About the author

In 1964, Poitier became the first Bahamian to win an Academy Award for Best Actor, for his role in Lilies of the Field. Poitier was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.

I really enjoyed Measure of a Man. And this compilation while thorough, tended to the redundant. I don’t think it could be helped. How many ways can you tell your story? How many times can you introduce fabulous people and hit on brand new information. He is inspiring and I would have loved to have heard any of these, but I found myself skimming near the end. My favorites were the eulogies and remembrances.
