A hilarious read as always—and I just adore the art style so much I never get tired of staring at it for extra long while.
I was deprived of Miku and Tacchan’s antics for a year and a month! That long? What was I too busy for that I forgot to browse to get some laugh and relieve some stress? Ah, life. Anyway, I miss the bunch so much!! Especially Masa. Kousuke sensei never fails to make me laugh!

This series is so much fun and volume 11 is no different. My favorite scenes in this are Masa's new apartment, the old camera, Gin's bath time, the Yakmil drink, and the fancy steak. I can't wait to read the next volume. I hope Netflix makes more of the anime program in the future.

Tatsu and the crew are back doing their same old schtick and that is both a blessing and a curse. But, as we all suspected, it’s the idols who will save us.
Boy, this doesn’t start off great. It actually backslides into one of the series’ worst habits from its earlier volumes - a lot of the stories just die off without an actual punchline to put a button on it and it’s super awkward.
With no real oomph at the end, it makes a lot of these come across as tired rehashes of the things we’ve seen before. There are only so many times you can make yakuza gags before it gets a little old - the bonus manga about pot (as in, a pot of tea) is a joke arriving 30 years too late and just dies on arrival.
Fortunately, things get better. For starters, the illustrations of some of these concepts are insane. If you ever wanted to see a group of thugs with cow heads, your very specific dream is now made disturbingly real. One thing most assuredly beyond reproach in this series is its art.
And the stories get better. Despite having a very limp punchline, the one about the after hours “scam” bar that turns out to be very caring and nurturing to a poor salaryman (who ends up straddling a cow, in case you had another very specific dream) is really good.
Another one involving yak milk that is just a very obvious riff on drug addiction becomes increasingly funny as it escalates. The ending is predictable, but some of the imagery in this one, including a sinister kid, is stellar.
Then there’s Kotorin, an idol from this manga’s AKB48 knockoff. Which is totally irrelevant, as she’s on her own doing TV work promoting the area and that brings her into contact with Tatsu and his contemporaries.
Kotorin’s barely contained foul mouth and general contempt for the restaurant she winds up in are basically using the exact premise of the series, but coming at it from the complete opposite direction. As a consequence, it feels very fresh.
This story also brings back the rapping yakuza guy plus the otaku nerd who have been in previous chapters to great effect. Plus a bear with a bloody head. If any character deserves to come back sooner rather than later, it’s Kotorin, who adds a lot to this one.
I won’t even spoil the omake she’s in with Tatsu’s cat, but it’s a whole other thing on its own.
So, much like most volumes, it’s a mix of the even and the uneven. I do like that Miku shows up more frequently with Tatsu; it often felt like she was a real afterthought, but having them together more often adds a bit more to a given chapter. Tatsu does best with somebody to bounce off and Miku has her own unique style.
3.5 stars - Kotorin is so much fun that I want to round this up, but it’s no lie to say that the first chunk of this is fitfully amusing at best, so we’ll just leave it on the low side this time.

This volume is especially funny. I was cracking up! Tatsu and Miku craving the marbled steak to the point of mania, Tatsu trying to give Gin a bath, Tatsu seriously needed his Yakmil fix, omg, had me weak. The Way of the Househusband is my "cozy" manga. It never fails to make me want to cook too LOL

This is a fun series, even if the humor does remain a bit one-note. After all, the series is billed as former yakuza pursues domestic life with all the intensity of his previous career, and it certainly delivers on that. By this 11th volume, I can't really expect it to branch off to much from the formula of brief vignettes, though maybe a bit more ongoing storylines would be nice.
This volume seemed to go by quicker than most. Perhaps the dialogue might seem sparser in a way, though it is still peppered in references to "product" and underworld lingo whenever possible. One thing that caught my eye is Tatsu's method for classying up a dish of instant ramen that I kinda wanna check out for myself.

Como siempre un manga entretenido, con historias cortas de humor cotidiano. Esta vez las historias se me han quedado un poco flojas, el humor me ha parecido un poco repetitivo y no ha habido mucha originalidad en este tomo. Aún así, es una serie maravillosa.

There is no depth here and the joke/conceit is no longer new. You either are here for a light, funny time or you aren't. This wasn't the best of these I've read, but I used it to break up other things I was reading and enjoyed the stories that were only a few pages long.

