Savages MC #0.5

Savage Heart

Rate this book
My name is Eve Parker, and I'm as normal as can be. Well, at least I was.

His name is Ash, and he's the enforcer for the Savage Legion motorcycle club. I never imagined a man like him would even look at me, let alone pursue me relentlessly. One touch of his hand leaves me melting, but I know he is bad news. I almost let things go too far the very first time we met, then he disappeared on me.

He's not the sort of boy any good girl usually goes after; I should leave it alone, but I can't get him out of my head. Apparently he feels the same way because he keeps showing up wherever I go. I've done my research about his club: the Savages are an outlaw 1%er biker club, which means they're not good. In fact, they're only good at being bad. I need to stay away if I know what's good for me, but...

He's magnificent. He makes me feel incredible, at least when he's not pissing me off. I don't get his choices or his lifestyle, but there's so much more to this man than the patches and the motorcycle. The more glimpses he gives me of what's beneath the shell, the more I want to find out.

But when bad things start happening within the club, my fascination for Ash could very well end up getting me killed...

Sara Fawkes has always loved spinning tales, but her romantic roots come from sneaking her mother's old Johanna Lindsay books from the dresser drawer. She's been writing stories since she was a little girl (and has the home made books from preschool to prove it), and loves creating stories and characters and interesting messes for them to get into. An avid traveler and adventure motorcyclist, her dream job includes selling everything off and leaving civilization to see the world on two wheels, writing in cafes in each country she visits, and living off her writing. In the meantime however, she lives in California with her menagerie of pets and, when not writing, loves to rebuild old motorcycles/cars with her Dude and plays with the characters in her head. A hot start for a new very intriguing series, filled with chemistry and tension. I can't wait to read the next book.

Ash is a real Savage, as the enforcer of his club, he fits the bill very good. He is gruff, direct, brooding and a big manwhore. He doesn't trust Eve at all, at least at first..

Eve Parker on the other hand, is determined to succeed at all cost as a journalist. When she meets Ash all bets are off though. They seem to share something special right away, but she is apprehensive to follow her heart.

He changes all that with the way he pursuits her, but is the MC life the what Eve wants? And is everyone ok with her profession? Is her life in real danger because of her connecion with an outlaw?

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- Ash is very rough at the beginning but he changes as the story proceeds.
- I don't like Magnus at all.
- Dual POV.
- A few things were a little off..
- The book also needs a good editing.
- The other girl's hair inside the helmet, Yikes.

Story: ★★★★
Characters: ★★★★★

Overall rating: 4.3

"Some in the club had old ladies or girlfriends who were quiet and did whatever they were told, but that wasn't Ash's style. He wanted to respect his partner, not just have a shadow that followed him around silently."

What a story! This book was a pleasant surprise. I was just looking for something quick to read over my morning coffee, and this Novella fit the bill. It grabbed me and reeled me in from the first page, and two cups of coffee later and I was trying to catch my breath.

Eve is a investigative reporter trying to find her one big story that will help her get noticed and be the big break, not to mention help her to keep her desperately needed job. Eve's grandmother is in a retirement home, but Alzheimer's has set in and she needs to be moved right away. Eve's finances are bare bones at best. So getting this story would be quite helpful all the way around.

Ash meets pretty Eve at a biker bar, rescuing her from a brother, that is in desperate need of a bath, shave, and toothbrush, and is aptly named "Rancid". After getting rid of "Cid", Ash takes a seat and gets to know a bit more about Eve.. finding out that she's a reporter with a million questions. But, poor Eve is pretty much tongue-tied when it comes to the handsome and ooooh soooo sexy biker dude!

Things go pretty easy for this couple, he's an Alpha Biker, and she's no pushover. But they click, and even though this book is a novella, I actually *felt* that click with these two.

One major compliment to this book is the sex scenes. They were definitely HAWT, but they were well placed. The story was built on the characters and what was going on in their lives, the sex was a bonus, which made me appreciate this story that much more.

Really enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to continuing this series to see where Ash and Eve go next!

**FANS OF AHW & CASTAWAY, YOU'LL DEVOUR THIS NOVELLA!!**

Sara Fawkes is back with writing another elicit, passionately charged, action packed adventure. Just as Ms. Fawkes is well-known for her "Anything He Wants," & "Castaway," Series, she's come along and did it again, and has written another masterpiece!! Ms. Fawkes' character development with her lead characters, along with her secondary characters is absolutely astounding!! She doesn't disappoint w/this novella, leading us, the reader to the edge of our seats, twitching our legs, as we anxiously await for the arrival of the next installment to Eve & Ash's whirl-wind romance. As usual her writing is PHENOMENAL! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS NOVELLA 10 STAR RATING!!

