People see me as the asshole who deals with the hellish jobs. That’s because people fear me, which is how I like it.
Unfortunately, I also have to put up with the tiger inside me. My beast should have protected me when I was younger, but instead, all he’s ever wanted are pats and attention.
I’ve hated that tiger… until him.
Our fated mate.
Kieran
Single life as a young college professor with anxiety is trying. Add in my poor coordination and I often wonder if there’s someone in the world who will ever accept me as I am.
Even the men my parents try to set me up with don’t work out—that second date never does come.
But after one heart-stopping, breathtaking glance from a stranger, I figure that none of the men before him are meant for me.
Thankfully, after a mugging and meeting a loveable tiger, Nox is back in my life.
Lila Rose, writing as L. Rose to bring you a reverse harem paranormal romance series. You'll laugh, maybe cry, and hopefully enjoy feisty Paige and her annoyingly hot men.
A fun shifter romance with fated mates, great characters, humor, and heat.
I adore this family of adopted brothers finding their mates. Nox is so smitten with his clumsy human mate, I love it. And I cannot wait for Riker’s story!
Very enjoyable series and I liked this one even more than the first.
“The cheek kiss was sweet, babe, but I need your mouth.”
This series is nothing but ooey gooey feel-good vibes. I love it. Noxs tiger FLUFFY (yes, fluffy hehe) was so dang cute. He just wanted pets and cuddles. Kieran was a ball of anxiety, but I still liked him. His parents were awesome.
Riker doing THE MOST to piss his brothers off was my favorite part. His mate is a biker 🤭 so excited!
"I even wished I could live in his dang pocket so I would never be far from him."
I like this one more than the first one. I also felt they were less errors, but there were some things that were phrased incorrectly. But it wasn’t that bad. It was way better than the first one. The first one was all over the place when it came to the writing. On to the third book and if they’re not worried, I’m not worried even though he did just get kidnapped at the end.
3.5 rounded up Woo! I liked this one a lot more than the previous book. Though my love for the previous MCs went up a little seeing them so present in this book.
I don’t typically like OTT clumsy characters but Kieran was actually pretty cute instead of annoying. And Nox is definitely the type of MC I like to read, grumpy, enjoys being a loner and is closed off and pretty cold to anyone but his mate 🥺
Okay, when you go into a book with the triggers of kidnapping and stalking what you don't expect, it is funny and sweet as all get out of a book. Yet here we are. Nox has always been standoffish and unlike his brother's where he needs the hunt, not his animal side. It takes finding his clumsily sweet mate Kiernan to let go of his past to be able to embrace both sides. The humor of this book is just unlike anything I've ever read where I laughed out loud so many times I lost count. The pairing is so opposite yet so balanced they just work. The family dynamics are those you dream of where you can be yourself and know you will have unconditional support. It was nice to see both sides had yes intrusive yet supportive families. Again, I kind of feel bad for whomever is paired with Riker cause, oh boy, are they in for a handful. It's gonna be a blast!
I’m sad. Because I gotta wait until April 30th to read Riker story. That’s one crazy man!!!! To enjoyed getting kidnapped and where the heck the biker dude came from when Soren shut things down lol..
Like dang he came in like Superman!!
But bruh…. I’m sad. lol!
But anyways… I enjoyed Kieran and Nox story. Kieran is who Nox needed because he had a lot of anger inside of him. It’s not much I would like to say because I’m more curious about Riker a** … plus Kieran parents was cool with everything as well which I liked…
This story follows broody tiger shifter Nox, who's been stalking his fated mate, a college professor, for a while. When his mate is mugged he intervenes and takes him home. Then proceeds to turn into his tiger to avoid talking to him. Kieran is an awkward college professor who a major klutzy. Once Nox realizes that maybe his mate would be better with him then apart, tries to woo him which is a challenge since he tends to be quiet and just grunt a lot.
OMFG this story was absolutely adorable. I loved Nox and Kieran. Their personalities and quirks just worked. I like how both MC's instilled confidence in each other in areas they felt insecure. Some of my favorite scenes were Kieran with Nox's tiger. It was so sweet.
I really enjoyed this books take on what happens to the family of a human who becomes a fated mate and whose life span is extended. There were some really unique aspects to this book that made it stand out from other paranormal shifter books. This book is one hundred percent going in my comfort read pile. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I read it. I'm so excited for the next book to be released.
OM/W drama? Not really Cheating? No 3rd act breakup? HEA? Yes Cliffhanger?
SERIES RATINGS #1 - Protected by the Bear Shifter - 3.75 stars #2 - Protected by the Tiger Shifter - 4 stars 5 stars (upped on 2nd reread) #3 - Protected by the Fox Shifter - 3.5 stars
Again a fast paced, easy read, with humor and fun. L.Rose does cut through the BS and fluffy language to get to the meat, but unfortunately perhaps trims a tad too much. Not as many holes, but there was also no real conflict or challenges outside of inner angst (not too much). This made for a rather straight forward love story. More like a 3.5/5. The characters are the saving grace.
