This is the fifth book in the series and it's a really gripping story. Previous books have shown us a tenuous relationship between this couple, but now, lost and alone, they don't remember who they are, and they need to rely on each other for survival. So we see their relationship move past the feelings and ideas that were holding them back, and see what joy they could have together. Once rescued, to preserve their reputations, they are forced into a marriage of convenience and Hollis puts walls up between them.
But trouble is never far away for the wagon train, and when Abigail falls dangerously ill Hollis is forced to recognize that he loves her, needs her, and wants a real relationship. I recommend this book, and the whole series, for its character development, interesting and suspenseful storylines and the ideal of redemption that runs throughout the books.
This book can be read as a standalone, and might be very interesting as a place to start the series. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.