Tatsu and Miku head to a theme park for a little fun, but everywhere they go, someone is muscling in on them – none other than Tora, who is there with his sister, Koharu. Everywhere they go, the two couples seem to keep running into each other, with the men trying to outdo each other. Can Miku and Koharu keep these two in check?
Masa is looking for new digs because his landlady is threatening to kick him out if he’s late with the rent again! Tatsu goes with him to do some recon, but the realtors seem kind of shady. The trouble is, Masa doesn’t have a lot of money. Can he make do with what he can afford, with the help of Tatsu? And can he overlook some of the problems?
The small café where Tatsu works during the day becomes a bar at night. A new client who enters the premises is dismayed by the strong Yakuza presence. But he quickly learns that appearances can be deceiving as he pours his heart out to them.
When Miku asks Masa if he’s made any progress at cooking, he offers to cook them something from whatever Tatsu has on hand. When Miku shows off her skills with ramen, Masa knows he can do better, given the chance. Will he manage to impress his boss, or will Tatsu have to school him once again?
Miku’s friend gives her an old camera, and Tatsu suddenly becomes camera-shy, telling her not to point it at him. To please Miku, they head off for a day of photography, and all is well, until something unexpected starts to show up in the photos.
Tatsu doesn’t like the way his clothes smell when dried inside because of the rain so he orders a secret weapon – a professional grade laundry dehumidifier! Tatsu declares war on odors, and that includes Gin!
Tatsu learns about a new and improved product that has five times the lactic acid bacteria, is good for stress relief, and improves sleep quality. But when he tries to purchase some, he’s told the product is sold out! Of course, he can pay a high price for it on the black market. Tatsu’s mission is to find a source of Yakmil Y – cause he’s gotta have it!
Tatsu and Miku receive thank you gifts in the mail from the hometown tax donation program – marbled matsukata steaks! Miku wants the cooking to commence, but Tatsu tells her that’s not the way to do it. They have to let the steaks rest until dinner the next day. All day, they manage to get through each of their days by remembering the dinner that is to come!
A young reporter visits the Katagi Shopping District, but she is rather brash and impolite in some of her language. When she enters the café where Tatsu works, she immediately accuses everyone of being Yakuza! Time she learned who she is really dealing with!
In Bonus Story 1, Tatsu prepares to take his tea like a gentleman, and in Bonus Story 2, the young reporter spends some time with Gin. In the third Bonus story, a boss rallies his employees to do their best at Katagy Land!
I never get tired of reading about Tatsu and his adventures, to be honest, so I hope he keeps writing them for a long time to come. I especially like stories with Tatsu and Miku, or Tatsu and Masa, or the three of them together. I loved the first story, with Tatsu and Tora posturing at the theme park, Katkagy Land, which also features in one of the bonus stories. I’m afraid one of the stories didn’t exactly resonate with me, the one with the Yakmil Y, but I think it was because Tatsu was portrayed as some kind of addict I that one, but that doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy that one too. That didn’t deter me from enjoying the entire book, already pre-ordered the next one!

A few episodes at Café Jingi Tei, a visit to a theme park, and some good old fashioned multi-level marketing. Nobody ever said Tatsu was the type to rest and be grateful for having figured things out, but after watching the man's competitive edge nearly blindside himself (again), one really worries about the guy's blood pressure.
THE WAY OF THE HOUSEHUSBAND v11 incorporates two episodes at the local café, where a handful of Tatsu's yakuza buddies work. Amusingly, the café's customers run the gamut, from a standard corporate drone, a guy looking to drown his sorrows, to a local TV youth personality, a woman seeking the hottest and trendiest spot to sensationalize. One should probably mention that the salaryman's life is horrible and the solace he seeks is wrongfully (rightfully?) interpreted as a plea for help, and one should probably mention that the pseudo-celebrity girl's ability to adapt is downright frightening, but alas, what's one to expect at a café run by gangsters?
Furthermore, what would another volume of this manga be without Tatsu and Miku getting launched into adulthood against their will? One adorable chapter focuses on Tatsu and Torajiro, the crepes guy, bickering and fighting as they traipse about a local theme park. The guys fight over candy, costumed characters, and more, not realizing that "they're having the time of the lives," as Miku and Koharu, Toraji's sister, observe.
A later episode tracks Tatsu and Miku stumbling into a boxful of high-quality beef. That is, marbled Matsukata steaks, which is likely a play on words from the real-life Matsusaka (wagyu) brand as well as a literary pun (matsu meaning "to wait" or "to anticipate," and kata meaning any number of things, including "plentiful," "surplus," or "excess"). In short, Tatsu and Miku spend all day screwing up at the market, at work, and elsewhere, because their minds are on that marbled beef. They can't wait to get home and devour that succulent meat. Their impatience results in accidents, awkwardness, and more, and yet, by the time the two idiots finally sit down for their fancy and expensive meal, they quickly learn their adult metabolism is garbage and they can only eat three bites before tipping over. Such is life.

I don't think Tatsu's adventures will ever end! Seriously, he keeps finding new ways to get up in other people's business. On the bright side, I got to read The Way of the Househusband Vol. 11, so I can hardly complain.
As always, The Way of the Househusband Vol. 11 is split into multiple vignettes or arcs. This is always refreshing. It's also nice when you don't enjoy a particular story – because you know something new is just around the corner.
That last comment is relevant because I just couldn't get into the first story of this volume. Thankfully, I enjoyed the rest. I love how this series finds ways to make the smallest moments so wholesome and funny. It's one of the many reasons I enjoy this series so much.

