The Broken Spell series continues with an elemental power-up and a royal mission that flies sideways fast! A magnificent announcement A mysterious call A magical promise
It’s been three months since Mallevia croaked and Brave is grumpy. True’s taken off, he has no friends and his mom refuses to answer important questions. What’s worse, his elements are misbehaving. Being a prince sucks! So when a shock announcement hurls him back into the spotlight and strange threats arise, he’s forced to call on new friends for help. True is learning to live with wings and a tail and loves the freedom to fly, but her family doesn’t approve. Desperate to escape their selfish plans, she accepts the royal court’s offer, only to discover an impossible task clouded in secrets. How will she survive the countless dangers of the unknown?Elsewhere, the country rebuilds in the wake of the fake queen’s dark deeds, and in a hidden corner something nameless and loathsome awakens. 🫶Happy reading, and thank you for being part of this magical journey!
I loved it!! I was consistently hooked on what each character's story would lead them to next and I could not put it down. Brave's storyline of trying to fit in the royal family was greatly entertaining relatable for young audiences. True's storyline was full of adventure and figuring out more about her changling form, keeping me turning each page with excitement. I cannot wait to find out more about Avarlonia's age-old secrets in the next books! A fantastic book for young readers who love fantasy!! 🌳🌀🔥💧✨
Loved this book. It is a sequel to The Dangers of Being Brave and True. I enjoyed the world and all of the characters and I can't wait to read more. I felt fully submersed in the world of Arvalonia and I didn't want to finish the book and have to leave. I will be awaiting book 3!
Was so excited to jump straight into this book after LOVING the first one. And again it is a true YA, no sneaky smut. This one changes pace a bit, and honestly it works so well. It makes sense, our story continues but we lose a little bit of the urgency. We have new characters joining the story, and our existing characters are evolving. I adore the relationships that Brave is building with his friends, other young people who appreciate him and listen to him. Including our girl True, even though their paths are leading them in different directions. Speaking of True, her family …. Well honestly they SUCK. That is all. And in the themes of families, gosh they are complicated things. But I cannot help but be miffed at a certain family for their complete lack of even TRYING to understand. Ok rant over! Haha Very excited for the next book!
This is the second book in the series. I love that the author gave us a review of the first book right at the beginning, this helped me understand some of what was happening in the series. This book reminds me of a cross between Harry Potter and Airbender. It's a good series and I would probably let my kids read this series who are teens.
Mysterious and foreboding, the second installment lurks with impeding danger. It’s a delight to see Brave and True finding their footing and growing as individuals while learning more about the world with new allies. I have the third book and ready for more!
Great YA fantasy book. Building on the world of Brave and True, I love how their paths diverge but their stories grow. This seems more about the personal journeys that book one, which is clearly setting the scenes for something big. Love it.
