Praise for the Chilling Tales for the Campfire series
"Wonderfully chilling tales which bring to mind old Stephen King."

"Blair Daniels is an amazing storyteller."

"Genuine creepypasta vibes, disturbing moments hitting all the right spots, even if you read the book in one sitting!"

"Blair Daniels' work needs to be translated to the screen. Goosebumps for grown-ups. Think Ray Bradbury, Richard Matheson, Charles Beaumont, even a little M.R. James (especially in this volume), with a distinctly modern woman's voice."

Blair Daniel's stories are candy for all horror fans, and a new book of hers is a must-read for everyone who appreciates short creepy stories, hair-raising snapshots of all kinds of horror: domestic, psychological, supernatural, and paranormal. She's definitely the queen of creepypasta, each book offering even more well-done goosebumps-iducing tales of spookiness. I liked all of the stories, but especially the opening story, "The Camera That Shows Your Last Photograph," which is exactly about what the title says, but has some great moments towards the end, when Daniels shows fully how imaginative the situation can become; "I Deliver Letters To Dead People," the longest story in the book, about a amilman who discovers letters sent to people who soon turn up dead, but he's not really thinking things through as much as he should; the closing story, flash fiction, "The Cursed House," a surprising use of the horror trope of one's staying in a cursed house; "This is my House," a ghost story with a twist; "Has Anyone Heard Of The Bloodworth Incident?", my favorite story, absolutely brilliant and creepy (I'd gladly read a whole novella of this!); "The Strange Grocery Store," a chilling tale of a night watchman in a bizarre store; and "Disturbing Youtube Ad," a very smart portrayal of how even online ads can turn dark in Daniels' hands! Great book, great fun overall!

Blair Daniels never fails to captivate with their short stories. Constantly at the edge of my seat and often whispering "What?? No!" to myself, I tear through these stories faster and faster, eager for more. The right balance of intrigue and horror, you can't go wrong with this book of short horror tales.

I've been a fan of Miss Daniels for a long while now and tend to review most of what she writes. She has a knack for stories that are short, punchy, and oftentimes leave you disturbed. Let Me In is no different. I'd argue that this is one of her strongest collections to date, in fact, with just two stories that I found a bit weak. Out of thirty I'd say that's pretty darn good. If you're looking for something to send short, sharp shivers down your spine then pick this one up. P.S. The new cover is kind of unsettling to look at, no?.

Some of these stories were fun, but overall I was kind of frustrated because a lot of them felt half-finished. I think the author was trying to end on a cliffhanger, but it often reads like there's going to be another part to the story that just doesn't exist. Once or twice this is fine, but when it's almost every story I found it a bit annoying. I would pick this up if you like this genre of short story and are okay with an ambiguous ending, but for me personally it wasn't my favorite.

The stories are absolutely gripping, and build tension and suspense wonderfully. Be warned, if you start reading, you cannot stop! Each story started off fairly innocuously, and then built over time to a spine tingling conclusion.

It has been a long time since I read a book that I could not physically put down!.

When I saw another book by Blair Daniels I grabbed it immediately, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed and I was right. I didn't find any of the stories dull at all and caught myself wishing I wasn't running out of pages. This author has easily become one of my faves when it comes to horror because she knows how to capture the mind of readers. Definitely a page turner and I highly recommend this book.

That was less than bland - wtf! How?!

Well it fits well with my personal oppinion of the wild difference I experience in the authors published works.. either it's the most awesome ever! or it's just... well, even reddit would have rejected it ffs.

Sadly this is one of those, there is not a single story in it that I care about, bland and boring. =( - I deffinitly recommend you go get 'don't look' if you want to dip your toes into this series.

Blair Daniels has once again captivated readers with her latest release, showcasing her talent for crafting spine-chilling narratives with precision and finesse. As an avid reader of her works, I eagerly delved into her latest offering, and true to form, it did not disappoint.

Daniels has a knack for weaving intricate plots that seamlessly blend elements of horror and suspense, drawing readers into a world where the line between reality and the supernatural blurs. Each story is meticulously crafted, with just the right amount of eerie atmosphere and unexpected twists to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

What sets Daniels apart is her ability to create characters that feel both familiar and unsettling, adding depth to her narratives and ensuring that readers become emotionally invested in their fates. Whether it's a haunted house, a mysterious stranger, or a seemingly ordinary object with a dark secret, Daniels knows how to tap into our deepest fears and leave us questioning the very fabric of our reality.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Daniels' writing is her ability to evoke a sense of unease that lingers long after the final page has been turned. Her stories have a way of burrowing into your subconscious, haunting your thoughts, and leaving you looking over your shoulder long after you've finished reading.

In conclusion, Blair Daniels continues to solidify her reputation as a master of the macabre with each new release. Her books are a testament to her talent and dedication to the craft of storytelling, and I eagerly anticipate diving into whatever dark and twisted tales she has in store for her readers next. If you're a fan of horror fiction that's both impeccably crafted and deliciously creepy, then Blair Daniels is an author you won't want to miss.

Check out the review in my blog - https://kalaikoodam.blogspot.com/2024...

The book is a set of 30 horror short stories. There are stories of a disturbing YouTube ad, a glitch in Minecraft, a postman supposedly having to deliver letters to the dead, the camera that shows your last photograph, a strange behaving dog, a headless jogger, a camera getting hacked, a garden hose that keeps growing, and creepy encounters in the motel, grocery store, mail, suburb, cursed house, etc.