It's like, I *want* to tag this slice of life, but Tatsu is... a bit INTENSE to be able to EVER call it that? Haha...
It's sort of strange reading essentially 12 short comics that only sort of connect to each other. They're like the flash fiction of manga, with just barely enough time to set the scene before hitting with a one-two punch punchline! The punchlines in this one seem... weaker than usual, though, particularly the ones about —those stories feel like they just END vs. having a kicker. I don't know.
I do like that there's more of Gin than usual, though! :D Even if !?
Recommended for fans of the series, or newcomers! Curiously, it's not that difficult to pick up what's happening, since the backstory and characters' quirks really aren't THAT important to the story, as long as you get that it's primarily a joke about gangsters being curiously wholesome.

And so the life of a househusband continues with Volume 11. Tatsu finds a little competition in the fairgrounds, helping Masa find a good deal with his new place, and becoming addicted to a new brand of milk. The fun & games continue, for the duties of a househusband is always never done.
This volume seems to have a heavier focus on the secondary characters more here. Tatsu is still present in them, though less of the focus. We see more insights into his companions as they go about their business with him by their side. It's still pretty funny, and Tatsu has at least 3 chapters heavily focused on him, so he's not completely out of the picture. There's also a heavier presence of calmness in this volume, as a lot more of the chapters are more slower paced. Not too bad, perhaps the author is trying to change things up a little bit.

More of a 3.5 star rating;
While I’m starting to get a bit tired of the episodic-like chapters, this is still a very amusing manga to read.

Such a fun read, first there was a day at a theme park with the brother and sister that make crepes, Masa looks for a new place, the little cafe where Tatsu works part time serves an overworked man a delightful meal. I really liked Tatsu jonsing for the concentrated yogurt drink and the rich steak that Tatsu and his wife look forward to all day. Also liked Masa attempting to make instant ramen better and Tatsu teaching him how it’s done. I thought the young woman doing the neighborhood news piece was great, hadn’t expected to see the rapping man again. I had also forgotten about the stray cat, glad to see him in a cute bonus story.

This continues to be a fantastic series. It’s one of the few series I’m reading that has me laughing at least once a chapter. Tatsu is the definition of being extra. I love that Miku is beginning to join him in his extra-ness more and more as the series progresses. All of the characters are funny in their own ways, but the ex-Yakuza just take things to another level.
In this volume, we get to see Tatsu and Miku (and others) at an amusement park, join Masa as he faces the realities of the housing market, and explore the neighborhood with a new camera. There’s more, but these were the standouts to me. The paranormal elements were a bit of a surprise, but also very funny.

I binged this series during a quieter day, and I forgot how delightful the concept is of the series. Now that I'm all caught up, this episodic slice of life with a twist was a delight to sit and enjoy. Just when I'm worried that the premise will get stale, Kousuke Oono brings in new settings, brings in new reoccurring side characters, or revisits older ones that we haven't seen in a while to keep the story fresh! My favorite chapter of this volume is when they go to the amusement park--and then the brief follow up on it in the extras at the end!

Another great entry in this series. I like that they are starting to actually have people acknowledge he was in the Yakuza and be a little freaked out… but that he’s still just a very committed Househusband.
I like the expanding the cast of characters. Nice to see his former associates - who’ve also moved on to do other things - being just as intense, but also trying to be just as wholesome. 😂

Always the entertaining series that it is, this one has the underpinnings of the deviousness of the Immortal Dragon's previous life as he helps a friend into a new place, however the place is super shady (like don't look under the rug where the blood stain is and the bullet holes in the window can be patched up by adding some cute stickers as our friend Tatsu is willing to help).
Pure fun with every book in the series. 12 is on its way to me too!

This series just gets more and more funny! Masa apartment hunting, everyone behind the bar and then serving the customer milk and a giant plate of food! Everyone seems to be both yakuza and on the up and up. And Mr Woofie at the amusement park! Mr Woofie was not having a bar of their shenanigans. Make sure you read the bonuses at the end for things from Mr Woofie's perspective! This does not get boring at all!

This manga is always a wholesome slice of life that I enjoy reading when I need a break.
Tatsu's hype energy for doing anything household related really does encourage me to do my own housework sometimes. Miku is adorable when she joins up with her husband. Their excitement over fancy steak was totally my partner and I when we get something pricey to eat. All of the yakuza characters are great to see in an every day setting. I absolutely love this series.

A solid volume! I was very amused by the chapter about Masa moving into a clearly dodgy apartment because he can only afford to pay absurdly low rent, and I found relatable the one about Tatsu and Miku looking forward all day to eating their high-grade steaks. A couple chapters landed flat for me, but ah well.
Also, I just knew that Tatsu would be the type to collect Gin's fur with plans of making a cushion. The teatime bonus manga is cool too!