Well written and edited with a massive cliffhanger.

Although the story is technically executed well, it's just not very believable. I think the issue is that this is actually a full-length book crammed into a novella, which makes the entire thing feel implausible and rushed.

The female lead character is supposed to be a professional journalist, but there's very little evidence of that. One of the qualities that attracts the big, bad biker is her independent spunky nature, but other than the occasional exchange of witty repartee, her actions as a professional bely that characterization.

There's a familial relationship between the biker she falls for and the club president that is sort of glossed over, which would have made an interesting side story. The fact that the biker she falls for is regularly threatening to kill her when she's not around is a little off putting to the love story.

The series has potential because there are definitely some really interesting characters introduced, but this installment is just too much for 150 pages.

This was a short quick read that I liked. Eve Parker who is a plain Jane makes one last attempt to keep her job as a TV journalist by trying to flesh out an investigative story about "one perimeters." There's instant attraction between Eve and Ash which is a complication for them both, and both find that through an unforeseen set of circumstances that conflict's with a rival biker club, Eve and Ash both worry about what the future holds for the club as well for them. I loved Ash. He's so protective of Eve and sweet at the same time. Eve is a great female she is strong, determined and loyal to Ash. As the story progresses these two become an item and with the club being at war things get a lot more complicated. This was a really good book the sex scenes were hot I also liked the other character's in this book as well. This is a new series for me and I have read other books by this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Great new MC read.

Eve needs a good story her job as a reporter for a local news station is under threat which is why she finds herself in a bar talking to Rancid a biker who certainly lives up to his name but just as she's trying to extricate herself from him she's rescued by a totally different kind of guy, Ash is the Savage Legion MC's Sergeant of Arms and now as Eve looks at Ash she's left struggling to remember why she's there in the first place, the attraction is instant and hot.
Eve quickly realises she's in over her head and needs to stay away but that's easier said than done especially when Ash keeps turning up at her apartment. The advantage of dual POV's is that we also get to see that it's not plain sailing for Ash either, there's a lot going on with the club and the fact that Eve is a reporter isn't going down well. While both Eve and Ash realise the sensible option is for them to stay apart they just can't but it's going to be a bumpy ride.
I loved this book, yes it's short and needs editing but I loved it and I can't wait for the next one.

“Is this some weird “marking my territory” kind of guy thing?” Eve was staring up at him, a questioning smirk quirking her lips, and Ash grinned back.
“Maybe,” he murmured, his smile widening as he saw the dark marks on her neck and breast.
“I like everyone to know what’s mine.”

God damn!
This is a book that I Need more of.
It's not a want, it's a Must!

Eve is looking for the story of her career, one that will land her the job she's been working to hard for. Her story takes her to a local motorcycle club, digging for some dirt on some of the men, she uncovers something she never dreamed of, Ash. The smoking hot dark haired, blue eyed biker.

Ash is highly respected in the club, being the son of the president holds some sway, the club is first for him, as it should be. Or could something be changing for him?
"Savages Forever .... Forever Savage"

The connect is instant between them, and Ash makes it know he wants her, on more than one occasion, and makes sure he shows up everywhere, planting himself in her life.

As things heat up between these two, Eve realises the dangers she has exposed herself to for the sake of her desire to have Ash and is left in the middle of a War.
Ash is faced with his clubs worry over Eve's job. Concerned she may turn on them and give her story of what she has seen, the club questions Ash on what to do about her, ending with execution if she can't keep quiet.
Eve now has everything she wants, the perfect story to give her the career that she wants, but she also wants her dark knight.
Which will she choose?
Her career or her man?

Grab this story, yes it's short, but I promise you, it is well worth it.
Plus, there is another one coming soon, Savage Pride!

This is the first book I've ever read by Sara Fawkes and was a new style of writing in a very varied MC genre.

The story follows Eve Parker a disillusioned news reporter sent to seek a dramatic news story to keep her job, she decides bikers are a hot topic and in a bar meets Ash, Sergeant in Arms for the Savage MC. He is talk, dark, hot and very very dangerous but the lure of a bad boy can be too much for some..

They both have reasons not to trust each other, family issues that are kept well hidden and enemies out to hurt them badly. I won't spoil anyone's read but I fully felt part of this novel, the characters were engaging, the story had enough to keep me rivets for the next part and for such a short read it had plenty of action and racy scenes to keep you engaged.

All in all it was a great start to a MC series, an author well worth a read of.

