Growing up without a mother, Camden never learned the rules of sex until introduced to them by a bad boy who took advantage of her innocence—breaking her.
Will spiraled into a world of darkness following an unbearable hurt…in turn using women and alcohol to dull the pain.
Two wounded people…coming together under awkward circumstances…healing each other…until the bad boy from Camden’s past finds her…
Does Will have the power to fight for someone worth fighting for?
Camden Biggs, the daughter of a professional baseball player…lost her mother at age 9. Eager to be loved, she fell in love with the hottest, bad boy she’d ever met at age 15, Max. Totally off limits and living under the same roof, she succumbed to his manipulations until he was forced out of her life—hanging on to a promise to only give herself to him.
Will Denton raised by a trailer trash father and a trust fund mother had a taste of both worlds and all sorts of women—especially when he dove into a world of darkness following a tragedy and loss of his own.
Camden, now a senior at the University of Kansas where she tutors the hottest, most talented athletes hides behind her outgoing roommate Kate—who is sexually active enough for both of them; Camden lives vicariously through Kate while still trying to heal her wounds from the past—until Will Denton comes home with Kate one night. Though he slept with Kate, he sets his sights on Cam.
Camden finally succumbs to the gorgeous eyes and body of Will Denton. And as Will is finally starting to tear down the walls that Cam has built over the years…Bad Boy Max makes a reappearance to reclaim what was once his.

Do you believe in soul mates? Do you believe that things happen for a reason? Do you believe that our loved ones watch over us from Heaven after they leave this Earth?
Will Denton, 23 yrs old, is attending Kansas University for his Master's Degree. Will also competes in Cross-Fit Games nationally. He is a tall, super sexy, super fit player who numbs his pain by getting between any willing girl; he doesn't believe in kissing. Will's motto is get in, get off, & get out. Will is all about getting himself off in order to forget the horrible empty space in his heart.
Camden Biggs, 21 yrs old, lost her mother when she was 9 yrs old. Cam moved away from her lonely home to start fresh at Kansas University a few years ago. Cam puts all her energy into school; she tutors big sexy Jayhawks but hasn't been kissed for years. Cam made a bad choice in love with Max years ago and hasn't been able to trust a guy since...let alone felt any desire to kiss a guy.
Will & Cam meet after Will goes home with Cam's roommate, Kate, for the evening. Cam isn't falling for Will's charm and he instantly finds her interesting....a challenge. Now some readers had a problem with the fact that Will was sexing it up with Kate & then suddenly wanted to be with Cam. I thought the author did a great job of writing this scenario. If I had just gone off the not so favorable reviews, I would have missed out on a phenomenal book. There is one thing you need to know about Cam's roommate Kate....she is the female version of a player. So for those of you that were worried about a cheating scenario, you aren't going to find that here.
Will does break down Cam's walls & they start seeing each other. Things are starting to finally look up for Cam. She is looking forward to the future but then, Max shows back up in town. This creates some serious conflict that isn't so obvious as Max has a connection to Will's past as well.
I really identified with this story having lost a loved one. I loved how Ms. Pelton gives you the feeling that the loved ones who had passed were still looking over the ones left behind. I can't explain this as well as I'd like without giving away part of the story. Ms. Pelton also did a fantastic job writing in the secondary characters and brining them to life. I would have definitely read future books with these characters but after reading the epilogue she tied up everyone's lives very well.
I'm not going to go into the questions I asked in the beginning of this review because I don't want to give away the story. I do believe in soul mates....that there is one person out there that was made for you. I do believe things happen for a reason even if we don't know why? I do believe my loved ones watch over me from Heaven.
