Bedwarmers. It's the name that Rayna chose to call the men that she shared her bed with when the need was too great. It was a safety measure. A person couldn't get their heart shredded if they allowed no one near it. Rayna Norton's sisters and mother were the only ones allowed in her heart. Life was great just the way it was. Her sisters seemed to feel differently.

Christopher Leigh is the perfect man to combat and disrupt Rayna's way of thinking. He is a man with a creative mind and a determined heart. He sees Rayna at her sister's restaurant and immediately knows that he needs to have this woman in his life. The artist that he is sees the beauty of the woman she is and the gift of the future they could have. He just has to convince the ever reluctant attorney that a life shared with him will be one worth her time.

Rayna's issues run deeper than Chris and her sisters could ever perceive. Her chosen way of life has more to it than meets the eye. Will Chris be able to get Rayna to see that he is not like the men of her past? Will Rayna lose out on possibly the perfect man for her because of her own stubbornness? Or will her sisters intervene on her behalf, yet again?

The Norton Sisters is a series about six sisters that share the same last name, but are six entirely different women. The stories of the six almost 30 to in their thirties women will touch your heart and make you laugh out loud. The sisters by age ranking: Zoie, Wynter, Rayna, Nyema, Lynnia and Chyra are there for each other always. It follows the lives of six sisters running their own businesses, falling in love and dealing with the trials that come. They follow their own little "Norton Code": "In the end, family means everything and your sisters hold you up. No matter what may come."

5 Star Read~ I highly recommend this book! I really enjoyed reading this story. I loved how each of the characters were so beautifully written that it was easy to enjoy each of the Norton ladies so Much. Rayna is such a strong character and I love how you could see her change and accept her past and herself all while holding her ground and doing it her way! Zoie with her mothering and nurturing. Lynnia with her take charge and get her way personality and all the other sisters all work so well together as characters that I was drawn in to this story right from the beginning . Mama Norton is also such a great character she reminds me so much of my Grandma with her No nonsense and at the same time care free look on life to her putting her daughters in their place when needed Then there is Chris who is such a great male lead he’s sexy, strong, loyal, and he sees the potential in Rayna and knows right from the beginning that a relationship with her will be a uphill battle but one that is so worth it.The love and relationship that develops between Chris and Rayna was such a beautiful Romance to read it was so realistic and the events progressed as they would in real life they happened in such a way that I could picture them together in 50 years. I Laughed I cried and I even wanted to yell at Rayna and Chris at times in the book. I could feel all the characters emotions leaping off the pages this story is written in a way that you become emotionally invested in the characters and their stories right from the start, some parts of this book will make you reach for a tissue sometimes with sad tears (like when Rayna finally comes clean about her past) and sometimes because your laughing so hard you can’t stop the tears ( like in the first scene between Rayna and Chris I laughed so hard for like 5 minutes) This is such a wonderfully written story with beautifully written Characters I look forward to reading the stories of the other Norton sisters.

This was the first book I read of E L R Jones, but I can definitely say it won't be the last. Jones is a wonderful writer and this book has a great storyline. I love Chris and Rayna and can't wait to see what is in store for the other Norton sisters. This story will make you laugh, cry, and sometimes a little of both. The book had me interested from the start and I loved the relationship that developed between Chris and Rayna. They are both strong characters and once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. I can't to read more of E L R Jones' work.

Rayna shows that even without magic you can find love, through commitment, perseverance, and family that care for you. It shows that no matter how dark the past you can get through it and become your own person and there is someone out there who will always love you. It has kept my interest to where I wasn't reading three or more books along with it and is a truly amazing book.

* I was gifted an ecopy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.*

I really wished I could have given this book more then three stars but the editing was so bad that it took me so much longer to read and re-read parts of the book. I would have loved this book if it were not for all the editing/grammar/spelling errors throughout the story. There were so many typos, misspellings and wrong usage of words that it was disheartening as it distracted from the book and from the possible four or five stars that it could have been. It was very choppy and confusing at times.

In spite of the errors I enjoyed Rayna's story and look forward to reading more from this author. The book has a good storyline but the various nicknames of each character are confusing at the beginning and most of the way through until you almost give up trying to figure it out. The author switches from names with little to no thought as to how the reader will understand who is being discussed and several times I had to go back to see who Zoie was referring to. I also didn't like the way that the author would just shorten names to be Z or L Boogie, as it disrupted the flow of the story. Overuse of descriptions also sometimes bogged down the telling of the story and made the flow almost stop to the point where the reader wanted to skip that part of the story. The reader did not need to know in complete detail about the exact details of Rayna's shower basket or multiple closets and organization to the closets when it had nothing to do with the storyline itself.

Don't get me wrong, it is still worth a read and the sisters are entertaining (once you get them all straight). The love they feel for each other shows through the pages and the girls follow their own little “Norton Code”: “In the end, family means everything and your sisters hold you up. No matter what may come.” I am looking forward to the next story and I am hoping that the editing is better so that the story can reach it's full potential.

Rayna is one of 6 sisters’ and she is the lawyer in the family. She is all about work and has no social life to speak of. Her sister’s try and try to get her to open up but she refuses and they have no idea why. Chris is an artist and is commissioned by Lynnia to do some art work for her restaurant that is opening up. He instantly falls in lust with Rayna when she comes by to see her sister’s restaurant. Rayna being the stubborn woman that she is has NO intention of letting Chris get near her she just KNOWS that he will somehow make her rethink all of her priorities and that is something she is just not ready for. What she is even less read for his tenaciousness in pursuing her. After more than their fair share of rough starts Rayan finally starts to let Chris in. Then in true Rayna fashion pushes him away again. Will Rayna finally be able to put the past behind her and allow herself to be happy? When and if she does will Chris still be there or has he grown tired of her constantly pushing him away once they start to get close? Will Rayna have her happily ever after with Chris? This is a delightful story about family, love loss and passion a wonderful start to what is sure to be an amazing series.

