I have boiling hot lava flowing through my veins. A look, the wrong word, or even the slightest touch is all it takes for me to erupt. People fear me. Even my brothers keep their distance and are wary of my unpredictable nature. Then she comes along. She doesn’t run in fear. She is unique, and she is the calm I didn’t know I needed. She. Is. Mine.
Dixie
There was a time I didn’t understand how Beauty could fall for the Beast. The big, bad tempered, unpredictable, scary monster. And yet here I am, drawn to a man who is anything but normal, but then again, with my hidden past, neither am I. To escape hell and run into the arms of a monster probably isn’t the smartest move, but I just can’t seem to tear myself away.
Is it impossible for this monster to fall in love? Maybe all it takes is a little something unique to calm the Rage.
A dark love story, threatened by the past, threatened to be destroyed, before it’s even begun.
A dark MC romance recommended for ages 18and over.
I'm a self published author. I fell in love with reading as an adult, when I found the romance genre. I immediately got sucked into the stories and fell in love. The romcom, the dark, the Suspense, all of them!
I struggled a lot with reading and writing when I was younger. Being dyslexic made it extremely hard for me, but I loved writing stories even then.
I wrote Rise Above in secret too scared and embarrassed that it wasn't good enough, that people would laugh at it, at me. My husband pushed me to take the leap. So I did. Not having an editor to start with and a friend making my cover it scary jumping into a world your unsure of what to do. Learning as I go. Its the best decision I ever made. The response was amazing. I am currently working on the rest of the series. And plan on writing until I run out of words. I love it and one thing I've learnt is you only live once and you should to do what you love and what makes you happy. I hope that people enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
4.5 Rage and Dixie oh wow. What a perfect couple. Both had hideous pasts and had trouble with other people. I love that they both helped each other. My poor heart broke for Rage I just wanted to hug him myself. It's been a while since I've read a book with a couple more perfect than these two. I was nice to see a guy who hasn't slept with hundreds of OW and that he could give that part of himself to Dixie
Okay, so Rage. I actually enjoyed it. After surviving the grammar apocalypse that was the first two books, I was not expecting to vibe with this one as much as I did. But somehow, here I am, kind of invested, kind of annoyed, and kind of yelling at Star through my screen. So yeah, business as usual.
Let’s be real: the grammar is still... a whole mess. Like, I don’t need literary perfection, but dang. It’s giving “unedited group chat,” and not in a charming way. I was out here rereading sentences trying to figure out if I missed a word or if the book just decided to freestyle. Still, despite the chaos, the story itself? Solid. Pacing? Actually decent. It had just enough drama and momentum to keep me turning the pages instead of rage-quitting. (Pun absolutely intended.)
But now - let’s address the Star-shaped elephant in the room. I. Am. So. Over. Her. How does she still have this much screen time?! She had her book. Her moment. Her everything. But in Rage, she’s back with her main-character energy and not in a cute way. Sis talks so much and brings so little to the table. At this point, I’d pay money just to mute her scenes. She’s self-centered, exhausting, and somehow still stealing oxygen from way more interesting characters.
And don’t even get me started on Ghost. I love that man, but WHY is he still simping over Star like she’s the last snack on Earth? My guy deserves peace. He deserves quiet. He deserves someone who doesn’t act like she’s starring in a one-woman show 24/7.
That said... Ghost still slaps. As do some of the newer developments and characters, which actually pulled me in more than I expected. There’s growth, there’s tension, and despite the editorial chaos, I stayed hooked. Shockingly, Rage ended up feeling like a bit of a glow-up compared to the first two books. Not perfect by any stretch, but we’re heading in the right direction.
So yeah, if you’ve already committed to this wild ride of a series, definitely keep going. Just brace yourself for more grammar gremlins and another round of Star being Star (aka loud and mildly unbearable). But hey, the story is getting juicier, and there’s enough character growth to keep it interesting.
