Recommended to me by one of my virtual 2nd grade students. They had some free read time on Epic, and I could see she was laughing and having a great time, so I asked what she was reading/listening to. Catbug. I had never heard of this series so had to take a look. Anytime a book gets a recommendation by a student, it has to have something going for it. So, is there some potty humor? Yep. Is there some great silliness? Definitely! Probably not for everyone, but it definitely got her laughing and when I tha led her for introducing me she said "it's SO silly!" Might be just the thing for some of our reluctant and/or struggling readers.

Picked this for a read aloud based on all the positive things I've heard. Really wish I had pre read the book. It had cute pictures and started out school appropriately. Then there was bathroom humor and some bad choices. Which I'm probably over reacting to but I teach autism support. So good for older students and probably not at read aloud.

"Simon Says" but with a Catbug twist in only the way Catbug can! Catbug makes outrageous and fun commands to the reader and ends the book on the happiest of notes. Being friends with Catbug? Yes please! From jumping on the bed to dancing to dressing up in barracuda costumes, the adventure never ends with Catbug!
