“I would never hurt you… Please don’t flinch like that. You need to come with me, that’s all, and for that I need to touch you.”
Hellhound Faron wasn’t expecting anything when he went to his local diner for a meal before heading home. He might have privately hoped that he could catch sight of his favorite chef, Patrick, but the food was worth eating anyway. What he doesn’t expect, when he’s finished his meal, was to find Patrick sitting in a rusty truck at the back of the diner parking lot, with tears and bruises covering his face. Faron had to do something.
“…when I went to get out of the truck, the coma kicked in. This is all a coma-induced dream. It’s amazing.”
Patrick Duncan didn’t expect his favorite hottie from the diner to find him crying in a rusty truck, and he definitely didn’t expect to collapse in a coma-dream straight afterward. But that had to have been what had happened to him. How else could he find himself in Scotland, having a wonderful meal and being taken on a walk to find a magical tree?
Dreams quickly became reality and Patrick has a lot of adjustments to make, finding out he’s the mate of a hellhound. Shadow puppies aside, Faron still wants to deal with the man responsible for Patrick’s bruises. Unfortunately, that wasn’t as easy as it sounded. And what was the message Patrick’s dead Mom trying to send Patrick in relation to his magic? Magic that Patrick didn’t think he even had.
As with all of my stories, your HEA is guaranteed. It’s not imperative to read the other books in this series before this one, but it helps to get a handle on the secondary characters that populate these pages.#MMparanormalromance #MMFatedMates #MMHellhounds #Hellhoundcollarseries
Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips. When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate. Lisa loves to hear from her readers and other writers. You can friend her on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/lisaoliverauthor), or email her directly at yoursintuitively@gmail.com. This is obviously one of Lisa Oliver's earlier works. I had to stop reading. I could not take the way she suddenly transformed our cook into someone who had the personality of an idiot. I just couldn't do it.
The previous book was a little difficult to read with the little half elf/half fey being SO innocent that it was almost painful when it came to the love scenes. But this book? Seriously? A red blooded American Human living in a town that doesn't have much going in the way of entertainment; he knows about the internet and yet he NEVER once looked up anything to do with sex? Even ACCIDENTALLY? that is basically an impossibility. I just had to stop.
Sorry Lisa, NOT one of your better works.
Truly, I hope you all enjoyed it better than I did.
3.5 stars. SPOILERS: This one wasn’t my favorite. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between Faron and Patrick and the magic part of this story was really vague. It was like, “Oh hey, I’m an empath and can sense your emotions, but I don’t know what to do about so, whatever.” That Wendigo really could have used some calm vibes from Patrick. This was an “eh” book for me. Looking forward to Kolton’s story.
I find the Hellhound series entertaining for a number of reasons. For one, Lisa's main characters are not clones of each other. Fallon is a lot obtuse and a - what is the term? - himbo? Could have that wrong. Each story has a different issue is another reason. Finally the novels are simply for fun. My only issue is the same as always - I like a bit more complexity in the plot plus I love to have the ending take a twist I did not see coming. I also enjoy my characters to be a bit more complex. All in all those are me issues and Lisa delivers an entertaining read as promised.
I love the Hellhounds and Faron and Patricks story was a great addition to the series.I love how all the Hellhounds immediately are smitten with their mates and have the best intentions but are also so clueless about dating and relationships. Luckily the ones after at least have mated pairs to consult now. And as always I love consort Ali and would love more of him
The Hellhound Collar series has had me captivated since the first story. This book continues with the magic love stories. Reading about abuse is difficult, but it added to the plot in this book greatly by putting a life background in context. I was captivated by this story and just wanted to keep reading until the end and then some. Good spelling and grammar added to the reading enjoyment. Lisa Oliver always does a great job in her books.
This is currently the last book in this series and it’s left me wanting more. Each book has been even better than the one before. This may of course be because the characters from the ones before keep reappearing in the new books and I’m already invested in them to the extent that meeting them again in the latest book is like slipping on an old familiar coat on a cold day. The new couple are also there just waiting to be added to the family. You can’t beat that.
I have really enjoyed every book in this series. The author has created a unique interconnected world for her characters. She has several series that have characters popping into this series from time to time. I am always excited to see a new book in this series. I am working my way through the Hellhound Collar Series and really hope all 12 get their own stories.
Such a wonderful book. Loved both MCs and the storyline. Poor Patrick who was saddled for three long years with his stupid and violent brother. And Faron had a lot to learn about being mates but with Ollie and Cain's help he manages to give Patrick confidence and to change his errors. Highly recommended.
Faron and Patrick are so sweet, despite a few communication blips, and a solid addition to the Hellhound Collar series. One of the best things about Lisa’s books is seeing old friends pop in and out, like Lord Hades and Ali here, and they are two of my favorites. Highly recommended.
Faron, a hellhound Texas rancher admires the cook, Patrick, at the local diner. One day he finds Patrick bruised and crying behind the diner. Of course they turn out to be mates but there are obstacles including Patrick's innocence that have to be overcome. It is a good story and a worthy addition to the series.
This book tugged at my heartstrings from the beginning. It was such a wonderful story and Patrick and Faron are so sweet together. Thanks Lisa for another awesome story.
Well for some reason I wasn't as invested in this pair. But that is me not the author or story. I needed a fun romp and it was that and more. I love many of your series so of course could you hurry up with HHC Book 5 😘 hugs
It is a rare day when Lisa Oliver disappoints her readers in anything and today is definitely not that day. This book was sweet, thrilling, and a great addition to the series. Really enjoyed Patrick and far on were great. Can't wait for more!
I truly enjoyed reading this book I have been reading the entire series. I had no negative thoughts about them they were interesting and loving. I cannot wait for the next book.
This is another fantastic love story that begins with family abuse and the suffering one goes through. It’s a story about Magic users and coming into one’s powers. It’s a story about the family. You choose the place you choose to live and family you plan to have..