*3.5*
*I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway*

I really enjoyed this book. It was just a cute little love story. It wasn't a life changing story but it was a story that I smiled and laughed while reading it.

When I first seen this book in a giveaway here on goodreads, what immediately drew me to it was that the girls last name is Norton. I thought it was funny because my last name is also Norton. Then when I read the premise I knew it would be something that I would love to read.

There were things that I wished were explained more. Like with Chris' best friends situation. I was hoping we would get some kind of insight on what that was about(and a little disappointed when it didn't). The author would talk vaguely about it but it only made you more confused. I also know that this is going to be a series so maybe a later book explains it more?

I liked this story and maybe someday in the future I will read the rest of the series.

This story is about Rayna Norton and Christopher Leigh, an artist.

Rayna is one of seven sisters and you learn all about the dynamics of her and her sisters and their single mom who raised them. Rayna is a lawyer who is way too busy working to get involved in any relationship.

Christopher Leigh is an artist who was asked by Rayna's sister, Lynnia, for some paintings for her new restaurant. As soon as Chris meets Rayna, he is instantly attracted to her.

Due to Rayna having a little bit too much to drink one night she ends up with Chris but then pushes him away. He tries to get her back but she has her guard up. Will Chris be able to show Rayna how much he cares about her or are the demons in her past too much to let go of.

I liked the book but found at times I started losing interest in it. There was almost too much information regarding the family dynamics that I had a hard time keeping everything straight.

This is a true Love story by a new author to me, E. L. R. Jones. She spun a tale of a hot sexy artist Chris and Rayna a sexy Lawyer, one of six sisters who are all close. It's a funny story that will have you smiling, tearing up, and cheering at the same time. There are moments of raw emotion when dark secrets are revealed. Chris has patience of JOB as Rayna tries to work through her issues without letting him in at first.. So a cat and mouse game starts. He doesn't understand her standoffish ways. But he continues to shower her with love and you will just have to get this charming to book to see how it all turns out! You will not be disappointed!! KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!! well done!!

This is the first book I have read of E.L.R. Jones and it WON'T be the last.

Amazing story of an amazing family, the love and closeness even with all their individual quirks. This is Rayna Norton's story, a beautiful and successful lawyer and due to her sisters intervention, she meets her match in Christopher Leigh, a gorgeous and talented artist. The story pulls you in from the start to the finish, it had you laughing, crying and rooting for this couple. You'll have to read the story yourself to see how things turn out.

Can't wait to read the other sisters stories you see what is in store for them. I highly recommend this book-you'll love it just like I did!

An amazing story of family solidarity, with the usual family arguments of course.

With the maneuverings of her sisters, Rayna meets artist Chris Leigh. Even though his glances can set her on fire, she stubbornly doesn't want anything to do with him.

Her shenanigans while trying not to be set up, along with those of her sisters while trying to set her up will have you on the edge of your seat.

I cant wait to see who the next sister is to fall in love and who the "perfect guy" is going to be.

Everyone should read this great book.

This book has a good storyline but the various nicknames of each character are confusing at the beginning. There were so many typos, misspellings and wrong usage of words that it was disheartening as it distracted from the book. Overuse of descriptions sometimes bogged down the telling.

However, the characters are life like and interesting and the ending leaves you wanting to know more about the Norton Sisters, their lives and loves.

I absolutely loved this book. The love between the sisters was breathtaking. I admired the stability that each sister has in their life and how Chris realized the best way to win the girl was by getting help from her family. This was the first book I have read by this author but will not be the last. Can't wait to see the Norton sisters again and find out who will fall in love next!!!

This was the first time that I have read a book with interracial characters.
I found myself not realizing they were interracial because I was so involved
in the story. I can't wait for the next story in the series. I hope they are
all this enjoyable.
Ms. Jones is a very good story teller & that makes the best kind of author.

Rayna (The Norton Sisters, #1)
by E.L.R. Jones

I really can't say much about this one. It is such a good story, but so very poorly written. There are a ton of characters here, and I get that there needs to be for a series like this to continue, but I never felt like I got to know any of them. They all had names, but they also had several nicknames. It was easy to lose track.

I can't even get into the grammar, spelling, or editing. I read like a first draft. And that is too bad because this is love story that should have been told.

Yes, I tried reading this book. I really did. But I got tired of all the stuff about her sisters. I got tired of her attitude towards men and romance. I got tired of the wimpy guy who kept pursuing her even though she kept giving him the cold shoulder.

I tried reading it, but finally I got tired of wading through all the stuff and gave up on it. Maybe you would like it. I didn't.

Letting go

The cons of the book. There was a lot of grammatical errors. Did not like all the different nicknames for the sisters.

Tanya had to Lear. how to let go of the past. The plot was good, however long drawn out. I enjoyed the way Christopher went about pursuing Ryan.

Too many spelling and grammatical errors

I gave this 3 stars because it was a good story. However there were too many errors and switching among first, second and third person was not well achieved. I want to read other books in this series, but I'm very skeptical.