Bottom line? Rage had me rolling my eyes and turning pages. We love a complicated relationship. 😂
So this one made 24 of my lists. I’m not proud. Or deterred. There was so much to the main characters that it’s hard to dissect. I could put this book on lists all day long and still not come to the heart of the story. First, we have the MMC, Rage. Rage had a horrible, traumatic childhood involving Munchausen’s By Proxy. Needless to say, he’s a pretty angry person. He misses most emotional cues and takes many things literally, but he is extremely perceptive about practical things. The book compares the love between him and Dixie to Beauty and the Beast, if the Beast were feral, and that’s a pretty good description. Dixie is a nurse, and she, too had a horrific childhood. The trauma experienced by Rage is detailed and the physical abuse (but not the SA) suffered by Dixie is also described enough to be very disturbing, so please be aware of your limits and triggers before reading. Triggers? Oh yeah. If this book took you to dinner and you moaned “Trigger” afterwards, the book wouldn’t get mad. So this is definitely a dark romance. The love between Dixie and Rage is extreme, mainly because Rage is so intense. She is his entire focus. She relieves him of his V-Card, and they are really, really happy about it. (Apparently, he’s gifted in the size department, because everyone who sees it comments, which is Fanservice if you’re a size queen). I thought the sexytime was well done and not at all awkward even though she had to coach him the first time. Neither Rage nor Dixie have had these kind of feelings before, and their love is attractive in that primal MINE kind of way. Side characters are great, including Star, who is a total badsass. The big bad is straight-up creepy af, which is perfect. Much of the story focuses on the love, but there’s enough plot to keep me interested. I truly enjoyed this story- what is it about broken, dark heroes? Le sigh- and I recommend it if you like dark MC Romance. Book is SAFE meaning no cheating and no current SA or details about past SA. Heat is EXPLICIT, featuring a VIRGIN HERO. TRIGGERS… oh, you’re gonna need to pack a lunch and bring a chair because this is gonna take a while… including but not limited to: and language. (I put most of the triggers under a spoiler screen because they are pretty disturbing in themselves, plus they are a little plot-spoilery.) MAIN TROPES- Found Family, Childhood Trauma, Hello Nurse!, Hero with Darkness, Abused Heroine On the Run, Forced Proximity, Captor/Captive, Instalove, J-P Hero, Protector, Silent Lucidity, and Opposites Attract.

"No. If something happens to her because of me, then I will not be able to live another fucking second. If they make her bleed, if they hurt a single fucking hair on her head, I will unleash so much fury that the rivers and the seas will run fucking red with their blood," . . I am so disappointed with this book, i've really liked rage throughout the series so far and I couldn't wait to read his story and now that I have it fell so flat for me, I really found it hard to get through I found it really cringey and awkward and I had to keep putting it down because it was so hard to read. Dixie's character was okay but again, compared to Star and Maggie I don't think she really had the right fit in this group, I really tried to enjoy their character's together but I personally don't think they fit at all. The storyline was okay, I am glad we had a bit of plot but compared to what we started with it was okay. I am sad whenever I read my favourite characters book they lose their spark or personality and I just dont understand why. I am excited to read Hawk's book but at this time I don't really have high hopes because I feel like the books are getting shorter and more rushed unfortunately.
Now, I wasn’t sure that I’d love Rage, having read the first two books and not seen much ‘oomph’ from him in the way of flirty banter, just pure psychotic.
But I am incredibly pleased to say he is coming up trumps so far, with Ghost!
Rage - I just don’t think there’s enough words to derive how much I loved him. Coming from a traumatic background, in the MC for his own reasons like all of the others, knows nothing but pure loyalty for his brothers and family. But just like his name indicates, sometimes he can’t really control his actions. And then in comes the ditzy, yet completely loveable Dixie who is just the sweetest, funniest little “darlin’”. Complete with her own baggage (I mean, who isn’t?!), she turns Rage’s world upside down, making US ALL question the trance she has over him!
He’s psychotic, crazy, and unhinged, but we love him for it!
Another incredible book that touches on some really dark aspects but once again, beautifully written.
This is a beauty and the beast, meets sons of anarchy love affair.
I'm not sure what has been laced in this book but I couldn't put it down! I read this over two evenings!
Poor Rage, has been through so much in his life that its quite understanable the way he is. All building up and no release, it's heart warming to see how he loves Dixie. He's too honest, with absolutely no filter.
The banter than Star brings to this book, keeps it light hearted throughout the darkness.
I would definitely recommend reading Ghost and Cash before Rage, to get a better understanding of the story.
