Goddess Girls

Time Travelers: Super Special #2

Rate this book
Athena and her friends have a time traveling mishap in this thirtieth and final Goddess Girls adventure!

Athena can’t believe it’s almost her little sister Hebe’s birthday…or that it’s been a year since Athena found herself at Mount Olympus Academy. It turns out Athena and her BFFs, the Goddess Girls, remember very different versions of Athena’s first day at school. To see what really happened, they use a spell to travel back in time!

The girls go back a year earlier but to ancient Rome instead of Greece—where they meet the Roman equivalents of themselves! With time running out for them to get back to Greece—and for Hebe’s celebration!—can the Goddess Girls work with their new friends to find their way home?

a fun, cheery junior novel about the adventures of the four Greek goddesses Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite and Persephone when they accidentally travel 1111 years into the future, meet their Roman counterparts or doubles, and participate in the topsy-turvy festivities of Saturnalia

Fun extra long adventure with the original goddess girls. This time, they’re off to the future, and what a fascinating concept! The characters are engaging as always. There’s a lot going on in this plot, and some situations feel like they were either contrived or resolved too quickly. Compared to other books in the series, it feels more juvenile than some of the others, but it is a children’s book, so that’s fine. Not every book has to address deep questions. The book’s key moments are solid. While not my favorite in the series, it is still well worth reading, especially for anyone who loves mythology and/or the series!

A sweet ending to the goddess girls adventures. I was surprised to find out this was the last book in the series and will miss these stories. This special was a fun twist from the others and a nice way to wrap everything up, returning with a focus on our main 4 girls. I went in expecting to revisit the first book, but reading about Saturnalia and the girls' Roman counterparts was an interesting take on the greco-roman myths.

Loved this series when I was younger and I had no idea the last book got released. Super cute read, and I learned a lot of intriguing Greek and Roman history.
