4.5 stars!

I simply loved "What It Means To Be Found" by Andrea Andersen. I loved watching the evolution of Eloise and Logan's relationship from enemies to friends to lovers. Andersen takes her time meticulously crafting these characters into realistic people full of flaws and mess, but also those who are capable of love, light, humor, and growth. This is an instance of miscommunication done right. The ASL representation is some of the best I have seen in a book. It doesn't feel shoehorned in or unnecessary. It is purposeful and gentle. Logan... going to have a hard time replacing him as my new book boyfriend, as the youths say. The period scene? The scene where Logan takes that thing from Eloise's room (trying not to spoil because OMG)? The spice? The tenderness? The care? The EFFORT?!?! Expert levels of pining and craftsmanship here. Gosh I loved every second of this book. You will certainly laugh and cry your way through it... I know I did! Thanks to Andrea Andersen for the complimentary ARC of this book! All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

I was sent an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!

I am an inconsolable train wreck after this book and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

I knew before this book even came out that Logan was going to speak, I could feel it. The first time he spoke I sobbed like a baby. I absolutely loved this book. The spice was perfection. Logan St. James is a God among men. Eloise is one of my favorite characters ever. Her personal growth in this book is amazing I loved seeing her grow.

I loved the communication barrier and how well they worked together to communicate.

When Logan brought her a bag of goodies for her period I sobbed again. He is just perfect. I loved getting to hear more of his story.

My ONLY complaint is that we didn’t “hear” him propose. I would have loved to have that scene before the epilogue.

Let’s talk about the epilogue. I cried so hard I was shaking and couldn’t catch my breath. Susan dying had to happen, she was old but I wasn’t ready. I loved the letters, they were so perfectly Susan. Josh and Courtney naming their daughter Susie was the sweetest touch.

I loved this book. It will absolutely be in my top five for this year.

And amazing story with some deeper topics that are very well written and even though they could bring down the mood of the book they didn't. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and enjoy some spice through this rollercoaster of a book. Logan and Eloises chemistry is fantastic with all the great characters we have fallen in love with in this series.

4.5 star rating, thanks to Andrea Anderson for an advanced copy for my honest review.

Another lovely book.

I was very thankful this was a dual POV bc I wasn’t sure we as readers could get the feel of Logan without his inner voice.

Eloise was a lovely person and while she had no big trauma it was interesting to read about her rich privilege but lonely life.

The ending was … perfect.

I have been anxiously waiting for Elosie and Logan's story! This is the best done miscommunication trope. The efforts that they make to show one another that they care, beautiful! I love love love that she learns ASL to communicate in his preferred method and so that the burden isn't on him. 👏👏👏👏 This book says stuff "out loud" that we need to be more comfortable saying, that we need to be more comfortable hearing, recognizing things that are NOT ok (consent isnt just one time and if your partner isn't participating they stopped consenting!) Working on these situations with the characters and walking beside their growth provides hope that we can keep doing this thing called life and thrive!

I got this book as a ARC for a honest review.

I have loved this whole series. Eloise has really grown since book one and Logan well, he’s just always been my brooding giant.

I loved getting to see these two grow together and all the ways he showed up for Eloise when she wasn’t expecting him. I loved their ending.

But that epilogue….. 🥹😅

I have been in a book slump but I was able to finish this and that’s saying something when you’re in the slums.

Logan and Eloise are so goddamn CUTE together. I'm absolutely OBSESSED with this book and could not put it down.

And for it to be a HOCKEY romance?! 1000/10! Hockey romance books are my absolute favorite type of books ever and I'm so glad I found this book.

I also absolutely love the disability rep. I feel like I've read so many books and I haven’t come across many (if any at all) with deaf/HOH characters so this was a very nice thing to see! I would love to read more books with this kind of representation.

(I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.)