I was eager to read Nox's story for several reasons. One, he's one of those closed-off, grumpy types, and I love that. Seeing a grump fall in love? Gives me chills. Two, in the previous story, we saw how he met the professor and, to top it off, how the professor ended up unconscious in the brothers' living room, with Nox admitting to kidnapping him.
This second installment picks up right where we left off, with Kieran unconscious on the couch and Nox and Rio arguing about whether Nox can keep the professor or not. We also find out that since Nox casually met the professor and learned he was his fated mate, he's been stalking him, following his every move, and making sure he's safe. Quite a feat considering Kieran is an extreme case of clumsiness, and his life is at risk more than once because of it.
For me, this second installment had its ups and downs. On one hand, I liked the relationship between Kieran and Nox. I think they complement each other very well, with Nox initially convinced that Kieran deserves better than someone like him, and Kieran too insecure to believe that someone like Nox could be interested in him. Together, and thanks to the bond fate has given them, they discover that there's no one better for each other.
In terms of romance, therefore, it's not bad. But... that's it. In this second installment, literally, there's nothing more. Just as in the first book, we had the whole mafia debacle thanks to Rio's father, which added some extra tension to Rio and Deacon's romance, in this one, we don't have that extra depth to the story, so it felt a bit flat to me.
However, I will say that the part where Kieran discovers the existence of shifters has delighted me. Especially at the beginning, with him meeting Nox's tiger and Rio passing it off as a domestic tiger named Fluffy. Let me tell you, all that interaction with the tiger has melted my heart.
Once again, the book ends by introducing the story of the next one, and I can tell you I'm really eager to find out what will become of Riker and his biker.

This one was a little different as I read all three books in this series at the same time. So this review will be the same for all three of the books, with a mini review for each book at the bottom. They all had the same rating and spice level.
You may be asking me why I read all three at once or why I continued to read them if it was a two-star read. Well, I dont do star ratings unless I actually finish a book, so I did want to actually rate it. I dont think I would have finished them if I read each book by itself due to the fact that I got annoyed. I am glad that I finished it because while it wasn’t my favorite, I still enjoyed the underlying story. I just got bored with one book and/or wanted to read more about the other sibling more so I jumped to their book, and then I would lose interest or want to know about the other sibling, and jump to that one, and the cycle continued until I finished all three books.
I liked the premise of these books because the brothers had a bad upbringing so they were killers, but they channeled their killing need into taking down bad men/organizations. So I loved that, but I lost interest in the plot and needed to get a different POV.
I loved how each couple was vastly different in the main premise of personality:
𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐎𝐧𝐞: (Not) Mafia and (Not) mafia son. I say not because the shifter wasn’t mafia, but he gave e major mafia vibes in personality and with the fact they have so many companies. I say not for the mafia son bc he was a part of it, but he didn’t want to be (no killing type of thing)
𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐓𝐰𝐨: stalker dude to clumsy professor. I thought this couple was super cute and enjoyed them the most out of all three brothers.
𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞: Biker President and tiny psycho shifter. I loved this premise, but since one was a biker dude, the language was not one of my favorites, but I loved the tinny shifter dude because he was the most unhinged.
This book has: 🌑 MM 🌑 Insta-love/lust 🌑 Soul mate 🌑 shifter
I enjoyed reading Nox and Kieran's story. They were so sweet for each other. As a shorter book, don't expect a ton of depth to the characters, but you do get a feel for the trauma Nox went through in the foster system. My main complaint is there is no plot to this book. There's no action or drama. In book 1, there's conflict because of the case the guys are on, and then (albeit very quickly) that conflict gets resolved. In this book, we're told Kieran gets mugged, but we don't see it, and there's no underlying cause that creates more action later on in the book. So, although I was entertained, I don't feel like this was a fully developed story.
With that said, the book is written well, with only a few errors.
I'm looking forward to Riker's book, and just hope it's a bit more developed.
Oh boy, where do I start? Let’s start with saying that even though this is a standalone I recommend reading "Protected by the bear shifter" first so you can meet the characters that appear on this one.
Nox, is a really closed off tiger shifter who doesn’t really like to talk to other people, doesn’t like much his tiger form, and it’s kind of grumpy. He met his fated mate at university who turned out to be his brother’s fated mate professor but because he didn’t believe in that or more like he didn’t want to accept it he left without a word. Fast forward we get his pov when he’s saying he had stalked his mate for months and then he literally goes and kidnaps him when he saw him getting robbed, cute huh? 🫣
Kieran, is a professor at the university who it’s very clumsy and thinks of himself as an awkward person but in reality it’s just really shy. He meets Nox in his tiger form when he wakes up after being kidnapped by him but doesn’t know it was him until later on the story.
