Awkward Accommodations: Sex & Violence

A Hollywood movie star's teenage daughter was abducted by a deranged man and taken across state lines to Colorado. While negotiating with some mercenary-assassins to rescue her, the mom got maneuvered into agreeing to a special bonus, a sexual one. She is single, has been sexually inactive for years, and has asked to be let out of the added arrangement. The response she got was a death threat for non-compliance.

A slightly younger couple, two of the mercenary-assassins, have invited themselves to dinner to collect on the mother's promised payment. They reveal that the evening must be a game of seduction, her seducing them. It will be a night of awkward accommodations.

Right after the recovery, the daughter spent several days bonding in a remote Colorado cabin with those who had saved her. She has become determined to join them in an assassination, and persuades them to include her when a New York mobster calls with a hit contract.


They were a younger couple. The sexual tension, combined with Joanna's feeling of intimidation, heightened her senses. She didn't have any interest in having sex. Or did she? He was a ruggedly handsome man, she an alluring young woman, and Jo had always been bi-curious. Under normal circumstances, she would never be in a situation like this. These were not normal circumstances.

“Tell me how it feels parading around nude in your living room, in front of fully-clothed, first-time dinner guests.”
“It feels awkward, an awkward accommodation. I'm feeling very self-conscious.”

“I've always been bi-curious,” admitted Joanna.
“I've always wanted to convert a straight girl, so this is our lucky night,” responded Renée.

“I bought a box of prophylactics the other day, Renée. May I go get them?”
“Oh no, honey. Danny doesn't like to use those things, and we don't see you as a disease risk to us, so you'll just have to take your chances tonight. No contraceptives of any kind allowed. That will make the experience more fun for me, more pleasurable for Danny and more intense for you. That isn't going to be a problem, is it?”

Jessie could see that both were standing together on the bench by the railing. When Ashley glanced back nervously, Jessie gave her the nod and they watched as Johnny went over the edge screaming. It was a twenty story drop.

Jessie waved her gun at the frightened group. “I want to see a pile of clothes at my feet, right now. Everybody strip!” She watched with interest as young Ashley disrobed. She was petite, with short dark hair and a fair complexion.

“Get up on the railing, sweetie pie.”
“But I'm not one of them; I've done everything any of you asked of me. Please don't make me do this,” she pleaded. “I even killed for you.”
….Her legs shook nervously as they helped her up and as she delicately balanced herself.
“She does have a nice ass,” observed Danny.
“And she gives excellent head,” added Jessie.
Renée placed each of her palms on each of the young woman's bare butt cheeks.
“All I have to do is give you a gentle nudge, Ashley. If I don't, will you swear to always obey each of us without question?”
“Yes, yes, of course! I swear I will always totally obey each of you. Your wishes will be my commands.”
“It is a nice ass, Danny. Come over here and feel it.”
He did. “You're right. She might be a keeper.”

About the author

Many of the prior years of my life were spent working at normal endeavors which had nothing to do with creative writing. Then one night I dreamt I was on a retreat walking through the fall-colored foothills of New England celebrating the publication of my first novel. I awoke with a feeling of such fulfillment that I realized it was time to begin my literary journey.

I put pen to paper and started on my first story About Sam, the tale of a young housewife with children who was also a secret agent. The opening rough draft included conflict, adventure and romance, but I needed help. I ventured off to a local club called Sarasota Authors Connection.

There I met Leah Dallaire, an editor whose continued guidance proved invaluable. At subsequent club meetings I had the good fortune of listening to speeches by the creators of Single White Female (the movie had Bridget Fonda in it) and I Know what You Did Last Summer (the one with Jennifer Love-Hewitt) and many other fine writers. Later on my literary journey, I had the pleasure of crossing paths with best-selling author Richard North Patterson who generously provided additional assistance, and I subsequently wrote him in as the bomber pilot in Back to World War II.

My first stories were an experiment in genres. I dabbled in mystery, fantasy, satire, corporate intrigue, science fiction, romance, thriller, and action-adventure. The one thing they all had in common was strong-willed women, so I consolidated them into a collection called Willful Women, followed later by Willful Women II.

The genre experiment revealed that action-adventure was the most fun to create, so I began the Willful Women Assassins Series, later assembling these stories into the novel Assassin Affairs. After finishing that project, the characters made an unplanned reappearance in The Diva Den, so I added that as an encore chapter, calling the revision Assassin Affairs – Encore Edition. All my titles are available on the Kindle.

I had always rewritten my stories to remove segments in which the sex had gotten explicit (though not gross), but with Assassin Affairs – Encore Edition I determined it was time to leave them in. Many of my past coworkers were gay, lesbian or bisexual, so I included such characters in the book, spicing it up with elements of submission and domination. If you find such things offensive, Assassin Affairs – Encore Edition is not for you. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy it. Rock on.
