What a fun horror experience this was. I love when there are female leads that are shown in diverse and interesting ways. And Alex, our lead, grabbed me right away. Her despondent attitude after some life-altering news, her willingness to put herself in harm's way, and then her violent emotional shift. Like someone took the stages of grief and filled them with adrenaline. We watch her satisfy her bloodlust and newfound desires, all for the sake of a potential fresh start or, at minimum, going out on her own terms. Lots of layers to the story here and all of it was very unique, all coming together in a beautiful disaster that you can't look away from. This was my first outing with Kristina Gallo and I surely hope it to be far from my last.

My rating 4.5

The novella "A Dream About White Rabbit: A Horror Suspense Novella" by Kristina Gallo is a very well-written story with a mixture of thriller, supernatural, and horror. As always, the writer Kristina has very interesting ideas, this time she entered the world of the supernatural and I like how her stories are getting better and better.

The story begins with a girl, Alex, who discovers that she has terminal cancer. This discovery draws her to the dark side, which will swallow her like a whirlpool into a deep abyss. On the way, she will meet a strange man who will introduce her to the world of the rich behind the curtains. Along the way, she will try drugs for the rich and her path will be in the direction she least expected. Whether Alex will manage to get out of that embrace of the unknown is questionable.

If you like novellas with a mixture of thriller, supernatural, and horror, then this is the book for you.

Kristina Gallo has stepped outside of her comfort zone with her latest offering White Rabbit.

Alex, 30, has giloblastoma, a brain tumour and is given six or less months to live. She decides she wants to live out her last days to the fullest and encounters a number of different people along the way including a mysterious retired businessman named Clint whose wife died of cancer and son drowned at sea.
Alex is offered “adrenochrome” aka “white rabbit” an adrenaline drug that makes you forget all your problems and embrace your dark side! Will Alex take it?

Reading this book you literally feel like you’re following a white rabbit down a rabbit hole. There are so many twists and turns and layers. The book is well written, set in a the UK and has a different tone and style from the author’s previous books.

🐰"A Dream About White Rabbit" by Kristina Gallo

📖Dear readers, on this hot Thursday, I would like to acquaint you with one more captivating horror, suspense, and crime thriller by Kristina Gallo. I've read all the books by this writer. I would say without any doubt that each of her books possesses its peculiar style – dark, fast-paced, realistic, and creepy. "A Dream About White Rabbit" is her new mind-blowing novella.

🌚The Plot: We follow a young woman named Alex. She finds out that she is sick, quits her job, and starts living her life almost in a 'Breaking Bad' style. She reveals a new side of herself that gets caught up in a whirlwind of creepy and dangerous events. These rapid developments lead her to encounter a wealthy businessman. The mysterious man offers Alex a strange deal, which is to bring her to a monastery in Cornwall. Here, every one of Alex's decisions and steps leads her to something even darker and more dangerous.

🐰The Writing Style: What a wild ride it was! The novella is action-packed, tense, and dark. I had read about the events described in the novella before, which is why all the events portrayed in the book looked pretty realistic and made the book even scarier. The plot is well-thought, trending, and worth paying attention to. It's twisty and keeps you in suspense from cover to cover. It's a brilliant mix of wild mystery, subtle mystical vibes, and creepy, realistic backgrounds.

🌚The Characters: In addition to the novella itself, the characters are portrayed in a dark and creepy style. I would definitely have no desire to meet such people in real life. If you like books where the darkest demons of the human soul come alive, "A Dream About White Rabbit" is what you need. Even though the characters are ruthless, heartless, cruel, dark, and disgusting in their actions, some of them are not entirely hopeless. They subtly prove that good can prevail, no matter how much evil wants to consume the world. To sum it up, the author brilliantly portrayed the ugliness of the villains' rotten souls. Kristina Gallo also managed to maintain a balance and cast a thick but confident beam of sunshine into the pitch darkness.

🌛Would I read other books by this author? Yeap!

🌟My humble rating is: 5/5

🌚Well, dear readers, buckle up and be prepared for the wildest ride ever! I do hope you'll enjoy reading "A Dream About White Rabbit." This deeply dark horror novella would definitely make this hot Thursday even more hotter.

🐰"A Dream About White Rabbit" is available on Amazon.

🙏🏼Anyway, thank you for dropping by and reading this review.

📖Stay safe, take care, and happy reading!

Gripping racy thriller
Alex comes to know that she has a brain tumour and very little time. Instead of becoming despondent at the news, she turns to her dark side. Red is her first victim but that is just the beginning. Things move to Cornwall in the form of Clint who has another sad story but because of his past, he somehow ends up becoming different from the others in Cornwall.
In between this is Edith and her little baby Rebecca in Cornwall.
It is natural that Clint and Alex meet each other then things become even more unpredictable.
There is a fresh drug adrenochrome in the market and someone is hunting for some fresh blood from victims.
Underworld dealings and some unexpected choices from the protagonist made it a short racy thriller. Enjoyed it.

First of all I really enjoyed this story. I am not really a fan of horror but the level of gore and shock was toned down enough to make it palatable for me. I loved the pace of it, things moved along quickly with the use of short sentences keeping it punchy. I think Kristina told the story really well, and could maybe have given the reader a little more in terms of the supporting characters but all in all I would definitely recommend this novella.

An Adrenalin Rush

Author Kristina Gallo’s horror suspense novella plunges the depth of darkness, ensnaring the reader within its folds. Beware of pillars of the community!

When introverted and antisocial Alex Wilson discovers she has an inoperable brain tumor, she’s quick to embrace her dark side in using a razor to slit the throat of a derelict who accosts her on the seamy side of town. On the run from London to Cornwall, she meets a rich businessman who can provide her a second chance at life through, “adrenochrome” aka “white rabbit,” an adrenaline drug which simulates youth and well-being.

The adrenaline rush is on as the underground nefarious procure fresh sources of blood for the coveted drug, and Alex is forced to play the game—her way, while law enforcement is on her trail. For meting out justice as she sees fit, this villainess earned my respect along the way.

I highly recommend this suspenseful page-turner with unforeseen plot twists and turns.

A page turning tale with dark tones and a gritty edge…

Kristina Gallo delivers a novella length page turning tale with dark tones and a gritty edge. Early on we are introduced to main character ‘Alex’ who is kind of a lost soul where she has recently received a terminal diagnosis. Her situation gives scope to embrace the perhaps more sinister side of life as she ultimately has nothing to lose but even then she meets some interesting types on her path.

Leaving her previous life behind ‘Alex’ embarks on a journey that reflects Kristina Gallo’s strengths as an author who takes readers to different places in this story. There were moments of the unexpected alongside a unique direction this book takes – a ride I would recommend.

‘She couldn’t leave this world like a loser who gave up. The world must celebrate her for doing something marvellous…’

4.5/5 Rounded Up for Goodreads

This is the first book I've read by the awesome Croatian author Kristina Gallo. She did a great job keeping me engaged with this novella! Almost like a modern spin on a vampire thriller, A Dream About White Rabbit is a book that I could easily see adapted to film. The characters are memorable/relatable, and the ending is truly epic. Pick this one up and enjoy the ride!

Another interesting and exciting read from this author, as often happens one can't help but like the principle character Alex despite her flaws.
The reference to Adrenochrome "White Rabbit" added another interesting dimension as it has been mentioned by authors such as Anthony Burgess and Huxley, also "White Rabbit" was frequently referenced in the drug culture and music of the 60's and 70's.
My only complaint was that I really didn't like the ending despite the "little" twist, but that's just my opinion and I'm sure that others may disagree.
Overall another good read so take the time and splash out
