Ahhhh I can see a common k!nk trend with Emily's books now.... and I love it!!

Okay firstly, THAT PLOT TWIST? Did not expect that at all.
Secondly, how the heck do you make me so mad at fictional characters
Thirdly why is Matt such a cute cinnamon roll

Ngl I loved Aurora's relationship with Kaia more than than her and Matt. We love a bad bish

Well.. This book is definitely a wham, bam, thank you Aurora, and after reading this I truly now understand the “instalove” reference.

This book is a standalone and pretty fast paced and touches on some really heavy topics, so I definitely recommend reading the trigger warnings before diving in.

Emily did a great job with creating these characters and the chemistry between them.

I enjoyed this book, it’s a short read so you can enjoy it in one sitting.
I am looking forward to the rest of “Watch Her” standalones series.

Ok, so there's going to be some spoilers in my review. The only reason I'm not hiding it with the tag is for those who have issues with SA and Rape. There are some things I'm going to try and explain to kind of prepare those because even with the TW, I was taken aback with my own reaction.

Now, this book is amazing. It is so much more than just the scenes with SA, Rape, and so many other things. It was a book about a bad ass best friend, the sweetest guy on the planet, and a girl healing from an INCREDIBLE amount of trauma. I want that to be kept at the forefront of everyone's mind who reads this.

Ok, so I want to start out with the SA scenes. I have learned my triggers and can easily navigate them myself. The TWs are more than enough, and usually, during my bad times, I don't read books with these types of scenes because I just can't. February is nowhere near any of my bad months. So when I say I was completely blindsided by how these scenes affected me, I'm not exaggerating. I ended physically ill. Please be aware that if you have the same triggers I do, this book may hurt and be a little much. Not because the book is bad, but because it is unfortunately so accurate in so many ways. The scenes themselves. The disassociating. The fear. The guilt. The threats. All of them are scarily accurate.

I did finish it because the book itself was amazing, even the hard parts for me. The author did a WONDERFUL job in encompassing everything that goes on with SA survivors. Not once in the book did I read Aurora being called a victim except maybe with the two detectives. Let me say that it is an INCREDIBLE thing for the author to do. I don't know if she did it on purpose or what, but I thought it was amazing.

Aurora survived. I think that's what I love the most. Everyone who dealt with her talked to her. Kaia didn't sugar coat anything, and I love that. Everyone needs a friend who will burn the world down for you and fight as hard as Kaia did for Aurora. The doctors and the detectives also were so amazing with Aurora. The doctor explained ALL forms of the trauma responses, not just fight or flight. Again, something that is such a small detail but means so much.

Matt and his brothers were also just amazing!! How careful and wonderful they were with Aurora. They allowed her to set the pace of their interactions. Matt especially was amazing. He was careful but also pushed her when she needed it. Comforter her and was there for her and protected her. He's perfect!

There are some other plot points that I will not reveal because wow! It was crazy. I'm such a fan of this book, even with my visceral reactions. What I got from this book is, again, I'm not alone. She survived. I survived. We are both stronger in the end. I think that's what I really got out of it.

I loved Matt and Aurora's story, their beginning was unique and very dramatic, and I loved that Matt was not the typical man we read about so much lately, he was strong and determined without being all macho about it, so it was refreshing.

This is my first book for this author and she definitely captured my attention. I’n excited to check out her other works! I expected something dark from the MMC, Matt, in this book but despite being an intense pleasure dom in the bedroom, he was otherwise a cinnamon roll towards the FMC, Aurora.

It was difficult to navigate Aurora’s situation and honestly I was so angry for her the entire time. My girl couldn’t catch a break and had basically been abused by almost everyone in her life and betrayed by the system. It’s really heartbreaking because her situation was just too real - so many girls are left to suffer without anyone ever giving them a helping hand.

It was heartwarming to watch the community eventually get together to help Aurora because she really needed that support that was lacking from her life. It was a rough ride but she finally got her life going again.

I really enjoyed how she got justice and navigated healing after everything she’d been through!

Thank you for the free copy!

