Cheri will say that her head is a very crowded place, and she wishes she could write faster. She will also tell you that if you do not like glittering fairies, hot vampires with British accents, knights in shining armor, the dashing Mr. Darcy, girly-girls who wear skirts, or large amounts of snogging, then perhaps her stories are not for you.
I will not lie. There are some funny parts of the story that did make me laugh. However, I firmly believe that if you're over 14 years old. You will find is story completely annoying. I was brought in by the concept of an American female does the London and she knows martial arts and I'm thinking that I would have see a more balanced heroine who is you capable of kicking ass know you but not overly compensate so that there could be some romance but somehow this so-called karate black belt female end up being more of a whiny person then the twilight heroine. The similarities between twilight in the story are just really numerous you have a family vampires with some of them looking like the mother and father figure plus vampires are venomous. Now I know some of his love the tortured vampire that once to remain loyal to his humanity that always drove us into a good romance so this is why first started the set of books. I have tried and tried and tried, I have managed to make it through the first two and is not getting any better. In fact, the main character is getting even more and more annoyingly whiny and pouty instead of growing and then you have the so-called vampire lover who takes on more of a parental sort of role where he's no longer her boyfriend although he supposed to be, he pretty much takes all over everything and then changes her schooling changes her whole situation around and she just sit there and says okay if you like a story where the female had no background and does what she's told then you will perhaps enjoy the story me myself I find it absolutely annoying and an insult females everywhere. I am one highly disturbing aspect of the storylines me is anytime that she does try to remotely give her opinion or stand up for herself or say hey this is not okay I'm a person and what ever then it seems to be perfectly okay for the so-called vampire that loves her to just blow his magical hypnotic vampire breath, yes I said magical hypnotic vampire breath that apparently paralyzes or influences to the point of parallelization and suddenly she changes her mind and just blindly goes along with whatever is going on. Even though she realizes that he's pretty much druging her into submission. She doesn't seem to have a problem with it whatsoever and further on in a series anytime she gets a little bit upset. She starts turning him and saying breathe on me and then she just forgets about whatever she wanted. So I can set if you like a story where the woman towels and is submissive to the house for mail and does everything he says then this story is for you. Even twilights Bella had more back bone. If you can get past all of that. Then there is major continuity issues and inconsistency in the story. It jumped around randomly
I give this roughly a 3 to 3.5 star rating. The first book in this box set was captivating with the mystery around Ethan and Danielle. Book two and three for me was not as interesting. I found Ethan to be whiny when he didn't get his way. Don't get me wrong, alpha males can be sexy but Ethan's character just didn't fit the bill. Now Danielle in book two convinced me I just couldn't stand her. Her morals were great but for being a black belt she was pretty much afraid of her own shadows it seems and even worst than Ethan at whining, self doubt, etc. I finished reading the box set since I had already spent so much time on it. I did enjoy the concept of the storyline and the supporting characters. They were funny, likeable and added so much depth to the story.
A very unique vampire story. I love the analogies and the battles. The baseline to their relationship is sweet, just felt like something was missing all the time from their souls. Great series!
This series was fun adventurous. Has all the magical creatures, but was try a love story. Danime and Ethan seem to be star crossed against time and space. Theough most of this book, they are being guarded at all times.
I love vampire stories, I loved this story, especially Danielle and Ethan. Their story was wonderful. I also loved Max and Nadia. I loved how the story came together and how all the creatures came about within the story.
