I received an advanced reading copy, ARC of Breathe into Me by Nikki Drost for an honest review. If you enjoy reading Paranormal Romance novels then it’s time to curl up with a blanket, hot drink and a copy of Breathe into Me by Nikki Drost. There really is no better place to be. Book one of The Enforcer series. Imagine if you will a world where angels and immortal shifters are real. Meet Enforcer Adam Stone, wolf shape shifter, even as a child he did not really understand why he was chosen. All he wanted was to be a normal human being like his mother. He was branded on his chest with the mark of the Archangel Raphael and given power to manipulate the air. Every time he traces his fingers on his mark he is reminded of the Archangel's words, “Your gift is not a curse my boy, it’s an opportunity to protect the innocent, to protect those you love. One day you will know what it means to love another and then and only then will you understand your gift.” Meet Andrea Harris, Andy for short, Adam falls deeply in love with her. Will their Love last when she finds out the truth about Adam and the Enforcers? Are they Soul Mates? Breathe into Me is filled with plenty of romance, suspense and action. The first of a provocative, gripping, action packed paranormal series. This is really a thrilling read.

I got to 60% through the book and quit out of frustration. The story was good, and I would liked to have read to the end, but the grammar and punctuation errors drove me crazy.

I've never seen such poor use of commas. Example: "I can't help, but feel a pang of jealousy." No comma is needed here. Another example: My name is, Adam Stone." No comma needed here. There are lots of these types of comma inserts.

The author doesn't seem to know how to correctly use the following:
"than" and "then"
"their" and "they're"
"woman" and women"
"were" and "we're"
"to" and "too"
"were" and "where"
"quite" and "quiet"

And there are lots more. I don't understand how this book received four and five-star reviews.

I received an arc copy of this book for an honest review. I honestly couldn't put it down. It pulled me in right from the beginning. I love how detailed it is. Each chapter you read leaves you wanting more! I also loved that the story was told from different characters perspectives so you get to really know each of them, what they are thinking and feeling. It has so many different elements like romance, drama and suspense. I enjoyed learning about the different characters and taking in the love story of Adam and Andy. I can't wait to find out what happens next!!(less)

I'm not a big reader of this genre, but the plot line and strong characters made me want to know more. I loved the tight relationships between the pack men and there was so much more to this book than erotica.

Ok I'm going to start by saying I hate writing mean reviews, but sometimes you just have to be honest. I wanted to like this book, the basic concept was well thought out and interesting, unfortunately that's where the good of this book stopped. A part of me wants to know if Drost is actually literate. This book was so riddled with grammar and spelling mistakes it was actually painful to read. Drost doesn't seem to know the basics of writing, and I'm sorry, I don't care how good the story is, you need to be able to write for your book to be considered literature. She doesn't seem to know the difference between basic words like 'to' and 'too' or how to use a comma, and she also has no understanding of tenses. Really!? That's basic 1st grade English.

I really battled to get through this book but I liked the idea behind the shifter world and wanted to see if it went anywhere. The sad truth is that as the story progressed, even that element wasn't enough to keep me interested. I disliked Andy more and more as the story went on, she's way to stupid and annoying for my liking. The men were a little more interesting but nothing special. I also hated that she had like 3 random chapters from James' POV? What was that? It made no sense and the pathetic thing is that they were the only chapters worth reading (yet still riddled with mistakes).

All in all, this book just wasn't for me. I think if Drost got herself a good ghostwriter, someone to take her story and make it readable, then her books might be worth picking up. As it stands, I wouldn't pick up another one of her books, free or not.

Breathe Into Me

by Nikki Drost

Adam Stone is a wolf shape shifter and and enforcer, returning to Westhaven Massachusetts he meets Andy Harris and is instantly attracted to her when it hits him that she is his mate. His life begins to revolve around her and never wants to be apart! Andy is so drawn towards Adam but doesn't quite understand why nor does she question it. Will she still feel the same when she finds out about his secret...

The pov switched between Adam, Andy & Jamie but each time it switched it confused me and would take me a while to realise who's pov it was in.

The story started off really good and I was enjoying it but as the story continued I found that I was struggling with it. It is not a badly written book and it has a really good storyline. I just found that it was missing the chemistry between myself and the characters. Don't get me wrong the characters are great and I did not hate it, its just not for me.

There is an intense love story and plenty of hot sex and lots of sexy shape shifters!

