Even as Vampire King Daemon extends his reach and restores his incredible power in the Vampire World, his enemies continue to move against him.
Meanwhile, Julian and Christian are learning more about their powers and just what this Second Life as powerful Vampires means.
This is a long serial that is divided into book-length segments. Every single one ends in a cliffhanger. We anticipate there being 9 volumes. This series will not be in KU, because it is on the Raythe Reign serial website. There is also a free podcast on Youtube with a full voice cast!
Whoa 🤯 this ended on a huge cliffhanger! I’m glad I can go immediately into the next book.
Daemon learns of Kaly’s plans and they are diabolical.
Christian teams up with Caemorn to try and get Julian’s parents souls back. It’s not going to be easy. Christian has to fight creatures in the Ever Dark. Werewolf ghosts?!?? Eeeeek!
This book was honestly so intense. We are really starting to ramp up the seriousness to the real intense parts of this series and it shows.
First of all, WHAT WAS WITH THAT CLIFFHANGER?! I desperately need more of the story just based solely on the cliffhanger at the end of this book. I need to know what Julian and Daemon do next now that they are trapped with the cameras rolling. I honestly can’t think of a way for them to get out of there without ending in just a little bit of trouble. It makes me nervous for them.
But I also liked that we really got some serious build up to the next and final two books in the series. I loved getting to see Christian finally take some time to learn more about his powers as Speaker to the dead and I can’t wait to see in the next book how they really develop those to find Julian’s parents. I’m a little nervous personally about trusting Caemorn – I don’t think Christian should be trusting him at all. The spicy level was also a level 5.
Overall, I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 star rating and I really can’t wait to get to the next one and find out what happens next.
4.5 stars. Audiobook. Vampires and humans and love romances and bromances and friendships. Series of nine books with wonderful world building and a large cast of characters. Exceptionally well done character introductions, spaced out and different enough to keep them all straight, narration is with multiple actors, so that helped too. Low angst, low drama, a lot goes right for these characters and they actively try to fix hurts and heal emotional wounds for themselves and each other. Not OTT super sweet, but lots of support and caring. Felt like a mini series or soap opera since there were multiple romances and many different storylines with multiple POV. Really enjoyed the story, kept moving, stayed interesting. Totally binge-able, no tedious recapping. Recommend reading them all together or very close together due to the large cast and many plots, you need to remember who everyone is for the full impact at the end. Must read all installments for the HEA as many end on cliffhangers.
Sounded like there was a spinoff, Vampire Academy, that I would be interested in just to see what the characters are up to.
HEA, series, vampires, humans, m/m, urban fantasy vibes.
4.5⭐️ And the saga continues! This series is so good! It has everything: humor, magic, action, a fantasy world, spice (could be spicier imo) and love.
I just love Balthazar! He’s my favorite character! I’ve said this in my previous review of the other books, listen to the audiobooks! It has a fantastic cast. 12 voice actors, duet style! The best audio cast!
🎧 Balthazar and war kitty Mephy. Loved it! Caemorn is proving to be interesting, even if don’t trust him. Daemon is taking steps to rule. Julian and Christian are coming into their own powers. I’m waiting for the other immortals to truly show themselves though. I feel like there’s more to that could be. The ending of this book is such a cliffhanger, I immediately need the next one!
After book 6 was a bit darker, it was fun to see basically a whole chapter devoted to the main characters playing with kittens :) And the cliffhanger was truly a jaw dropper I didn't see coming.
