Scarlet has finally started to acclimate to her new situation as a half blood lycan and Guardian. She's joined an Association run by the man who raised her, has participated in several Fractures fighting against the demons, and is now finally attaining her goal of joining a University.
But unlike what she originally planned, this university is a Guardian's University. And their students are all Guardians who spend half of their time fighting the demons and the other half learning how to fight them rather than studying the usual topics.
How will she adapt to this new environment? And what's the deal with her heritage?
Will she survive the year full of Demonic Assaults? Win the ranking tournaments?
Shane Purdy is a college graduate with a Bachelors in Computer Science. At a young age he became fascinated with Fantasy books after reading the Wereworld series by Curtis Jobling, which led to a love of reading that continues to this day.
When he was younger you could almost always find him with a book in his hand (when he wasn’t busy with Band activities that is). As he got older, he started reading online webnovels as well. In June of 2021, after reading thousands of books, he decided to take the plunge and write a book of his own, starting with his first series, Dungeon from the Void.
He writes both high and low progression fantasy novels of varying genres, including Dungeon Core, LitRPG, Cultivation, Sci-Fi and more.
He does not use any sort of social media for his books other than Reddit, he has no Facebook pages, and his Facebook account is private and not public. Therefore if anyone finds public Facebook or other social media accounts outside of Reddit or Discord claiming to be him, they are fake.
This book is a rip roaring power fantasy action thriller very much in the feel of anime. Which is apt because the cover looks like one. There’s no deep philosophy, there’s nothing absolutely new. But if you’re looking for a fast pace, well written variation on familiar tropes than this one’s for you. Honestly, I’m not really sure why I am enjoying this book so much. I just am. And so might you.
Grrr, I hate awkward two minded reviews such as this. 1. The great story line, good MC and well developed world are continued from the 1st book. Yea, cudo's, and normally a 5* review that would have me wanting more. 2. Over use of the LitRPG genre habit of presenting the characters stat sheet. An off the cuff estimate is that 20-25% of the books page count is from the repetitive and unnecessary presentation of a full or nearly full stat sheet -every time it changes and sometimes even when it hasn't. Worse the stat sheet is in an awkward spread sheet column format that is unsuitable for extensive text and thus an estimated 30% blank space. This breaks up the flow for a speed reader such as myself and is actually uncomfortable to deal with. Please find a way to tone it down in future volumes. Please limit the stat sheet data to just the changes as they occur with a full presentation as a preface, an appendix, or when a major change such as the upgrade from Class 1 to Class 2 status occurs.
This book showed a deeper aspect to Scarlet, specifically her emotions and interactions with people. I am interested in what the prophecy could be, and how Scarlet might make that into an unexpected result. Her family doubled in this book, at least the ones she knows about. I look forward to being a fly on the wall when she learns more revelations.
Book 2 of the series introduces more information about our MC and her reality. We learn more about why she wS abandoned, it’s confirmed for her who her mother is and she starts to learn more about what is going on in general. MC continues to grow in strength and skill and she starts building some closer connections.
Overall, this book was enjoyable with a lot of action and adventure but most of the action occurred during a school competition.

I love a strong heroine, and Scarlet makes me feel WWE strong! The book has great flow and an easy to follow story line. Some LitRPGs can have too much information to learn to feel immersed, and this series so far has just enough depth to keep it engaging and entertaining. Recommend!
These are such fun books. Snarky hero, fight scenes and even a tournament. I look forward to reading what happens next. I read these through kindle, but, as with most books, I think listening adds a little more emersion if done well. So, I may at some point listen to the audio version. Well done.
Very fun reading. I love the character Scarlet and can identify her attitude to dresses. I'm not a fan of writing reviews but am a fan of Shane. He's a fabulous writer. This is one of my faves series from him currently.
I find Scarlett to be a great character. I'm really fascinated by all the behind the scenes stuff, the prophecy, white, he grandfather and his hatred of humans. Can't wait for the sequel.
I love Scarlet. And Tar. And the rest of this universe. This is my first Lit RPG series; I don't love the format but I don't hate it either. I do like how her skills increase quite a bit.
The sacrifices parents make can often affect their kids in various ways. Whether good or bad, Scarlets parents made a choice to follow a prophecy. Looking forward to see how that plays out in the next book and adventure of the Scarlet Wolf.
Unlike the first book this managed to capture me fully, from start to finish, leaving me craving to read the next book in the series. The author has some amazing ideas and I can’t wait to see where the story takes Scarlet next!
This was a very good second installment, the plot became more complex, there were new characters, awesome battles, and interesting character development. But above everything the main character is what makes this saga great. I'm picking up the third book right now.
Well you are in luck! This whole book is just a single tournament with expected outcomes. Though the rest of the plot in the book almost offsets the dryness of yet another tournament
