very helpful for me and mirrors what I’ve learned in therapy
This book acts as a guide for individuals seeking to improve their emotional well-being, offering practical exercises and valuable advice. While it presents itself more as a self-help book rather than a detailed professional manual, it provides readers with effective tools for mindfulness, self-love, and managing emotions. The concept that was most helpful to me was regarding boundaries and how important that type of self-care is in achieving emotional health. The combination of personal experiences and professional insights makes it a useful resource for both people aiming to enhance their mental health and counselors looking for strategies to support their clients.
What I liked- this book (actually, 3 books in 1 volume) is clear and easy to understand. What I didn’t- the book was pretty simplistic, and for a person familiar with DBT, there is no new information or information that can’t be found on the internet. What I noticed- the graphics look like they were homemade using Microsoft Office or another basic program. Verdict- this book is a good beginner’s introduction to DBT, but not very useful to someone who has already been introduced to it.

Quite a good deal with its price as it covers lots of topics, information and many useful exercises. It keeps things simple and easy to understand. The author also gives some heartfelt personal sharing and advice. It’s like having someone to walk with you during your journey of self-reflection and self-healing. I would recommend it to people who are finding ways to cope with their emotional challenges but haven’t tried DBT, but it doesn’t mean to substitute professional therapy. If you feel really stuck, get professional help.
I liked that this was 3 books in 1 and is clearly separated for ease. I believe this is an introduction book to DBT and a bit repetitive in some portions. The graphs seem to be cut off on some pages, that may just be the copy I received though. Overall I enjoyed reading the examples of possible triggers and completed exercises.
This is a good book. I love the way it breaks it down and makes it easier to understand things. I love the way it separates it into three books. Five stars for this author for sure.

This is a must have resource. I highly recommend it. I'm keeping it in my own toolbox . I'm a RN Case Manager and this is a great resource for all case managers to use.
my first time reading Barrett Huang books.I was skeptical at first but found it to be a pretty decent book. I've had the pleasure of reading several dbt books but found Huang work to be just as credible.
A few close family members have struggled with Anger management and depression for as long as I can remember. Often there are not enough information available for the persons closest to them but with this DBT manual my family members and myself can begin to do work that needed to become better.
