Interesting retelling of Alice in Wonderland

This was a good read, with some nice m/m twists on the typical Wonderland tale. The main characters were relatively well fleshed out, but some of the supporting characters seemed muddled to me. And there were a lot of supporting characters, so it was definitely easy to get some of them confused.

Of course, in a book like this, one should talk about the sex scenes, most of which were hot. There was one scene in particular that went a little too far into the masochism scene for my tastes. Others may like that stuff, though. To each their own.

The one thing I couldn't get over with this book is the spelling errors. Luckily, unlike the last self-published book I read, the grammar rules were followed mostly well (aside from incorrect usage of semi-colons and weird clauses) so that didn't distract me too much from reading. But the spelling issues I encountered really took me out of the story. Especially when it came to using "defiantly" for "definitely" (one of my biggest peeves) and using the wrong forms of "their", "there", and "they're". These happened way too often to count and ended up affected my rating of the book.

However, I did enjoy the story and may take a gander for the continuation, which is what the ending seemed to hunt at.

I think it is better to read this book instead of reading the separate books that comprises this novel. The many different people, names and areas are easier to comprehend and get into as one book.

That being said, I love this book and can't wait for the next one. I think this book can stand well if it removed the gay aspects, or it could stand well if it removed the wonderland aspect and was about gay men meeting at a bar. The combination is unique and great.