I am an ever hopeful romantic and this book is good for me. I am into the Paranormal, this love story between a sexy wolf and his human mate were good to me. Adam and his brothers were players of the first order and had no shame with it. Andy was a nurse who had seen heartache galore. These two meet in a local watering hole and it was love at first sight. Adam's brother(Jaime) is a hot head for a lot of reasons..oh yeah. Linc is oh so sweet. I love his brother Landon as well.

Adam is there to further his purpose as an Enforcer but finding his life mate may cause him to be abit distracted. I loved this 1st book and the characters. Kelsey (Andy's bestie) and Jamie (Adam's bestie) are good for a few laughs and I hope their story is next.

Many may think a poetry quoting wolf is soft, but Adam is far from that. I'd like to think in the war between good and evil, we have people like this group fighting for what is right.

First read by this author, but I can't wait for the next in this series...

Where do I start?!? I enjoyed this book so much that I know I'll be rereading it more than once. In fact I am currently rereading it right now because it is so richly detailed that I want to read it again while it is fairly fresh in my mind so I can pick up on things that I may have missed the first time through.

Why did I miss things the first time you ask? Well, I kinda, sorta, ummmmm. . . stayed up ALL night to read the darn thing!! It was pretty funny actually, I kept nodding off, the kindle would fall over onto my chest and it would wake me up so I could keep reading. lol

The very first time I tried reading it, I had to stop after just a couple chapters because I had to get an author's 'advance reader copy' read and reviewed with very short notice. Then a couple other things came up and I didn't want to start this again until I knew I could finish it. It ended up being so good that I could not put it down.

They are Heaven and Hell all wrapped up in one. Take your pick cause you have four flavors to choose from Earth, Wind, Fire & Water They give these element a whole new meaning and they give so much more too.

The Enforcers are a force to be reckoned with in a fight and in love.

The action and passion in this story had me on edge and panting all the way to the end. I could not put it down.

This is a fantastic story and I hope to be reading more Enforcer stories.

I will definitely be reading this book again.

OMG!!! Just WOW!!!

I have nothing bad to say about this novel!!! The way this author used her imagination to bring what most of us to believe as biblical truth and what some people think is entirely fictional is AMAZING!!! If you do not read this you are(sorry to insult anyone) stupid! This is one novel I truly believe everyone should read no matter what genre you prefer because this story has it all!!!! I want to truly thank this author for blowing my mind and adding excitement to my life for a few hours when I needed it more than I realized!

Adam Stone is an "enforcer" - wolf shape shifter. He and his "brothers" have a mission to protect - they were chosen by Archangels and have powers other than shapeshifting. Adam can't believe what happens when he meets Andy (Andrea) - he never thought as an enforcer that he would find his "mate". Come join the journey of Adam and Andy as they overcome obstacles in their way.

This is a definite must read by Nikki Drost.

I think I'm going to have to DNF this, at least for now.

It's difficult to put into words but something in this just doesn't work, and I can't put my finger on exactly what that something is. I don't particularly like any of the characters, again I don't know why I just don't take a shine to any of them.

I find Adam and Andy's relationship to be extremely boring, from their extremely ordinarily first meeting to their dull and repetitive sex. (Fair enough it's still pretty early on that I have dnf'd so that could improve for all I know)
Individually they're not very exciting either.

I'm not a fan of other relationships being focused on in a book, the only romance I want to be reading about is from the 2 main characters, side characters relationships can take a back seat as far as I'm concerned, I don't care for Jamie/ James' POV being included and I don't really care for him or his attitude much either, and that speaks volumes because I usually like the unaffectionate damaged male characters.

The writing being altered to portray the characters accents is super off putting, I don't mind if it's a word here or there but changing every word seriously interrupts the flow, when reading a book written in my native language I shouldn't have to struggle to understand the dialogue.

I feel bad as I have marked this down a star simply because I am cross that this series has not continued. I know that there is a second book but after all the character development and world setting that Nikki Drost created I am gutted that I won't get to see where she clearly wanted to take this series.

This is a great tale with two interesting leads and a host of brilliant supporting characters.