Absolutely amazing! First and foremost always read your trigger warnings and take seriously. While this book includes SA and Rape, the book had much more in it that gives the reader a sense of hope and happiness. The main character Aurora is a strong female that doesn't always see her strength and therefore she has her forever best friend there by her side helping her through her challenges without questions and without the full story. Matt is introduced to us and quickly becomes the sweetest guy you'll meet, and his brothers follow right with him in the story. Their kindness is heartwarming.

Aurora is not painted as a victim which is a nice change of pace from some stories that will deal with this heavy topic. Instead, she finds her strength and her voice within herself and within Matt. He brings out her power. Not once do any of the characters treat her a fragile, they help her navigate her own experiences and traumas at her own pace with her own voice to determine what she need.

Like many of Emily's books this deals with heavy hitting topics, and they are not covered vaguely and they are descriptive and makes the reader truly feel the emotions of the characters. I absolutely devoured this book.

Always remember to tip your servers, maybe even just the tip 🤔

I don’t know how I’ll ever recover from the rush Emily’s writing gives me. I am so glad I found her books. They all touch on so many topics that people just don’t talk about, or understand. Emily explains everything with detail as to why her characters do things or how they cope with certain situations in their lives. Everyone deals with trauma in a different way.

Watch her bl33d had so many unexpected moments. Aurora's story is truly inspiring and it's wonderful to see her receive the justice she deserved. It's amazing how she was able to not only escape a traumatic experience but also realize her true worth and resilience in the process. Survivors like Aurora show us the power of strength and perseverance in overcoming challenges and moving forward with courage.

It all started with a bottle of wine....

For a good portion of this book I was struggling to understand where the title came from, and then the action hit. I figured something bad was going to happen but yup was not prepared. Before the drama you have a sweet couple finding each other through an accident. Its a super cute, meet cute, that certainly leads to a dark tale, and a darker turn of events. Absolutely gripping tale, I loved every minute of it. Cannot wait to read more in this series and more from this author.

I really liked Aurora and Matt’s story! Aurora found an amazing support system to help her get justice for the pain and suffering that her supposed family caused. This was a fast read with a good twist that kept me interested right until the very end.

Although I prefer the really messed up kind of Dark reads I did enjoy this book. It’s got an excellent storyline and an acceptable amount of spicy ness to it. I’m gonna classify it as a slow burn as well but the build up was worth it and the characters were well developed. Glad I read it!

Watch her Bleed is the first novel of a 5 novel series that can be read as standalone, but Includes 5 brothers with their own stories!.

🩸Watch Her Bleed🩸
Release date 2/29

Great story, but dang it, I hate that it was kind of predictable! I've read a few of Emily's books, and it just kind of feels like the same plot lines/mental health reps that I've read in her other books-- which I've loved . I wanted something a little different from her other books, and it just fell short of that.
The story itself was good. If you haven't read her other books, this is a good series to start with.

Aurora went through some pretty traumatic events growing up with a brother who started abusing and r@p!ng her at an early age that continued until her adult life-- until one day she finally got the courage to open up, thanks to her best friend Kaia. Then she finds out the life as she knows it really wasn't what she thought it was. What seems like the end of it all may just be the beginning she needed.

I just wished her female characters, even through trauma, was stronger. It was frustrating for me how the female character was just so weak and self degrading. Mental health and trauma shouldn't be portrayed as being weak, and I feel the female characters have been weak and needed that knight in shining armor to pull herself out of it. That was frustrating to read for me.

I give this a 3.5 🌟🌟🌟✨️

Author Emily Klepp is a new Author for me and definitely is a creative storyteller that really had me hooked into her emotionally and physically charged dark romantic world of storytelling. It is definitely not a vanilla version romance story but one that will truly test readers psychological hold on life and familiar relationships and the hidden evils that do exist within our everyday lives.
So first off, if you read the synopsis and are intrigued by the plot definitely the next port of call is to check the trigger lists that accompany the book write up, as they are quite confronting.
I do love the 'instalove' trope but always mentally argue that it is so unbelievable thus think its going to be a set back for the characters, but slowly I'm coming to terms that it is simply a means to a feel good plot over a quicker time period.
Anyway, loved how the characters were created for this story and they were so well developed in which allowed me to make that necessary connection to want to read about them and dream of their HEA's. Loved the strong sense of connection that exists between the different players and their relationships to one another. The typical brotherly bonds, the girlfriend bonds that is more like family siblings and the strong connections that exist within an established family.
I thought it was an interesting plot that really captured my interest from the first chapter and found the incorporation of Aurora's blood sugar issues an interesting addition, in some ways it demonstrated the flaws we all have but often are ignored over perfection.
Defintely a good dose of romance, adoration, love, devotion, mystery, suspense, drama, action, family betrayal, possessiveness and absolute psychotic behaviour from Enzo really puts readers on an emotional roller-coaster throughout the story. Can't wait to see how the next instalment in the "Watch Her" series will take readers on.

