not having children. In the book, Lyra and Taran have this discussion and make that choice. I appreciated the honesty that the characters had, and it's so meaningful to see that a family doesn't need to have children in it to be considered a family. Lyra and Taran are each other's family, and their story will stick with me and imprint on my heart.

Thanks to the author and Love Notes PR for an ARC of this story.

5/5 ⭐️✨

I absolutely loved this book! I enjoyed the ride of miss Lyra and Taran romance so much that I couldn’t stop reading. Their romance was such a beautiful story of how to be patient with people at their lowest and even though you think you can’t love someone else there will be people out there that would love you in every way, even at your weakest.

Lyra is someone I can relate to when it comes to love and how guarded she is with her heart, she knows what she wants and she is great at expressing herself on what she feels.

Taran is such a goofy perfect guy that I can’t help but love him and how he loves Lyra. He has compassion and he is such an open hearted guy that I’m like in love with him.

Their story was such a wonderful experience and I would absolutely read this book from time to time to indulge in their sweet story.

Love their side characters and how everyone interacted with each other. I can’t wait for the next book and for a particular character in this book!

I can’t recommend enough to read this book!

My thoughts: Thank you so much to @authorleighs and @sunnybabepr for the opportunity of being an ARC reader for this incredible romance novel.

1. The characters are absolutely perfect, except Derek who can burn in hell. Both MCs have been through such tough times, including Lyra’s journey with Turner’s syndrome, her cheating husband and pending divorce, and being an absolute bad ass who is not afraid to speak her mind. Taran is soft and caring, a devoted mummy’s boy and has also been through heartache and grief. Together they bring out the best in one another and make the other stronger than they already are!

2. Who doesn’t love a story with a fur-baby bestie 🐶 Brody is a very good boy and deserves unlimited treats 🐾

3. This book has very open discussions about the choice to not have children. Although Lyra is unable to have children; she also has made the tough choice to continue her journey through life childless - and I honestly loved this approach & I think it really strengthened the storyline.

4. I was also so grateful to learn more of Turner’s syndrome, and the effects that it has on those with the diagnosis. Reading the authors note and her own experiences with this was so incredibly moving 😢

5. I devoured this book in one sitting; I just had to read on and watch Taran and Lyra’s journey develop & I absolutely recommend this to allow of my followers 🩷

This novel is due for release on April 30th so make sure to add to your baskets!! 🤩🥳

Before I started reading The Parcel I was in a reading slump. This book 100% got me out of it and I finished it in less than 24 hours.

Lyra Spinelli is in her mid-thirties and has recently split from her husband Derek after he admitted that he'd been having an affair. Lyra has Turner Syndrome and the two of them were fine with remaining child free, so when Derek's announces that his mistress is pregnant, it is gutting.

After moving into her new house, Lyra gets a glimpse of Taran Malloy, the local UPS driver. After a flirty exchange and Taran instantly bonding with Lyra's dog Brody, she thinks that a) he must be late twenties so way too young for her, and b) her divorce isn't even final yet so what is she doing?

The backstories to both of these characters are fantastic and dive into their familial relationships really well. I felt completely immersed, especially in the scenes where all the family got together. I loved the aspect of found family too.

I had never heard of Turner Syndrome before so this was really eye opening for me and having a female love interest with such a syndrome really sets The Parcel apart from other romance novels.

Taran is an absolute golden retriever of a man and his personal growth was lovely to read. Beautiful!

The Parcel was a breath of fresh air so to speak. As an almost forty-year-old, it was nice to read about a woman closer to my age. You meet Lyra as she is going through a very unexpected divorce. She is settling into her new home with her dog, Brody. Despite her inner monologue, Lyra Spinelli is a strong and courageous woman. She has lived with a lifelong genetic disorder. Besides maybe her sister, she has some crappy parents. She also has a pretty incredible job working in the healthcare sector. Along comes Taran Malloy. The UPS driver with a nice ass! Taran is immediately drawn to Lyra and is determined to get to know her. Taran is the sweetest man ever. I couldn't wait for Lyra to finally give in. Taran has his work cut out for him, but he never backs down. Determined to be friends if nothing more. I loved their chemistry. They both had their own baggage, but it was so fun to watch them grow as friends and as a couple throughout their story.
It was so cool to know that the author wrote this story based on her own health background. It makes it that much more of an accurate depiction. Truly loved The Parcel!

From the jump I was ready to fight anyone who hurt Lyra. Also from the jump, I was in love with Taran. I will go to the ends of the earth to protect these two with my whole heart!

This story was tooth-rotting sweet! I was kicking my feet, giggling, and blushing the majority of the time. The chemistry between Lyra and Taran was *chef’s kiss*!

I am inspired and in awe of every aspect of their story. From overcoming their individual trauma(s) and trials to the families they created for themselves. This is a FULL story in every sense. (I will be referring back to Lyra’s meeting with her therapist as my own free session.)

I cannot recommend this book enough!! So excited for the second book already!! 💜💜

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Leigh Suznovich for this ARC!

LOVES:
- The porn jokes and the “bend and snap” reference 😂
- The speech his mom gives him about caring for himself and the conversations they have about grief
- The fact that he’s a dancer 🕺 plus, the Riverdance and Michael Flatley references
- Lyra’s whole soapbox about not wanting children 👏
- The way Taran puts both of their fears to rest and is just there for her 🩷

CRITIQUES:
- Her ex-husband, ugh 😑
- She is so hard on herself about having emotions. Just feel your feelings!
- Woof, her parents’ divorce
- The pacing felt a little slow at times

It’s sweet that this story is inspired by the author’s own life 🥹

This is such a heartwarming book with excellent communication between the two characters. Lyra the FMC was betrayed by her ex and it does not make her bitter she does have her reservations and she lets Taran know immediately once he communicates that he is interested in her.

Lyra has Turner Syndrome and if like me you were unaware of this syndrome Leigh does an amazing job explaining it and goes into great detail to show the representation. Even with the age gap (she’s 36 he’s 28) and the reservations these two come together in the most beautiful story. Cannot forget Brody which is Lyra’s dog will have you giving Taran even more heart eyes.

~~What to expect~~
📦Reverse Age Gap (8yrs)
📦Turner Syndrome Rep
📦Cinnamon Roll MMC
📦Found Family
📦Communication

Thanks to Love Notes PR for the ARC!

This book exudes empowerment and charm and Taran's and Lyra's dynamic was really cute. It had a delightful mix of playful banter and romance, which really helped draw me into the story.

One of the most impactful aspects of this book is its representation. I loved the portrayal of women facing societal expectations and challenges, including those with rare genetic disorders and those choosing unconventional paths and It's a reminder that diversity and authenticity are important.

Overall, The parcel is such a cute book and it was honestly so heartwarming and relatable.

Plus, who can resist a loving dog?

This was such a sweet debut! It had all the heartwarming, swoony feels. From their first interaction, I was drawn to Taran and his charisma. Taran & Lyra are clearly drawn to each other, but Lyra’s hesitant to pursue anything because she’s in the midst of a divorce. I adore Taran’s patience and willingness to be her friend. I loved watching these two get to know each other and develop feelings.

I genuinely appreciated this book. It was different from the types of things that I usually end up reading so I was slightly unsure at first but I ended up really enjoying it. I did dock a point just because personally Im used to more in depth / frequent spice. But I really liked the fact that as I woman I learned about this disease I hadnt previously heard of at all that I didnt even know could happen to us and the book did a great job at describing what that day to day life sometimes. This was overall just so real and I definitely recommend.