This is a HEA, standalone novel that you should definitely give a chance to. There are no paranormal events. Don't go judging the book by others reviews. Go in reading the book with a blank slate....no expectations!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. xx
Right off the bat Where to start..... You have Camden and Kate, childhood friends, and roomies. Cam is shy, Kate likes to get around. Kate meets Will and brings him home. They bang. The next morning Will sees Cam and VOILA! Insta love/lust/need to protect, whatever. You know the drill, after 5 seconds there's just something about her that's SO different. BLAH! Will wants to see Cam again but doesn't know how. So mister smarty pants texts Kate. Of course hes gonna have to bang Kate just to lay eyes on Cam. And he does! Will had that OTT wanna be alpha male attitude that he couldn't quite pull off. I found it unbelievable and generic. Here are some examples of what you have to look forward to: One night after drinking, Will makes sure Kate is extra drunk so that she passes out and he can hang out with Cam. Cam gets sick and is throwing up. While he's helping her out, her puking makes him puke. Will and Cam of course want to be together and when they tell Kate(who hooked up with Will several times) that they are together she says she is happy for them and send them off to fuck. Then goes to her room to cry. Stupid girl. Once Will asked Cam for a selfie, so she sends him a picture of her toes. His reply?? "that'll get me through the night". Seriously?? Do you have a dick? Are you sure you like girls?? Cam meets Will's mom, for like 5 minutes. The mom invites her back for another visit. Cam cries on the ride home so overtaken with emotion that his mom wants to see her again. Fucking stupid. The other weird storyline involves Cam and her step brother. They had a very "loving" past relationship. Had the book maybe focused on that story and building the relationship with Will, and healing, it might have worked. But this book had way too much ridiculousness going on. Bad characters. Stupid shit. OTT unbelievable crap. Nothing about this worked for me. The last 30% I skimmed and I thanked my lucky stars when I hit that last page.
4 or maybe even a little more Lover, Dear, Sweetheart Stars!
I really liked this...a lot! Sometimes I find myself veering toward a specific genre or I get caught up in one type of character, then BAM, I get a book that surprises the hell out of me!
Pure Will is a fast love story. Yes, it has that "typical bad boy" and the "good girl" but these two characters are so equal. William and Camden are complete contrasts to one another from upbringing to experiences...yet they are both inherently good, both easy to be loved and give love, and most importantly both are smart. It is a good thing that both have fight inside them because start to finish their tale was a match of wills and circumstance! Will Denton isn't looking for anything more than a quick "get off" and his flavor of the day Kate is pretty cool...a romp at her apartment brings him to face to face with a pint size ball of pure fire. Camden is a beautiful girl whose young innocence was stolen leaving her guarded. How can she be so drawn to an off the charts buff man-slut banging her roomie??? Sounds crazy right? NOPE! Will and Cam are inevitable...one touch, one spark...they have that forever kind of love that is rare and beautiful! They truly are mates...deep in their souls! For me this book has so many cliché scenarios that would typically have my eyes rolling, but I cannot lie, I was all in with Will and Cam! I loved the immediate love fest, the slow cautious yet sweet intimacy, and the cheesy you are mine talk! I even found myself wrapped up in the angst of OMG...are they done???? Every once in a while I appreciate a romance book that is straight forward. Will and Cam were both good people who deserved happiness. They had sweet passion and those can't live without you emotions...It was very modern day fairy tale...and honestly I loved it!
I loved and enjoyed every single thing about this book. From the main characters: Cam and Will, to the sub characters then to the multi- POV. I never would've thought that multi-POV would work but Kristi Pelton nailed it.
I was either smiling or crying while reading this book. It's so good that you feel every emotion that they're feeling.
I've been waiting a long time to find a book I loved like beautiful disaster or easy. Boy am I glad I found this! Will - I want one *sigh*. He was the perfect mix of bad boy/sweet and awesome boy. His transformation from player to reformed player was done really well, not sickeningly in your face. Cam - so, the main female characters generally aren't done well enough for me, they just tend to be whiny and annoying...I guess all that was put into her best friend kate...but cam was refreshing! Despite everything she's been through, still she has a witty and sarcastic nature to her, but not in an attention seeking way. The story - I loved the back and forth between characters. Even secondary characters you wouldn't expect to read their pov. It was well written. Loved the text conversations. Yes it was super cheesy. And yes I had a silly ass grin on my face while reading those conversations. But hey. I liked it. So sue me. Not too much angst that you just want to shoot something and yell at your kindle "oh for crying out loud!"