“’I’m fine,’ I immediately spoke up, but my trembling gave me away. Logan stepped into my space, lifting his hands with a question on his face. ‘Please hold me,’ I whispered... I hid my face against his button-up shirt. His large hands made soothing passes down my back, my arms, my legs, my neck, whatever part of me he could touch. As if he was both trying to reassure me and himself that I was okay. That I was here, and that he had me.”
🤟🏻
After teasing us for two books, we FINALLY get to know more about these characters... and it totally pays off! Usually I’m not a big fan of the “miscommunication trope,” but Andrea makes it uniquely her own because Logan is only able to speak through ASL and Eloise doesn’t know much of the language. While he is forced to listen to her misunderstanding his signs or his cryptic facial expressions, he is unable to fully explain himself. Up until this point, Logan is always the quiet one in the corner (usually because Court’s dragged him to some event... hello, Mr. Grumpy Pants) because of his lack of verbal communication abilities and his disinterest in engaging with others via ASL.

But, adding to the depth of the story, we get Logan's POV throughout the book, which adds to the tension and makes us kick our feet in giddy entertainment. Now we get to know who he really is and we get to fall in love with him, which is what we always want in a romance. I mean, who doesn’t love a man who is BIG on explicit consent, willing to learn about how to be a better, more supportive partner (and actually follows through with actions!), likes to poke fun at people, cares about people deeply, lives with the literal scars of his pain, is always observing, and will fiercely protect those he loves.

And, Eloise? Gosh, I relate to her because I am also trying to grapple with my own detrimental people pleasing. But her growth from the first book is wonderful to observe and she quickly grows on you. I LOVED the development of Eloise and Logan’s relationship from the previous books to this one, they really go through it, eventually finding ways to express themselves. Their love story is beautiful in its imperfections with both characters growing into better people for themselves and for their partner. The tenderness between them feels earned, in a way I can’t fully describe, but it adds depth to the story that you will love. This truly feels like the perfect way to end this series! Bravo, Andrea! I’m excited to see what else Andrea writes, because I am such a fan, even if it’s hard to say goodbye to these characters for now... until the next reread!
"I felt like I had a place in the world. Like I belonged and was supported... For the first time in my adult life, I felt like I fit. Like these people saw me for me. Even Logan... was able to make me feel both cherished and appreciated."

I have been an Andrea Andersen fan for over a year when I first stumbled onto her TikTok account. I immediately read "What It Means to be Whole" after I liked what she said on her posts. I devoured it over a weekend. Then I got to be an ARC reader for her second book "What It Means to be Brave" and devoured that in 24 hours. And now, I've read her third book in just under 20 hours. And yup, devoured this one too.

I have a soft spot for Logan - might be because I married a Canadian obsessed with hockey - but he is such a softie at heart and I've loved him through the second book well into this one. It took me a little longer to like Eloise but I got there. It didn't help that one of her first thoughts was "Hockey wasn't that cool of a sport" because... duh... I married a Canadian and can 100% attest that it is indeed cool. Anyway, her development was wonderful throughout the book - I truly enjoyed many of her epiphanies to move on from her people pleasing ways.

This book made me laugh more so than Andersen's other books. There were a few times I found myself chuckling or grinning like a buffoon, mostly after something Taylor or Courtney said (Andrea, when are we getting a Taylor book?!).

I also love the way that Andersen represents the hard of hearing/deaf community. In all of her books she has disability rep that actually means something. So often I see authors have disability rep but then make something happen to them where they magically get their ability back or they skirt past things. Andersen doesn't do that - she leans into it.

The romance was wonderful and made me swoon. I loved the Facetiming (why don't more modern romances do that???) and the fun texts. It was an easy read with a happy ending - exactly what I need in a modern romance. I also would like to thank Andersen for not having a third act breakup - man, those are annoying.

100% recommend. Andersen has a forever reader in me.

My Thoughts

This was beautiful story about two humans trying to navigate life and love that end up finding each other despite the ups and downs of miscommunication due to the MMC/s mutism/vocal injury. I couldn’t put it down it was so sweet and heart warming. Absolutely love a dual POV especially when he falls first and let me tell you he falls HARD, that poor boy never stood a chance.

I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves a heartwarming fluffy romance with a bit of spice and a HEA

Some of my favourite moments/quotes

The dedication “To those who haven't found their place or people in this world, you will.”

“I would much rather have her, and have to let her go, than never know what it’s like to experience her love at all.”

“Everyone assumes things, and it's normal for people to feel threatened by those who do not understand their experiences entirely.”