This is an honest review for an ARC read:

4⭐️ 2.5🌶️

Some Tropes:
❗️He Falls First
🤍 Somnophilia
❗️Found Family
🤍 Who Hurt You

Well, to say this book was unexpected is an understatement. I went in blind, like I do with every book, and boy.. it was a roller coaster.

The Characters:

Aurora is a hardworking, beautiful, intelligent woman who fell victim to the least likely predator you could imagine.

Mattia and his family run a huge company that owns a lot of businesses. They’re powerful and known. He’s the boss. Handsome, unattached, and intelligent.

The Drama:

Mattia, Aurora’s new boss, is stunned by the FMC when he goes to his restaurant for dinner and gets wine spilled all over him. He knows something is up with Aurora and with the help of his brothers, they uncover what becomes the biggest secret about her.

Aurora hides the secrets of her abuse well, but like almost everything in life, she couldn’t keep it a secret forever. Mattia knows something is off and he and his brothers are determined to find out what.

Aurora quickly realizes she has many people in her corner ready to fight for her and support her. Something she didn’t realize she needed to be able to overcome all of her obstacles and trauma.

My Opinion:

I loved this book, but I was definitely wishing for more. The plot was amazing and the storyline definitely had me hooked, but I wanted so much more STORY. I wanted more time and growth between Aurora and Mattia. I wanted more character growth for Aurora versus time hops that show she’s in a better place. Maybe it’s because I was sad the book was over so quickly, but my attention was captured and I didn’t want it to end!

I cannot wait for Watch Her Bend. Dax’s book is about to have me pulling an all nighter to be able to read it in one sitting!

This is the first book of Emily's I have read and WOW, I was blown away. I love her writing style and how she can spin the words to really capture the essence of the world she is building in her story. The words are woven in such a way that it that it flows naturally like a smooth moving river.
I was captured and couldn't put this book down. I was so involved from the very beginning that I needed to know exactly what was going to happen and how it was going to happen. So, instead of sleeping, I decided to read and forgo a night of sleep (very few books have had this effect on me).
I am usually not a fan of insta love tropes, so I didn't have great expectations going into this book on the fact that it was an insta-love but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the connections made in this story. I love Kaia and hope she gets a story as well. Out of all the side characters, she is my favorite! I love her spunk, ferociousness, and her heart of gold.

I will be looking into more books written by Emily Klepp because of this book.

I was given this book as an ARC in return for an honest review.

Sorry, my review wasn't more detailed about the story itself, but if you're a reader and your reading reviews, then you already have the gist of the story I'm here to tell you. Read the TW, if your good with them, then this story is worth the read!

( ARC Review )
I need a heavy drink after this one. What in the world was that. I love DARK romance with every bone in my body, my soul calls for it. This satisfied.

It isn’t the dark kind where the MC’s go round un-aliving people for fun.. this is dark in its own way. Definitely trigger heavy so watch out for that!

I was a page in and giggling at Aurora. I just love her so much. So essentially Aurora is going through a lot in her life, things she shouldn’t have to deal with. You get into more of that as you read on. She meets Matt in an let’s just say, friendly kind of way. But boy does she meets him. He’s your possessive drawl worthy MC. I could just eat him!
The spicy scenes woooh just wait until you read the first one! Could of happily have just jumped through the page.

I’m not going to ruin it by going into details of the story or giving spoilers, but if you like a dark romance. That should be enough for you to want to read! 🤌🏻 I will say though, near the ending? Emily damn near caused me to p** myself. I was so anxious and was sooooo not ready for it!!