So basically? Loved it! Will I read it again? Absolutely!
beautiful that is the one word that comes to mind with this book , i downloaded it by chance as it was in my recommend books on amazon and im so glad i did , i couldnt put it down and spent the whole of mothers day with a box of chocs and this book. right then will is a very smart sexy man but after the death of his brother goes thru a bad patch drinking etc he realises booze isnt doing it so he turns to women after he picks up kate and ends up at her apppartment after when he os leaving he spots her room mate camden an there is somthing about her that makes him stop when he leaves he cant stop thinking about her, camden is lovely she loves her room mate who is total opposite too her and is like a sister who knows all cams secrets, cam was groomed at 16 by her step brother who taught and showed her about sex he taught her rough and violation was normal so 5 years later she has no elationship she avoids intimacy until she see's will leaving kates room and is drawn to him. this book is written so well and the moments between wiil and cam how they heal each other is really lovely , there is also a bit of kates pov after she finds out about will and cam and everyone should have a friend like kate i cant recommend this book enough i had a smile on my face pretty much all the way thru an i fully intend to read it again
Pure Will was definitely one of my newer favorites. It had my three favorite things : romance, sex and comedy. I can't even tell you how many times I actually laughed out loud. It has such a good flow between the charters and moved through the story with such ease. I felt my heart break a few times for Cam. Everything she had to endure but I feel in love with Will being do patient and kind with her. I just have to say though....Wills patents were just adorable! Truly cute love story....are you willing to fight for someone you love?
It's hard to get past the best friend situation TBH. That shit is not right.
Also, I hate that at the author used "She touched my stomach for Christ's sake, and it stole my breath. How gay is that?"
1. That shit is also not right. In fact it is downright offensive. This is a dude's POV and a girl touching him, so NOT GAY AT ALL.
2. I have no time whatsoever for homophobia, even in its simplest form - if such a thing exists (which is doesn't). My normal response to people throwing around things like 'That's so gay' is something along the lines of 'Oh really? ..... has a sexual preference? Please tell me more.'.
I loved this book. Yes it was cheesy and not that complex but sometimes it's nice to read a book with a strong possessive loving male lead and Will was great. It might not be the best romance novel but I still loved it and couldn't put it down because it just made me smile. I think I will be reading this many more times.
I LOVED this book! It was very unique - the way that the main couple met may be a turn off for some but I thought it was really good! Also, the "secret" that Camden had was a good one and I wasn't expecting it! This book wasn't filled with a whole lot of angst but there was enough suspense and mild drama to keep it interesting. This is my first book by Kristi Pelton and I was very impressed. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
I haven't done many reviews but I couldn't stop myself from gushing about it. I have to say that I love the way this author writes and I will have to read more from her. the way she kept surprising me with new twists and turns in the story and how everyone was tired together was worth the read. I loved to be surprised by I book and this one did. I loved loved loved this book.
I loved this book. Yes it was an easy read and not very complex, but sometimes that type of read is just right. It started off similar to other books but had a very interesting little twist. I loved the relationship between Will's parents, they proved to be great role models. Kate was a great friend to Cam, but I did not exactly agree with some things she tried to get Cam to do or the situations she got them into. I would definitely recommend this book.
I know there are mixed reviews on this one. I really did like it. I will have to say though that the first 17% was a little rough. I thought he was an abuser, but I promise that is far from the truth. Will is actually a total hot sexy, alpha male, which I totally loved. The first 17% the writing seemed just a little disjointed, but after that it was fine. Rough start with an amazing ending 4.75 Stars!
Camden and Will have a rocky start, Will is hooking up with her best friend and roommate. The first night as he is doing the walk of shame he sees her, Camden. Little petite angel sleeping on the coach with a pillow thrown over her head. Something about her calls to him, and he wants to see her again, but he doesn't even know who she or her roommate are. They find that they start running into each other at college and decide to see what this feeling they are both experiencing is about. But....they need to break it to her roommate and bff, that they like each other and want to pursue a relationship....
These two were great together both of them are strong, smart, sexy and funny.
"Not simply kiss me either, she straddled my lap as we kissed and I literally giggled like a little girl. I quickly did a check for my man card but it was gone! Toast...."