This was a really cute story, seeing their relationship blossoming into something so cute was really nice to see, also seeing Nox open up and accept his form and feelings was the highlight of the story.
And I gotta say I related a lot to both characters because I’m really shy and have social anxiety (aka me feeling like Kieran) also it’s really hard for me to talk to people and tell how I’m feeling (aka me feeling like Nox) 😂
I highly recommend reading the first book then this one. I really can’t wait for Riker’s book because I know it’s going to be my favorite!! 🧡
Tropes: -TW (stalking & kidnapping) -shifters -found family -dual pov -MM relationship -grumpy x clumsy -opposites attract -novella
Ratings: 4.5/5 ⭐️ 4/5 🌶️
Huge thank you to the author for letting me arc read this book, can’t wait for the next one!!
The twists and turns were many in this story. Kieran, you couldn’t help but laugh at a man as klutzy as he. Nox was truly the perfect mate for him. Nox on the other hand, has a tiger like no other shifter we’ve seen. To believe that his tiger was ferocious would make you a liar, but some how, he balances with Nox. Once everyone got over 5heir anxiety, their HEA was inevitable.
Now, what kind of mate did fate feel would be good for Ryker? Can’t wait to see this poor fellow.
Addiction!!! 1st I'm going to start with...When I finished this book I literally went back to re-read it, it was that good. Lila you had me at Kidnapping, then Stalker, Love, Devotion, Alpha-Possessiveness, Humor, and Fluffy. I was so drawn into this book and the characters but also the love and learning to grow and be yourself outside of your norm to let people in. Its HAF, RomCom, Intense, Heartwarming and Captivating.
This book is so damn good! This is better than the first book and that one was amazing. Nox is a badass, and Kieran is so sweet and nerdy. I love them. I love the humor too. I laughed so much. I had so many awww moments reading this. 😍 This is so well written. I love finding out more of what being a shifter entails in this book. I'm so excited for Riker's story. I can't wait to read it!
This story builds from Protected by the Bear Shifter. It can be read as a stand-alone, but would be better enjoyed as book 2 in the series. Nox's story is about learning to like what is inside of you and making peace with it. Nox's fated mate, Kieran, has had a wonderful upbringing, and his parents are a hoot. Riker is brother number 3 in the series and I. Can't. Wait. Enjoy!
Absolutely loved this! I loved getting to know Nox behind his gruff and grunting! These two were adorable and I am already ready to read it again! Also, can not wait to read Riker’s story, he’s a ball of chaos and I am here for it! The ending was just the freaking best. As always, Lila Rose is an instant by and an instant re-read! Recommended to anyone who likes fated mates, grumpy shifter, sweet romance, and steam.

This was so dang funny. Solid grumpy/sunshine with a timid tiger shifter, and a klutzy professor.
Nox was great. I did wonder how he’d come across but there was a lot of humour under his dark armour. Kieran was a sweetheart who just wanted to be loved but couldn’t find anybody. Also his parents remind me of the parents from the Transformers movie- absolutely hilarious and they steal the show.
Oh my goodness, I can't handle to cuteness! This story was perfect and I loved Kierans clumsiness and that he keeps Nox on his toes. The story flowed so well it took me no time to devour it. Now I have to wait a whole month for Rikers story. I don't know if I'll survive the wait. Definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves MM paranormal romance.
Nox has found his mate and has been stalking him for months, it's Rio's old professor, Kieran. Nox has his job cut out for him trying to keep Kieran safe from himself, exposing shifters to his human mate and finally dealing with the issues with his tiger in this funny and sweet read.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the first book in the series solely because of Riker. I wanted to give this one a chance because I liked Nox’s character from book 1. However, again, Riker was an obnoxiously distracting character who really took away any charm from the story.
This is the second in the series, it’s Nox meeting Kieran, Nox saves Kieran after a mugging (which is in the last book) and goes through the awkward way of trying to date him without being very upfront. I feel like if he was upfront and more straightforward it might have gone better in the beginning. Fluffy comes out, and Kierans parents are awesome.
I really liked this book! Nox is such a sweetheart when it comes to his mate, even though he struggles with how to approach him. There’s something so endearing about a strong, powerful shifter who turns into a bit of a mess when it comes to love. Kieran, on the other hand, is great at accepting Nox for who he is—both as a man and as a tiger. Their dynamic felt natural and easy, which made their relationship fun to read.
The story had a nice balance of action, romance, and just the right amount of shifter world-building. I liked how their bond developed, especially with Nox being so unsure of himself at times. It was refreshing to see a shifter who isn’t just alpha confidence all the time but still fiercely protective when it matters.
Kieran was a great match for him—understanding, patient, and totally willing to embrace the connection they share. The romance had its sweet and steamy moments, and I enjoyed how their relationship grew throughout the book.
Overall, this was a fun, easy read with a lovable tiger shifter, a great romance, and just the right amount of tension to keep things interesting. Definitely worth checking out!
