—“There was not a human emotion I did not go through while reading this book. I will forewarn you, you will need a box of tissues and a punching bag while reading this dynamic tale.”-Romance Junkies
—“I loved every single book on this collection. Each story could be read individually but reading each book in order gave great perspective to the next. As I started this series one at a time I will give each book a separate review. But I will say here that I loved Eckhart's writing style and her ability to develop a cohesive story line around strong characters is refreshing! I am looking forward to reading more of her books.” – Reviewer, Cheryl

Ms. Eckhart is one of my favorite Indie authors. I've read each of these books and so I know you'll enjoy them all. The characters are true to life and her plots keep you totally involved. Each conflict is full of emotion and so you really find yourself caring about the outcome. Below is a copy of the review I wrote for Bounty: I always hoped that Diane Larson would have her own story in the "Walk the Right Road" series and wasn't at all disappointed by this wonderful tale. She's a prickly character with a warm heart and a lot of baggage....best kind of people to write about since they're interesting as all get-out. Diane's been a good friend to Marcie and a good partner to Sam. So when the time comes for her own conflicts to start, I was happy to see her meet a great hero in Zac. He's the kind of guy who will support her while she deals with the ghosts from her past and her early years where she grew up in the prison of a polygamist family. Now her new case, a girl left dead on a lonely road, forces her to go back to everything she ran away from. This story picks you up, and like most of Ms.Eckhart's books, carries you along smoothly so it's impossible to stop reading.
What or which is the "right road".It's so easy to be judgmental when making decisions is done by someone else. None of the main characters want to mess up, do the wrong thing. Well... they are humans and they make mistakes. They are not Lily white and that's what makes them so real, likeable. I would recommend this collection to anyone but one warning. Once you start reading you'll never stop - that's why I'm behind with Christmas decorations. Seriously now, it's fantastic collection to read and enjoy. So buy it, read it and you'll not regret it!

This box set includes the first two books of the "Walk the Right Road" series, and 3 short stories thing them together. Both books deal with the dirty underworld of drugs and despicable individuals trying to ruin decent people. This author is extremely talented at making the characters real and relatable, and if young every emotion. I definitely recommend this series, though you may want to check the author's reading order in which the short stories should be read, as they definitely set the stage for each book.
This boxset alternated between keeping me turning pages and not holding my interest. I'm not sure all the stories really tied into each other that much and it felt like the books all ended on a cliffhanger and then the storyline was sort of dropped in the next book, especially with Diane and Zac's book.
Overall, it was ok, but I won't necessarily go out of my way to read another book from this author.
Heartbreaking at times, but insightful, . I went through all the emotions, extreme heart break, hope , treachery and compassion. This book was well written and told a cautionary tale of a family's, struggle. Loved it deserves every star given
What an absolutely fabulous collection of stories. I found each and every story to be a brilliant read and can highly recommend each one. Do yourself a huge favour and read this collection.
I can’t believe I am finally done this book. I am a fast reader but this book took the life out of me. I don’t remember ever reading a book this long before. It was a good book that didn’t seem like it had much filler, but it could have been shorter – WAY shorter.
It begins off with Dan and Marcie. He is sending her away with his backpack and it is her job to get it to the right person since the bag contains marijuana. Marcie loves Dan and will do anything for him, even if it meant trafficking drugs. When she gets to her destination, she gets attacked, hit on the head and loses her memory. This is where Sam comes in. He is a cop on a break and when he sees Marcie he cannot ignore what happens to her. IT turns out that they were more intertwined than they knew. Marcie tries so hard to get her memory back and when she does, it turns into a huge investigation to catch Dan in the act of trading marijuana. Dan’s boss, Lance Silver has been on Sam’s hit list for many years as he tried to capture him in the act with no luck. Lance Silver planted weed in Sam’s locker and that was why he was on the break from being a cop in the first place.
It sounds a bit confusing but I assure you, it’s not. The entire book they are trying to catch Lance Silver or Dan in the act of smuggling drugs. That is basically it. And Marcie is some type of spiritual witch that has a angel helping her through her journey of figuring out good and evil. It is a good book, don’t get me wrong, but I like fast paced books and this book was nowhere near fast paced. I got the bundle on kindle but I don’t think I will read the second book. Maybe one day I will come back to it, but for now, I can only handle just this one. On to something more fast-paced. Ta!
I'm giving this two stars rather than one because there was an actual storyline in there somewhere and I was interested enough to finish the books, although I skimmed through the last quarter of The Choice and skimmed all of Lost and Found. I wanted to find out what happened, but I had to force myself to finish. The "prequels" were one-two pages each and I'm just glad I didn't pay for this set or I would have been very angry. The prequels could have been left out completely or worked into the novels.
The Choice could use a professional edit. The descriptions were tedious, detailed, and repetitious. The book could have been about half as long because we heard the whole story at least twice. Every time a character would tell another something, we had to hear the exact same thing being told to a third character later. The sentences were stilted and a grammatical mess. There were also issues with the dialogue, and having trouble telling who was speaking, but part of that may have been an ebook formatting issue.
Marcie's constant refrain of "x is innocent so I won't tell you anything" was really annoying and pretty stupid considering the circumstances. I was glad when someone finally attempted to put a stop to that. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure I liked any of the characters. Marcie was sympathetic at first, but she became annoying pretty quickly and Sam was pretty much a jerk most of the time.
I couldn't make myself waste any more of my time reading Lost and Found but I did skim it enough to know what happened. It didn't seem to have as many issues as The Choice, but I didn't look as closely.
This is a set of five related novels, set mainly in the Pacific Northwest, and centered on the same cast of characters. Each novel could stand alone, but the reader will find the overall story more coherent if they are read in sequence. Unfortunately, coherence is a bit of an issue here. Plots involving drug smuggling, political corruption, fraud, polygamous sects, earth-religion/spirituality, and concealed identities should generate suspense and excitement, but these loosely connected, meandering and contrived tales end up flat and uninteresting. Most of the characters have the potential for interesting complexity, but instead the men are all basically chest-thumping over-protective alpha-male types, and the women vacillate between unreasoningly stubborn independence and simpering "stand-by-your-man" deference. Everybody conceals secrets from those they supposedly love and trust, and in the end it is hard to like or empathize with any of these people. What should have been a block-buster New York Times bestseller is a limping disappointment, and the blame for so much wasted potential lies in careless and undisciplined writing, and careless editing. UGH.
This is a gripping suspenseful tale filled with intrigue, spirits (good and evil), intense drama and passion. It’s an engrossing story that will keep you enthralled from beginning to end, with its roller coaster of emotions, edge of your seat tension, heartbreaking loss, and riveting twists and turns that will keep you dizzy with anticipation of how it’s all going to end. The characters are well-drawn, and the storyline is a real page turner. I highly recommend this amazing series. It’s definitely well worth reading.
Not a bad story, dragged out in some parts. But my biggest criticism is the editing - I found the bad editing very distracting and in some places, whole sentences just did not make sense. Causing me to read and re-read lines several times without making sense of them. If you can overlook this its not bad
The first book was cheesy and I didn't enjoy it but the set received so many stars I thought it would get better. I did like the second story better than the first but the third story started like the first did with auras, herbs, and potions. I decided to read something I would enjoy so I did something I hardly ever do, I didn't finish the set.
Actually 3.5 The first part was good and I flew through it but the second half took forever to read and seemed to drag with not much action and I didn't really care about the characters
Wow! I have read a ton of books by this author but these were certainly different. Quite a twisted tale. Well written, great characters, great storyline.