DISCLAIMER: I was fortunate enough to get to read this book a week before its original release (Thank you so much Andrea 🌻🌻🫶)

I also rate books purely based on vibes, i am in no way or form someone you should take notice of my 5 star ratings, heh.

Eloise and Logan’s story is one i’ve been anticipating for a WHILE. and let me tell you: it. did. not. disappoint.

I see little bits of myself in each of the characters (mostly Taylor tho)

Eloise is a badass character. Starting to learn ASL out of spite at first, but then because she wanted to be able to communicate with Logan without one of her friends interpreting. She had so much growth in the span of this story, and i am GENUINELY happy for her. I started her book with a smile on my face and i ended her book with a big ass grin on my face.

Logan is, deep down, a sweetheart. He was gone for Eloise almost immediately, he just didn’t want to admit it, lolz (he be like me fr). I can imagine being an NFL player and have to rely on ASL as primary communication with coaches and players is hard af, but he gets through fine. He also talks about therapy and how it’s helped him. I just really love this soft bear of a man.

I don’t think ive ever read a book where the first open door scene is phone smex, and honestly? it suited their characters so well, and you immediately knew what to expect for the future.

All in all, i think this is a book Andrea can be really proud of and i will be sure to recommend it to everyone and their mother🫶

10/10, 5 stars and every good rating i can come up with 💅💅💅

I saw this cover a few months back and immediately added this book to my tbr. I mean, look at it?? The way they're embracing each other and just the way he is holding her - I needed to know what their story was.

This was slow moving for me at first, but once it really got going, I was obsessed. This had disability and ASL representation, specifically with our mmc, Logan, who lost his voice in a car accident and used ASL to communicate. I liked how we got to see different facets of the deaf/hard of hearing community with some of the side characters and how we learned more about that culture.

I really loved reading about Eloise and Logan falling in love. The miscommunication from their beginning interactions were completely understandable and it was very touching to see them work on learning how to communicate with each other, but especially how Eloise made it a point to learn ASL so that Logan could outwardly communicate with her by his preferred method.

The conversation on consent in this was one of my favorite parts. It was almost triggering due to some stuff I went through a couple years ago, but it's an important topic and I appreciated the way it was discussed in this book.

This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last. It was emotional, occasionally funny, and just felt so real. Also, it reads as a true standalone. I didn't read the other books prior to this one and I had no problem following along.

thank you, Andrea Anderson, for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Logan x Eloise's story took my breath away. I have been impatient to get to their story ever since they were introduced in WIMTBB. And we all hate the miscommunication trope, but this... this you will love.

Logan (like Archer Hale) had an accident when he was 18, lost his voice and uses ASL to communicate, as well as texting. I love how he opens himself up to his friends around him. How he and Eloise's friendship grows and then they explore their feelings.

How he and Eloise met, well... let's say it didn't go well.

Eloise is a character that we can all relate to. And I think the lesson we can all learn is that you will grow as a person, as long as the people you're surrounding yourself with are able to help and support you.

First off, each book in the What it Means series keeps getting better and better! And I loved the first one! So I can't stop recommending all three!

This series will be a set of books that I return to and reread multiple times! What It Means To Be Found was absolutely amazing! I read quite a lot of books in this genre and I find that I struggle to stay engaged through most of them. But I was hooked the entire way through WIMTBF! I love the pacing of this book and the buildup of anticipation between the two main characters is spot on!

I really appreciate the fact that since this is a haters to lovers book, the author didn't rely on making one of the characters toxic. I found that the situation and backstory for each of the two main characters is incredibly realistic and relatable.

The ending of this story is so well done! I was an emotional wreck in the best possible way! I basically sat in silence after finishing the book and just had so much to process. I think WIMTBF delves the deepest into some really meaningful messages!

ARC review:

THIS WAS SO AMAZING!!!! I don't know what I was expecting jumping into book three of a series. But I'm so obsessed. One of my top reads for the year.

I'm here for all the unique personalities these characters had. I think it's such a perfect blend of characters that form this friend group. I haven't read the previous two books but didn't feel like I didn't have enough information to know what was going on: these can definitely be read as standalones.