It’s definitely an emotional one so if your like me, when you read it you are going to need to get your tissues ready!

Watch Her Bleed by @edknovels
(Definitely check triggers list prior to reading!)

I was pleasantly surprised with this one! We meet Aurora as she is stuggling with her blood sugar levels while working as a server (relatable- I have the same struggle). Her manager refused to let her take a second to eat something so she nearly passed out pouring a $3,400 bottle of wine on to one of her guests. In order to save herself, she tried to clean the mess off of the man when she realizes that she’s fondling him. This one event starts a snowball of changes in her life. We find out she has an interview the next day with that same man to be his assistant. Aurora discloses the treatment she receives from her family and her attempts to escape the grasp of their assaults (serious, check your triggers). My only notes are that there are a few minor grammatical errors and confusing parts where I don’t understand details of the scene. I’m excited to learn more about everyone else (and what Kaia + brothers were doing!) in future books which are already in the works!
Follow the journey of Aurora and Mattia in their fight to escape abuse and heal on KU!

📖Watch Her Bleed by Emily Klepp📖

Book 5 ⭐️

Spice 5 ⭐️

Please be sure to read the TWs of this book. They're there and very real. Emily has made it abundantly clear how important mental health is. So please take heed to her warning about the TWs. It's so YOU the reader doesn't struggle. Your mental health matters.

This is the book that started it all. The “Watch Her” series. It will make you feel. It is a wonderfully written deep, dark, and touching book. It, just like the others, will grip you tightly and hold you there even after you've finished. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Through all the feelings it pulled from me. My heart ached, my blood pressure rose, and I wanted to go on a spree inside the book.

This is the story of Aurora, of her traumatic life, her past, present, and beautiful future. Although she had one hell of a rough life, she is a fighter even after all that's happened to her and things that come to light. Mattia is an amazing partner for her. He falls for her instantly and is full of love, passion and support for Aurora. They are the perfect couple.

*Must Read Trigger Warnings*

A few of my faves…..

“The moment I put my hands on you, you’re mine. I won’t lie to you and say that I won’t be possessive because I will be. Being mine means I will cut the hand, or any other offending body part, off anyone who thinks they have the right to touch you. I am intense at times, yes, but your happiness will always be my priority.”

“Pretty sure you are the best alarm clock out there. Alarm
c*ck, if you will.”

“Sometimes life is painful. Sometimes it’s more painful for others for no apparent reason. We can’t control the bad things that people do to us, but we can control how we react to them.”

This book was full of twists and turns, but it is soooo good! Mattia was made for Aurora. He was so good to her from the beginning. He is everything she needed, to heal from her trauma. Trauma brought on by the hands of her “family”. Aurora’s best friend Kaia, is amazing. She was truly there for her through everything.

In the end, everything Aurora went through, lead her to so many people that love her. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!

4/5 ⭐️
3/5 🌶️

This was my first book by Emily Klepp and I enjoyed it. Watch Her Bleed is a dark romance - read the TW there are quite a few. This book was a fast paced with an instant connection and plenty of drama.

Aurora is trying to recover from quite a bit of trauma and make her life better without the help of her family and their money. We do get to see Aurora grow and start to stand up for herself. I didn’t love how Aurora continued put herself in the same position with her family for so long but understood her desire for a different outcome. She found comfort and peace with Mat and it showed. Mat was a strong and dominant character but wanted to do everything he could for Aurora. Together they worked well.

I did not anticipate some of the twist and turns of this book. With how short it was and how much was packed in it, it felt well written and flowed smoothly enough I didn’t get confused about what was happening. Definitely recommend if you want something dark and quick - read TWs - and happy reading!

This is my first time reading Emily Klepp's work. I was drawn in from the blurb. The trigger warnings are definitely something to read as this may be triggering for some. If you can get past the triggers you are definitely in for a treat.

Aurora is focused on moving forward and ignoring anything that could cause her to back-step into her past. She escaped but it doesn't feel like she really escaped. She has a lot of trauma buried deep that she hasn't dared share with anyone. They wouldn't understand or they would judge her, wouldn't they?

