Listened to this on Spotify - the poor man's equivalent of Audible for audio books. The narration, however, was fine. Given that some of the books on Spotify have only an automated narration, such as Joyce's Ulysses (God, can you imagine). Unfortunately, though, while the narration was decent, I can't say the same for the book itself. Granted, I didn't pay much attention to it. I mostly played it on my home computer during house work or gaming. I am sure, though, that I would have paid more attention had the story demanded it of me. In all honesty then, I can't give this book any more than two stars. For the sake of fairness though, I will not give it two either.

The Bells of San Juan is a less than run-of-the-mill western about a sherif and some outlaws and everything else you might expect from such a work. It's obscurity (I could not even find a plot outline on Google) speaks for itself.

I give up. I can't follow this book. I thought it was about a young lady doctor and I focused on her but I guess the male characters were important and I have them all confused.

Listened to the audiobook on Spotify. The narrator was alright, but the book in itself was convoluted. Not sure where anything was going.

A good old fashioned shoot 'em up Western! Lots of intrigue, romance, the (unheard of) lady doctor, rough bad guys, tough good guys, surgery on the mountainside, a kidnapping, interesting medical ideas about kleptomaniacs, secrets caverns, and plots-a-plenty. I listened to this novel as a free audio download from LibriVox.org. Great narrator.