I love the development of the relationship as well the progression from what kinda seemed like only focusing on physical attraction to slowly falling for each other was really well done. And the period comfort scenes 😍🫠🫠

Also huge shout out to the representation of HH/deaf/ASL communities and culture, consent, and trauma themes. This was so well done!

I love the What It Means To Be series by Andrea Andersen, I found this books through bookstagram, and What It Means To Be Found is the third and (currently) last one in the series.

Eloise and Logan’s story is beautifully written, they are enemies, hate each others guts, and have lots of communication issues. They have the most amazing group of friends, so one day they go to a sport event and realize Logan is part of the team and that same day Eloise discovers alien erotica books, to say the least everything goes wild from their on.

This book made me cry like a baby, but that’s normal for me reading the series, because they make you feel like you are part of something, like their group of friends, there is no judgment, just support and love.
I love then all, Beck, Adam, Court, Josh, Eloise, Logan, Taylor and Susan, thank you Andrea for sharing this story with us.

Sorry if this is an emotional review, because this books give me all the feels. And if I didn’t have to read 2 more books this weekend I would read them all over again.

Eloise grew up a lot in this book. I grew up with all of the characters a lot over the course of the three books in this series.

I didn’t think I could love a couple more than I loved Courtney and Josh, but I was very quickly proved wrong. The spice, the independent falling in love and then falling in love together, the sneaking around, the kitchen scene…the freaking time-out box. All of it was so good, and I’m so happy with the way Logan and Eloise’s story was told. As a Colorado Avalanche fan some of this was painful to read (Avalanches? lol) but the bit about the Colorado air was too true.

The epilogue was everything everyone needed and more. I, just like Susan, wish we could have seen Eloise and Logan get married. But maybe we’ll see it one day.

I was lucky enough to revieve an ARC of this book for an honest review. Oh, Andrea, you do have a way with romance. I absolutely adored this book, and I was literally begging for it by the end of What it Means to be Brave. This group of people makes you feel so seen and heard and you're really only reading about their world. As I said, I loved Eloise and Logan from the start, but to watch them both grow and come together with where they started was an incredible journey. I love the strong feminist themes in this book and the pop culture references that make my heart so full as they're things I also love. I also really love the sensitive men, and how supportive they truly are, being masculine without overshadowing their ladies. It's truly inspiring. I loved it. Five stars of course.

This book is full of angst and tension. The banter between Eloise and Logan is EVERYTHING. Also..the spice was spicing. 🥵

From the start of the book we learn about Eloise and Logan’s past and we get a flashback of how they ended up in their “dislike” of each other. They are always around each other because of their AMAZING friend group, but for about a year they tried to just stay out of each other’s way. Throughout the story we start to witness them opening up more to each other and getting to know one another on a better level. Their connection never felt forced, it came so natural and I ate it up!

THE MAN READ ROMANCE BOOKS FOR HER!! 🫠

I thought Courtney and Josh were going to be my favorite from this series, but boy did Eloise and Logan prove me wrong.

*****NO SPOILERS*****

I received an ARC of What It Means To Be Found.

Andrea has done it yet again! This book I anticipated so much. Ever since pie-maggedon I longed for the Lo/Gan enemies to lovers story I needed to simply feed my soul. I typically do not follow a series that changes main characters but with all three of these working seamlessly, and whatever bookwh*re crack Andrea puts into her characters, she’s got me hooked.

This book did not disappoint. I was laughing, crying, and swooning throughout the entire thing. Andrea if you’re reading this, I won’t forgive you for that epilogue. It’s the day after I’ve finished and I’m still crying over words on a page. Although this series (I think- don’t quote me) has come to a conclusion, you have earned a lifelong reader from me.

WIMTBF is the 3rd in the series and may be the best one yet. Andrea’s writing has improved so much through this series and you can see how much she is embracing her author status.

Logan and Lo are basically enemies to lovers but the attraction is so strong you know they will both cave eventually. And while I loved their story what I loved the most was Lo’s transformation. She has grown so much over this series and to see her embracing her new life and finding family and friends who encourage her is so inspiring.

While sometimes the writing gets bogged down in too much information, the overall story telling is great and it’s such a sweet story. It’s a great ending to the series and I am looking forward to what Andrea comes up with next.