Her best friend Kaia is always there for her. She looks out for and has become more family to her than her own flesh & blood. When Aurora has a meal at her parents, she isn't prepared for the series of events that unfolds. Kaia tells her, enough is enough and it's time to come clean and hold her family accountable.

Matt can't place his finger on what it is that is so different about Aurora but he knows he wants to know more about her. He can't help his intrigue with her but something is off. Is she hiding something or is her family? The more Matt gets involved, the more he just wants to protect Aurora and give her the best future imaginable.

Overall, this was a great story. I really enjoyed the way Klepp focused on her health concerns and her mental health. Klepp handles Aurora's past trauma in a delicate way. We feel for Aurora and find ourselces just wanting to hold and console her. Matt stays at bay and lets Aurora lead the way into their relationship. He lets her call the shots and she gives into her feelings with him while also handling her past trauma. This won't be my last time reading Klepp's work. I really enjoyed her story building and how it gripped me from page one. I can't wait to read the next story in the Watch Her Series!

This one’s dark so check your triggers. So this was my introduction into the world of Emily Klepp and I’m a convert! I was hooked the minute I opened this book and thoroughly devoured it in a matter of hours.

Aurora was a great FMC and the way her story was told was heartbreaking yet beautiful. Emily really captured the trials and tribulations of being an SA survivor and navigated the subject beautifully in my opinion. Matt was the perfect MMC for Aurora and I’m so glad they got their HEA. Now I just need to know what happens with Kaia, she was my absolute favourite!!

I cannot wait for Watch Her Bend to come out, I need to know what happens next.

Absolutely loved this book, it is a quick read. It is very dark, and the trigger warnings should be taken seriously! If you can handle them then definitely worth the read.

This Dark Romance is a dark, and salacious read. Due to the fact that this book is a dark romance please check all trigger warnings before reading.
The romance in this book is a fast burn, with an instant connection.
This book is extremely spicy, and descriptive. Please be aware the trigger warning scenes are somewhat descriptive as well.
This book moves quickly. The book follows the FMC, and MMC as they fall in love all while fighting her past, and current traumas making shocking discoveries along the way.
The characters are written nicely, each adding a intricate piece to the story.
The world building is done in contemporary times, and with real world situations that make reading this book a breeze.

Uttered me speechless

I don't even know how to start writing this review other than WOW. This book is an emotional rollercoaster!

Just when you think things fall into place, no, no they don't. Whilst realizing something is gonna happen when I seen there was still 50 pages left of the book, I didn't expect to be expressed in such a realistic way. I can honestly say I was there with Aurora and Mattia through the entire book, like a 3rd (or 6th haha) person in the room.

I feel the book has soo much more sexual relationship possibilities based on the ideas hence the 4/5 (cuz I can't rate 4.5 otherwise I would) but same time it's a book I'd love to read again in future.

I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to read a story that's dark and tabboo and DARK but same time doesn't feek overwhelmingly long.

shocking good

This book was really good. Once more the author wrote the characters perfectly. We follow aurora through a series of events. I will say her fake parents are shit parents. But the fake that she finally finds her real biological parents and brothers seriously brought tears to my eyes. Unfortunately how they all met and to hear what has been done to her broke my heart. Her mom about lost it hearing what her daughter had to do to survive. Matt is her new boss at her new job and when she is working her last shit has a server he is there to catch her when she passes out;out of no where. From then on he never leaves her side. And has he gets to know her his walls that he has put up start to fall as he starts to fall in love with her! Everyone in this book was written beautifully. I absolutely love and enjoy this authors work.

First I want to say to definitely check the triggers. While this book was amazing, it is not for the faint of heart. I originally picked up this book because of the “darker romance” aspect and the hashimotos representation of the FMC as I also have hashi. I literally could not put it down. It’s a super quick read and very much hurt/comfort but again check the trigger warning, because there is on screen SA.
I did love Matt and how he almost immediately fell for Aurora even when he denied it at first. Aurora is a soft FMC that has had an extremely traumatic life but with the help of her bestie and Matt grows stronger. That’s really what the story is, her working through a traumatic moment in life, some twists and deception, a decent amount of spice and eventually a whole lot of love.
