I borrowed from the Library the English version of this wonderful graphic novel without knowing much about it. Gave it to my 9yro and only after he finished he came telling me: “mum, I really liked this one, I think you should read it.” (He reads so many graphic novels that I can’t keep track of, so we have an agreement that he will tell me if one is extraordinary so I can enjoy too). So I read it and it blew my mind. Such complicated genetics concepts explained on a clear and easy way so that children/teens can understand. I loved the storyline, the humour and the great illustrations.

„Na tropie DNA” to kolejna książeczka z serii Naukokomiks. I jak sama nazwa mówi, napisana jest w postaci komiksu. Ważne i dość trudne zagadnienia zostały tutaj przedstawione w łatwy sposób, dzięki czemu dzieci bardzo chętnie udadzą się w podróż tropiącą DNA.
Towarzyszyć im będzie Blu i Amber oraz ich uroczy kurczak- Pisk. W trakcie tej wyprawy dowiedzą się:
• Czym jest genetyka,
• Czym jest komórka,
• Czym jest DNA, RNA i mutacja,
• Jak wygląda podział komórki,
• Czym są białka.
W książce można znaleźć wiele ciekawych informacji, a niektóre z nich zaskoczą nawet dorosłych.
Komiks ma twardą oprawę, a w środku piękne, kolorowe ilustracje przedstawiające zarówno bohaterów, jak i budowę naszych komórek.
Napisany jest łatwym językiem. Jest nie tylko mądrą książką przydatną kiedyś w szkole, ale również ciekawą.
Jeśli lubicie poznawać naukowe zagadnienia, to bardzo polecam Naukokomiksy. Niosą one wiele przydatnej wiedzy przekazanej w prosty sposób, a do tego pięknie wyglądają na regale.

È quel che succede leggendo Sulle tracce del DNA, fumetto di divulgazione scientifica appena uscito per i tipi di Editoriale Scienza. A metà strada tra Viaggio allucinante ed Esplorando il corpo umano, il libro racconta la storia di Ambra e Blu, due giovanissime gemelle che vengono miniaturizzate e catapultate all’interno di una cellula umana. Qui, in compagnia di un pulcino di nome Pio, compiranno un viaggio entusiasmante alla scoperta del DNA e dei meccanismi della genetica.

To be clear, I was given the paperback edition of this extraordinary graphic novel (ISBN: 9781922863553, by Affirm Press), the English version of Amber & Blue and the Hunt for DNA. It's disturbingly brilliant. Almost like the perfect swatvac material for senior secondary Biology students. In fact I am recommending it to my older teen. Clear explanations are coupled with a quirky 'honey-I-shrunk-the-kids-esque' story line that supports this narrative non-fiction of sorts. Honestly, I feel completely on form with DNA now and all of its wondrous, beautiful complexities - the very stuff that makes stuff the kind stuff that it is! Awesome. And and awesome read too.

Libro stupendo, illustrazioni bellissime e scrittura divertente, coinvolgente, ma precisa dal punto di vista biologico. Davvero molto piacevole anche per chi ne conosce già i contenuti, ancora di più per chi li approccia per la prima volta. Contiene pagine di spiegazioni più concettuali per riassumere i contenuti scientifici (utilissime per la didattica).
