Forensic psychologist and FBI agent Alexis Forrest's search for the serial killer responsible for her sister's murder has hit a wall. All the evidence she has found has led her to the identities of numerous victims, yet the killer is still unknown.
But he knows who she is, and he is watching her from the shadows. He is hiding in plain sight near Broken Hill, the snowy New England town that Alexis used to call home.
Meanwhile, a young suburban mother goes missing while out on a morning run. When Alexis starts to dig deeper, she finds out that the woman's perfect marriage and family are not what they seem. Secrets and resentments are swirling around the couple. Did someone take her or was it the husband after all?
While Alexis is busy with her new case, the serial killer continues to watch. He is close. Close enough to strike.
Can Alexis find the woman before she's killed? Can she figure out who is stalking her before he makes his move?

REVIEW: FOREST OF SECRETS is the third instalment in Kate Gable’s contemporary, adult ALEXIS FORREST FBI MYSTERY THRILLER series focusing on thirty year old, forensic psychologist and rookie FBI agent Alexis Forrest.
SOME BACKGROUND: Twenty years earlier, Alexis’ older sister Maddie was abducted and murdered, destroying the Forest family in the process. With her return to Broken Hill to investigate a series of similar abductions, Alexis will reconnect with family, and the man who once held her heart.
Told from several first person perspectives including Alexis and the killer FOREST OF SECRETS focuses on our story line heroine as she continues to search for a serial killer. FBI Forensic psychologist Alexis Forrest is hoping to find her sister’s killer but twenty years has passed, and a killer is luring Alexis with all the right clues and history from the past . The discovery of a number of victims pushes Alexis beyond her abilities alone, and the threats are once again becoming personal and dark.
Ripped from actual and real headlines, the search for a missing woman, a young mother of two preschool toddlers begins to take an ominous turn when any and all potential witnesses weave a tale of secrets and lies, lies that turn the focus on the victim, herself. A distraught husband, infidelity, and a need for fame and attention, reveals a woman whose fragile ego and scream for help is nothing less than unbelievable and mad.
Once again, Kate Gable pulls the reader into a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and madness, power, control and obsession. FOREST OF SECRETS is a suspense filled, fast paced, character driven story that is intriguing, dramatic and gripping; the characters are desperate and determined; the romance between Alexis and her high school sweetheart Mitch is struggling is the face of Alexis’ preoccupation with past, and her need to, most often, go it …alone.
This is book three in The Alexis Forrest FBI Mystery Thriller series and omg it is definitely a must read. Alexis Forrest is a FBI Forensic psychologist who has been on the hunt to find her sister's murderer for years. And every time she thinks she finds a clue or is getting close, she hits a dead end. But the killer is luring her each time with the right information/clues, playing her every time as he knows who she is and is biding his time to take her out. She discovers a number of victims and the threats she receives are personal. Can she capture this animal? Can she stop the murders? Can she find her sister's kidnapper and murderer? This book keeps you on the edge of your seat told in a POV manner. But there is a cliff hanger that makes you want the fourth book asap! This is a fantastic series and not only do I recommend this book but I highly recommend the series. Reading the first two books will give you the background. I received this book as an ARC but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
The story continues as Alexis is between cases. She is secure with her relationship and continues to search for Maddie’s killer. I could not believe what the woman did in her new case. The woman is certainly suffering from some mental health issues. When the woman gives this crazy story as to what had happened, Alexis does not believe her so she begins to dig deeper. She finds out many different secrets, revealing this couple has many an issue they need to work through. Meanwhile, Maddie’s killer leaves her a threatening note and Alexis is drawn back into the investigation she has to make some compromises with her boyfriend because he does not like how she pushes him away. When the killer leaves another message the story ends and the reader is left with a cliffhanger that leaves you speechless.
Alexis Forrest, FBI, is still in her hometown of Broken Hill. She is still trying to track down the serial killer that murdered her sister. She is at a dead end in that regard, but has now become aware that the serial killer is tracking her!
Meanwhile, a young mother, the wife of a doctor, has gone missing while on a morning run. What happened to her? Was her husband involved? Is she dead or alive? Will she be found alive and in time? This is an edge-of-your-seat read with many twists and turns. Of course, romance is also involved since Alexis is still involved with Mitch. While this can be read as a stand alone, it is best read as part of the series, Alexis Forrest, FBI Mystery T
When you think these books can't get any better you get this one, the best yet! This is a great series to read if you like mystery thrillers.

This is a brilliant book in this series, with lots of twists and turns, truth and lies, you think you have it all figured out and then something else happens, I can't wait for the next book.
This is Book 3 in a series but can be read as a stand alone. However once you are drawn into it you will probably want to read the next book too. Alexis Forrest FBI agent is still in her hometown Broken Hill and a new case of a missing wife and mother is given to her. Whilst pursuing this she continues in her quest to confirm if the wrong man was convicted of her the murder of her sister some years previously. Alexis is enjoying time with her rekindled romance with Mitch when a new case suddenly takes up her time. A mother of young children has gone missing after going out for a run. Alexis is soon busy trying to get to the bottom of the disappearance by delving into her husband’s life. When a note is also left for Alexis which might be from her sister’s killer she’s soon so busy poor Mitch doesn’t get a look in. Will Alexis be able to resolve her case, get onto who left the note and also save her budding romance. There’s so much going on in this book and it leaves you waiting for the next book
There's some real doozy twists and turns in Alexis latest case and I was totally blindsided by the out come. Meanwhile the killer is biding his time waiting for his chance to strike and the anticipation is making me antsy, but the romance is heating up for Mitch and Alexis and that makes me happy. I couldn't wait to dive into this continuation and now that I'm all pumped up there's a cliffhanger darn it however it will make the next book worth waiting for.
FBI Special Agent Alexi Forrest is still hunting for the serial killer of her sister. In the meantime she gets a case of a missing young mother Alyssa Lawrence who had been out running and suddenly disappeared. Her husband calls for help. Alexis goes around gathering information about Alyssa. There is lots of danger and suspense with a nail-biting finish . I received this ARC copy and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other.
This series just keeps getting better. I love Alexis. She gets so deep into her cases, and dealing with the twists, turns, and questions. There's the perfect amount of danger lurking and swirling that keep the pages turning. I really like how there's a new mystery mixed into each book while working to solve the larger case. I've been on the edge of my seat and can't wait for more!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
These books are addictive. On to Book 4. Alexis Forest, an FBI agent, back in her hometown and reconnected to her high school boy friend, is a good detective and heroine. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a series like this since my Nancy Drew days. We now have a name for the man who murdered her sister and many other young women and we know he’s been stalking Alexis all these years; just have to catch him !
I just finished reading Forest of Secrets book 3 in the Alexis Forrest series and I enjoyed every word. Kate Gable has done it again with an exciting read. It is amazing how many bad things can happen in a rural community....people behaving badly and illegally seem to abound. And than there is Mitch...Mr. Perfect. Hmmm.
On to as fast as I can....good thing I don't seem to be watching tv.