Oh my word, this book! Andrea Andersen is the Queen of the Slow Burn. The way she crafts this love story keeps you gripped through it's perfect pace. Eloise and Logan are both realistic and relatable characters. Watching both their individual and relationship's relationship is fantastic.

As a disabled woman, I, especially, appreciate Andrea's thoughtful and sensitive depiction of Logan's disability. The way she wove his use of ASL and disability into the story without making that the only note of his character was superb. It's clear Andrea did her research and worked with members of the disability community to assure the story supports positive/accurate representation and doesn't fall into any stereotypes or negative depictions.

WHAT WAS THAT ENDING 😭😭🥹
Eloise & Logan relationship was something that I was really expecting since WIMTBB. And oh boy, nothing could have prepared me for this book.
The dialogues, 🌶 scenes, and transitions moments were all on point. The ending was something that I was not expecting, and I really took a moment to CRY because NOOOO.
I wasn't ready to say goodbye (when ykyk), but I'll miss this gang a lot 🥹
I hope Andrea keeps giving us ALS /HoH representation in her books because, imo she has been doing an amazing and very respectful job.
Also, in this book, we see Eloise struggle with where the boundaries of consent are, and it's a very valid problem that was dealt with spectacularl.y

I officially have a new book boyfriend!! LOGAN OMG!!! These books have now become my comfort books. I can't wait to own them every way. Eloise and Logan are absolutely perfect together. They bring out the best in each other and make each other better. I loved how their relationship started so rough and problematic and ended so perfectly. This book made me feel so many emotions in every great way. The representation was a huge thing for me and I love how respectful and obviously how well you researched. Thank you for honoring a community that isn't frequently represented. The spice was phenomenal!

I love reading books from people who are just starting out on their writing career. Having followed Andersen’s journey from her first novel to her latest the growth is and depth of her writing is exceptional. I found myself blushing many times while reading her latest installment in public due to how confident she has become in writing spicy scenes.
The only reason I’m giving it a 4 star rating is due to the curveball she threw to readers at the end of her book.
If you’re looking for a progressive, contemporary and spicy romance book look no further than What It Means To Be Found and the rest of the What It Means books!

This is an enemies to lovers, language barrier, mute MMC x rich girl FMC. He’s an NHL hockey player, she works at a clinic. Found family, phone sex, lots of sign language and discussions around deep topics.
Smut was 2/5 on the spice scale and its a HEA ~ the finale of the series!

Eloise was surprisingly relatable actually. I wasn’t expecting to relate but her monologues around people pleasing, anxiety, and other stresses were comforting strangely.

Logan.. He was hot. I’m a sucker for the strong and silent type, what can I say? I felt his frustration and angst, and a man who wants to do better and actually learns to be better?? SIGN. ME. UP.

Let me first just say, I loved this series. So much. Not only is the romance spot on but the friend group has my whole entire heart.

But this book. THIS BOOK. I was squealing and kicking my feet the whole time. I laughed, I cried, and learned about things that I had never thought of before.

And who am I to turn down a hockey romance with top notch spice? (Spoilers/not spoilers: This one is the spiciest and horniest out the whole series 🤌)

There's really just nothing not to like, honestly.

I really enjoyed this one!!!! There was more spice than the others in the series. I was so ready for Eloise and Logan’s book and it did not disappoint. This book focused a lot on enthusiastic consent. It did feel like some times it was beating you over the head with it, but that’s a very important topic so I didn’t mind. As in the other books it featured differently abled people and people who use they/them pronouns as well as people of different sexual orientations and preferences, and I appreciate reading books that include that. The book was great BUT THE EPILOGUE WRECKED ME.

Eloise is working to separate herself from being the people-pleaser she was raised to be, and the harm it caused her while navigating a new friend group.

Logan is the beautiful man who also recently joined that group, but who has had communication snafus with her so bad that she’s confident that she hates him.

Then a series of tipsy texts to the wrong person results in them getting to understand each other better, opening paths to healing, growth and more.

Holy. Shit. I FLEW through this book. Not only was the story so good but the writing was also amazing. I never found myself dying to be done (but at the same time I was dying to get to the end, ya know?)

I was laughing, I was crying. I can’t stand how cute Logan was. Ugh. I wish I could read it for the first time all over. I’m obsessed.
