Chloe Taylor learned to sew when she was a little girl. She loved watching her Grandmother Louise turn a scrap of blue fabric into a simple-but-fabulous dress, nightgown, or even a bathing suit in an instant. It was magical! Now that she’s grown up, she still loves fashion: It’s like art that you can wear. Chloe has written more than thirty books for children and lives, writes, and window shops in New York City.
Lovely story about friendship and helping each other in times of need. Great that it included sewing a wedding dress! Good for young readers who are more advanced also.
Over the years, I've read the other two books of this series which are available at the library, and for a long time, I thought I was well beyond all these books because I've been reading more 'sophisticated' books, but I guess not. I practically flew through the book, and it was nice to read something - well, un-traumatizing.
Fabulous book- it is very motivational for kids and super entertaining. Even though it is meant for children, I (mom of pretween) found it very engaging and aspirational. School, friendships, enterprising abilities, helping one another, being kind- there are so many things that were so interesting and educational. Great read. Definitely planning on reading all the other Sew Zoey books and possibly having it as a mom-daughter splurge.
Little me (eight or so) liked these books very much. They’re very girly, with lots of fashion and friendship drama, and held my interest well. This one was particularly memorable. They’re your typical tween girl stories, though—with crushes, mean girls, and all that with little depth—so be warned if you don’t like that. Nowadays, these wouldn’t appeal to me at all, but they do their job of entertaining girls in the age range.