Beauty and the beast is my favourite disney film. It also resonates in this book making it one of my favourite reads. Rage is literally a raging beast of a man...... troubled from childhood, found by a biker gang, he has his reasons for his straight talking, lack of emotional and social skills, that is until Dixie comes crashing into his life. Dixie the Belle of the ball, does come with an air of innocence even though her upbringing was just as difficult. They start on their story to their own happy ending with a few bumpy roads along the way with no amount of drama breaking them a part. L G Campbell has the ability to captivate you very quickly. I didn't want to stop reading. Like riding a roller coaster your not stopping until you get off!! Well Done you've written a cracker again. PS Rage was always my favourite 😍
After meeting Rage in the previous books for this series, i knew id need to get his story and boy what a story he had to tell! His childhood parts actually break your heart as you just know that this happens in real life unfortunately. Seeing him come out of himself when faced with Dixie and her uniqueness , is just beautiful! When you put a little bit pyscho with a little bit crazy its always good to see how it goes and these guys were just perfect. These guys deserved their happy ending together for sure!
OMG I loved Rage and Dixie ❤️❤️❤️ He has no people skills which made him adorable with he’s honest opinions and outburst, Dixie confuses words which is funny and cute. Two very different people who survived an abusive, tragic, messed up life, coming together and learning how to love. I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed reading Rage, a definite page turner. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎
When Rage sees Dixie the big bad man has gone. He has feelings for her that he can't explain. He wants to protect her from everyone. They began to see each and they really do see each other for what they are ... broken. The chemistry is off the charts with them. Deep-bedded secrets are told which brings them closer together. With a few twists and turns it sure is a page-turner. Can't wait for book 4, someone anit going to be happy
Crazy Rage and Ditzy Dixie. I really liked Rage from book 2 but finding out about his childhood and getting to know him more in this book just confirms he is my favourite character. Dixie with her word mix’s up is funny but she turns out to be such a strong character. Just the perfect pairing. This book has everything you want in a mc read and I can’t wait to read more. X
Was looking forward to this story. It’s our quirky nurse Dixie and our psycho Rage. They are so sweet together I loved their story. Again as is common with this author there are editorial issues.
But this had to hold the best, most iconic misspelling of all time, when Rage says: “I’ve just ejaculated my seaman inside you,”
Rage and Dixie's story was so heart warming. Two broken souls who find love. Rage finally smiles because Dixie gets him and all his darkness. Black Hearts Mc will be free from all the chaos surrounding them. I couldn't wait to read Rage's story and it was so worth the wait
"Rage" is a captivating and heartwarming book about two individuals who find love despite their difficult pasts. Dixie's mispronunciations add a touch of sweetness and humor to the story. Overall, I highly recommend reading this page-turner. I can’t wait for LG Campbell next book.
I've always wondered what Rage's story was and was excited about this book! Rage and Dixie are a great mix. His lack of people skills and her ability to confuse words. They are both from extremely broken pasts. This was another great read and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
Omg I fell in love with Rage in how he protected Dixie and how he was trying to not lose her so he did stuff is the other brothers did. Even though it was wrong the intentions were good.
Rage and Dixie are my new fav duo, you just fall in love with them instantly, as with all L G Campbell's books she takes you on a journey of emotions, one minute your hearts breaking and the next your trying not to pee your pants! This book will not Disappoint!
I love that Rage finally got his book and his background was explained to how he became that man he is. He falls for someone that has her own quirks which make them the perfect pair. Definitely recommend this book, series and author.
I had been waiting for Rage’s story from the first book and it did not disappoint. I felt every emotion. Only not giving five stars because of the grammar but if you can get past that the story is amazing.
New obsession unlocked..... Rage! Going in I was already intrigued by Rage because of his appearances in previous books. I mean...... His own club brothers knew not to poke the angry bear as let's be honest the man is a violent unapologetic blood thirsty monster. But.... Now that I know why this man is he way he is (heartbreaking) and I have seen all sides to him and I couldn't love him any more. Even the crazy 'I have a special freezer side'.
Rage and Dixie are definitely two kindred souls. Both of them have experienced unimaginable and truly heartbreaking childhoods. But.... the way they find something so endearing and safe in each other was so heartwarming. I just adored them together. And... What a journey, in particular for Rage. The way he was instantly 'touch her and die', his unapologetic honesty, the occasional naivety he showed was a little heartbreaking but so endearing and the way he learnt to trust and love Dixie was so beautiful. Did the monster become a teddy bear? Ok let's not get to crazy!! But I definitely saw some sweet softness. Maybe just behind closed doors with Dixie only. Dixie is such a sweet soul and some glad she got a found family with this Motley crew. She definitely deserves it!! Once again the side characters added some crazy mc drama and humour to the story. And... Hawk!!! You little smooth jokester. After the sneak peek I'm so excited for his story....
There was barely any steam. He was a virgin. He liked killing people and keeping body parts of his victims in the freezer. She threw him a birthday party.