I would not say that all the stories are horror in nature. The right word would be creepy. While the stories were not scary, it was creepy. I liked the ideas that the writer had in these stories. The read was a quick one and the stories were very short, the longest being around 10 pages long. While some of the stories were just normal read; most others were interesting. Some of them did creep me out. I like how some stories involved technology being used as a medium for horror. The language was easy enough. I felt that a few stories were too short to wrap my head into it. Having said that, the good ones were crazy enough too. One of my favorite stories was what a security encountered in a grocery store during his night shift. I was able to complete the book in a few hours which was very quick enough. Even though the stories were good enough, most of them did not linger in my mind too much. It might be my fault as I am not accustomed to reading many short stories in English.

To sum it up, a quick and creepy read that might interest horror seekers. This might not scare you, but might creep you out.

Blair Daniels is an insanely prolific horror writer, with a huge number of tales published between the No Sleep community on Reddit and her Kindle collections and novella. I have consistently found her works to be enjoyable reads. Let Me In is no exception.

Let Me In consists of 30 stories, ranging in length from extremely brief to more "standard" short stories, all of which feel like quick and engaging reads. Daniels has a recognizable narrative voice, but the actual subject matter varies substantially, jumping from ghosts to technology to more... uncommon threats.

If you're on the fence, I suspect that the first story ("The Camera That Shows Your Last Photograph") will be in the Kindle sample. This was one of my favorite stories from the collection, and can serve as an introduction to the author's style.

Collection of super short stories, even the ones that were a little longer were still quite short. These were great for when I just had a little time to read, I could squeeze in a few and feel more OK putting it down to do other things I had to, or you can dive in a read a bunch of them at once. They were all good, some I really loved and wanted more of that storyline, which I think is a good thing for a short story.
I kind of loved having a book to use for filler in really short bursts of time, could read for a few minutes and not be mad I wasn't at the end of a chapter or section - I always have to stop reading at a set break, these stories were perfect for that! I was also able to set it aside for a bit to read book 1 of a series that I got an arc of book 2 and come back without having to remember anything from before.

I'm A huge fan of Blair Daniels. I've read a lot of her books, follow her on social media and talk to my friends about her books. I love her writing style, the ordinary people in her stories, the visual sound effects.
This is a collection of thirty creepy tales. My favorites, in no particular order:

The Headless Jogger
Garden Hose
The Zmory
I'm Trapped in an Infinite Suburb
This Is My House
There's Something Wrong With This Hospital
Strange Dog

I swear that I've read these tales before (probably on her subreddit)
A Phone Call With My Husband
Monster In Your Closet
I Hacked a Ring Camera
Disturbing YouTube Ad

These are awesome stories, and very fast reading! Great job Blair!!!

As always, Blair doesn't disappoint. I absolutely love reading her stories before bed (and if I have time during the day chasing the kids)
This is another great addition to her wonderful work. She is truly a mastermind, writes hundreds of stories and not one sounding like another. Each story is extraordinary leaving me with inability to stop reading. This book does not disappoint, I can't wait for the next!.

Macabre Tidbits

I enjoyed the chills these well written short stories gave me. Would you dare to use a camera which shows you your very last picture? What if you worked in a motel or a grocery store where your life is at risk if you do not follow the rules? A hospital may not be a safe haven for the sick. Some dogs cannot be kept as pets. Ghostly entities and strange creatures are aptly portrayed in the book. A page turner with blood curdling stories not for the faint hearted.

I loved this book. It was like the children's horror anthologies I read as a kid only for adults and a lot creepier. It just felt very nostalgic and made me feels like a kid again. There are so many different stories that anyone should be able to find something that they will enjoy in it. I had just planned to read a couple at first then read more later but I just couldn't stop once i started. I enjoyed them all and just got more excited to see what the next one would be as I read.

”…her knees bent the wrong way, her fingers far too long. With another horrible crackling sound, her neck stretched out two feet long, twisting and serpentine. And then she looked at me.”

All great spooky stories! Some stories were short like I’m talking like 1 minute short, but soooo good that left me wanting them to continue! Can’t wait to read more short stories from this author👻

From a grocery store security officer to an unusual drive to visit friends, each story depicts a scenario just slightly off. A shadow separates from its owner to wreak havoc, a mailman delivers black envelopes to people soon to face death. Each scenario will leave you with a sense of unease.

I loved this book! This was my first time reading a short storybook like this but I love watching 2 minute horror stories or reading them on Reddit. I read this book super fast and have already been recommending it to people. Some of the stories I did wish were longer because they were so good! If you like short scary stories this is perfect. A fun one for scary stories to tell in the dark!

such a fresh air to read a collection of short horror stories that are set in the modern world, not the cliché B rated movie one. some are simple terrors, some are actually smart, black mirror kind of twists that i only wish were a few pages longer. each story has its own intriguing plot.
interesting throughout. quite a page turner.

2.5⭐️ My rating has more to do with not enjoying this style of book rather than any criticism over the author's writing. I thought the ideas behind each short story was fab and each one in turn being written as an entire book would probably make great reads. However for me the snippets weren't enough. I would definitely check out any full books from this author.