Will Call it osmosis of sorts. Call it bullsh*&. I don't care she had my heart that's the botom line.
Camden
Camden has a past that still haunts her, some of those fears and insecurities are brought to this knew relationship. Will though is perfect with her, he is just the sweetest thing ever. Everybody else though watch out. I liked the family bond that Will has with his dad and mom. His dad has some heroic moments as well as Will. Yes swoon to both men and their alpha male hotness, lol.
Will too has a past that has lead to some self destructive behavior but Cam seems to be his new drug of choice. "Her wanting me...needing me was like heroine to and addict. Hearing her say that sealed the deal."
"They think with their peckers. And Cam was living in a Will only pecker zone."
"Her dad needed to know who I was and that he could be relieved of duty...I would take care of her"
First and foremost this has subject matter that can be offensive to others so read it at your own risk.
OK so Will, Will, Will.....
I can think of other things that would grab a girl's attention then sleeping with her besxt friend. I mean SERIOUSLY!!! However that is what drew me into the story. Camden is this sweet girl that is just plowing her way through school with hardly any socializing at all. She just wants to get her degree and move on and if she finds a guy then cool but she is not looking.
Will is a womanizer to the extremes. He does what he wants when he wants and he doesn'[t apologize for it until he meets her.
I loved this story and I hated it too. I wanted to beat the shit out of Max. I wanted to hate Will at times but mostly I just wanted to be there for everyone and it tugged my heart strings. This story is totally awesome and I would seriously recommend it to everyone.
Really enjoyed reading this book as in I stayed up late the first night I started and then couldn't wait to finish it when I came home from work the next day!! Must read for people who believe in soul mates and true love!! The plot twists were unexpected and welcome (maybe not by the characters but definitely by me). The book remained engaging to the end! Speaking of the end...I will admit it did bring me to tears...not to ruin it for everyone....so I can't say more. Highly recommend!!
Heartfelt loving sexy all around great story Heartfelt loving story with lots going on. Loved the characters in this book. Very original story line with very realistic actions by the characters. Yes at places I got chocked up and at others I got horny. Very well written and enjoyable to read. Highly recommend this book. No cliff hangers. Just a very entertaining story.
Beta Read this book. Now that it is live, I am going to reread it, and then will post my review. I know others will enjoy this book. It is well written and has one hot WILL for our enjoyment! The synopsis gives you a good idea of what you will be reading in this book. The cover is exciting, as is the story. Kristi Pelton has written for us a story filled with witty and fun bantering between Cam and Will. They meet under an awkward situation. Their feelings for each other can't be denied. They take it slow getting to know one another, which is sweet. We learn about the things in their pasts that have caused them both deep dark pain and how they coped. Their sexual chemistry makes for some steamy scenes. I enjoyed the back story and the character development. I'm extremely fond of the secondary characters as much, if not more at times of Cam and Will. Drew, Abby, Kate, Ham and Eli all have their spot-light moments that had me laughing and other times wiping tears from my face. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a HEA! I know I sure do.
*Beta Read this book. Now that it is live, I am going to reread it, and then will post my review. I know others will enjoy this book. It is well written and has one hot WILL for our enjoyment!*
I really enjoyed this book. It was a lovely romantic story with some emotional issues for both characters. It made me smile and cry at different times. I'd read this author again and I'd recommend this book.
Okay, I bought this book after too many glasses of wine, and even then, it didn't sound like it would be all that good. The amazon and goodreads blurb for this book are kind of....shitty! The blurb is like nothing that the book really is. The blurb makes it sound like some sort of love triangle, and that isn't the case...AT ALL. I loved this book, and yeah, there were some inconsistencies, and some parts of the writing that were a little screwed up, but overall this was a really good book.
This was well written and believable which is a must for me. I always read a preview before I buy a book and I just can’t read a book that’s completely unrealistic. There wasn’t the amount of sex that I figured would be in this book but that’s fine with me because to be honest I like sex scenes but when the entire book is nothing but sex it gets old. The heroine was wounded as all are and I would’ve liked if she was stronger especially at the end but at the same time she was who she was. I would read it again, but then again I’m a sucker for romance novels so….