I must admit, I would not normally reach for a biker romance. However, since I did, I could not put it down. I needed to keep reading it all the way to the end, and now I am hooked. Eve, seemingly perfect and straight laced, Ash the proverbial bad boy with a dark past... what an unlikely couple. Yet, together they two halves to a romantic and almost haunting story that I can't wait to keep reading. I almost dropped my rating by a star since I felt like I did not have enough back story on the characters, and what makes them tick, but then I realized that this is not a full novel, and that is why it is called a novella..... Oh well... patience is not one of my strengths, but I will have to wait for more!

We were gifted a copy by author for an honest review.

Let me just start off by saying this is the first book I have ever read by Sara Fawkes and she did not disappoint!

First we have Eve, she is a investigative reporter for a local news station and she is trying to find a good story to keep from loosing her job.

Now we have Ash, well damn this guy is hot as hell! He is one domineering alpha! He is also the sergeant of arms for the local chapter of the savages.

Savage Heart captures your attention from the very first page it's also a quick and easy read. I really enjoy biker books and Sara did not miss a beat by writing a phenomenal story but she will leave you hanging and wanting more! I'm looking forward to reading more!

I know it's a prequel but I didn't feel like we got a story here, and felt let down as a result. It was very macho biker, me man, you property, kind of book, and with Eve's job as an investigative reporter she's viewed suspiciously by the other members of the MC.

I think for me there was a little too much macho, I didn't get the impression that Eve was such a weak character that she'd submit to that, and also felt we went from meeting to claiming far too quickly. Was it ever explained to her?

The stalker type activities didn't endear me to Ash, if anything that put me off him.

The problem with the grandmother was too easily resolved for someone who hadn't even become a part of the club. The struggle between the President and VP was a little too reminiscent of SOA.

I loved the authors Anything You Want series so when I saw her name on an MC book ... well I can't explain the emotions that ran through me. I prepared myself for the fact that it would end on a cliff hanger ... even though I really do hate that. So now, here I am, dying for some more Ash ... 'cause OMFG HOT!!!!

*Fans self* I'm a sucker for a sexy alpha and was not disappointed. Well until I once again realized why I vowed not to read any more novellas released apart. I just cant wait to see what happens next.

Good storyline, dialogue, character development.

Gimmi more Sara! Quickly!

This was a great short story.
Eve, wanting to further her career as an investigative reporter, decides her big break is going to be exposing all the dirty secrets of the local MC, the Savages. What she finds instead is Mr. Tall, dark and extremely dangerous. Ash is the club enforcer. Eve finds herself swept away by Ash, but his biker lifestyle is like a whole new world for her. A very dangerous world, as the Savages gear up for war with another local club. And Eve finds right in the middle of the war.
I'm looking forward to reading more about Ash, Eve and the Savages.

Wow! I read this as part of Riding Desires boxed set and I'm hooked! I need more! Ash is not just a biker, he's ex-military, hot and caring. This is going to be one series that I read from start to finish. This was like a little teaser of what's to come and it will be one wild ride! I loved that we got to know Eve's Grandma, that just gave the story a wee bit more heart but didn't take it mushy, it was just perfect.

Yup I now have to wait until Julty to read the full length book in this new series bu Sara Fawkes. I actually enjoyed this one. It moved quickly and I never felt boared while reading it. I felt like it had just enough in this short novella to keep me reading and wanting to come back for more. This is my first book by this author and i look forward to seeing what the future has in store for Ash and Eve.

Ash was hot, Hot, HOT! Whew! This was a great read but the chapters were odd. A chapter about Eve in third person and then later a chapter about Eve in first person. It kinda threw me. I also found it hard to believe that Eve was so calm about a man being shot in front of her...we didn't really get a feel of how she felt. Despite this I definitely will read the next book as overall it was a great read!!!

Wanted to love this book because I am admittedly a " insta cover lover". Sadly, they didn't really connect on a tight level, lot of outside action but it just didn't feel wrapped neat and becoming... the great package. I've read many other enjoyable books by this author and I may continue to read more. This one just fell short.

Book 7/14, by Sara Fawkes, a good 3.5. Half way through this boxed set & the first of what I consider an actual 'bad boy biker' story. It started off a little rough for my taste but all in all it worked. I'm even considering on continuing with the series.

It was a semi good story, but the "hero" and the heroine's scenes together (not just the sex scenes) were a little violent, like borderline I'm gonna kill you right after I screw you, but you're gonna like it...?

This was an enjoyable read though there were a few story points that I felt were implausible. It is definitely a story I would like to continue when the next installment comes outl

What could have been a really good book turned out to be mediocre due to the badly done editing. Dreadful or non-existent editing seems to be a real problem for this genre.