I am in two minds as to whether to read the 2nd book as I have a feeling it may make me grumpy for the same reason I mention above

Error after error

So many simple spelling errors! The constant misuse of too, to, your, you're is basic English. I understand proof readers cost money to edit. Have 2 friends read it and correct it for you! Or a College English student. At least feedback. Hell, I'd do it for free. GAHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'm so frustrated. This will be the first time I request a refund. ****I spoke to the editor. She made the corrections but it obviously uploaded. Huge mistake. Read an excerpt of the 2nd book, not as many errors but a whole page was repeated. 😣😣

Meh 2.5 stars

This book was ok, but I got kind of annoyed at times. First of all, there was way too much detail in Jamie's a secondary character, POV. About 10% of the book, including a descriptive sex scene, and I'm still not quite sure why it was there. We get no resolution, or even a lead in for the next book. The chapters contained things that weren't, in my opinion, necessary to the story. It was things, that I felt, would be better for his own book. Another annoying thing was actually writing out Finn's Irish, Alex's Russian, and Keith's Bostonian accents. It made it hard to follow these character's dialogue. Which brings me to another point. There was plenty of conflict in this story without bringing in Andy's ex. All he did was cause trouble, and we don't get any sort of closure or resolution this this plot line.
As for the main characters, Andy and Adam, i find them annoying. There was nothing wrong with most of their actions, but the love between them was saccharine sweet. Adam is spouting off love poems, sending roses, and singing songs mixed between butt kicking. He acts in a totally gruesome way, and then is crying and saying I love you. Many times through the book, i thought he was too sensitive and acting like a pansy with all his crying and declarations.

Overall, I didn't really care for this book. There was too much going on, and I got confused with all of the players and events. I didn't really like the characters, and this book needed some editing.

This book was super close to being a 5 star read. I haven't read many paranormal books, none with shape shifters, so I was a little hesitant. The story ended up being great! There was more to it than just the romance, which was fantastic in itself. The steamy scenes were really good with plenty of detail. The family of wolves meshed well. It reminded me of Twilight, but better. The set of supernatural powers based on forces of nature was a creative twist. The coyotes vs wolves battle scenes were intense! That, combined with the romance kept the pages turning.

There were a few factors that brought the book's rating down. One, I thought the insta-love was a stretch. They may be meant to be together, but I prefer a little more resistance shown. Two, I had a hard time telling who's point of view the story was being told from. There was more than just the two main characters, which I had a hard time separating as it was. Lastly, the grammar was absolutely horrifying. Proofreading is not that hard to do, but really, an author making so many mistakes like those is unbelievable.

If you're able to overlook the negatives, it's a really great story with many twists!

This book is very much paranormal. It has everything from wolves, demons, vampires, Kodiak Bears, cougars, Archangels, and the Four Horsemen to name most of the characters (may have forgotten a few). I am telling you this because I think it would be wrong to go into this book thinking it is just about wolves or Archangels. You will have to keep yourself straight on what role which Angel plays in the world to understand of the book. Plus each character aren't just bystanders. There is a reason the character was brought up in the first place. It has suspense and very heated adult content. Due to that adult content it is recommended for 18 and over.

The story line is good but there are times that some stuff could be more detailed and others not as detailed. Is it one that I couldn't put down? No. But it was still an alright story. For those of you who are grammar police, you may have some issues with this book. There are times the wrong word is in the wrong spot, an extra word is in (ex I and me both beside each other), or the wrong version of a word (to instead too). Give the book a chance. I did enjoy it. I will see how the next book in the series goes.

Romance, action, & drama

I really enjoyed this book. Not just a romance, but lots of action too. The enforcers are 4 hunky werewolves that also have their own archangel who has branded them and given them special powers they slap have the chance to find their one true mate, but none of them are matted yet. They are fighting against a bad force of shifters who kill humans and try to wreak havoc in general. They have gone home after traveling all over to fight where they have been needed and it is at home that Adam finds his true mate. Of course there's all the sex that goes with that as well. The story doesn't end with the romance however, the author goes on to build the suspense with the fight against the bad guys as they kill Adam (did I say he has an archangel as his mentor?) and kidnap his mate and her friend. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat, so don't start it before you go to bed or you just might not get any sleep! I have to look for the next book.

I really wanted to enjoy this book and there was a lot of parts I did enjoy while reading it. However, there was an unfortunately large amount of grammatical errors which I almost stopped reading altogether because of them, but I kept with it because the storyline was interesting.

Amazingly, I was able to finish this book in one day. It was okay hence my two star rating; the sexual parts were obviously good and it did have a decent plot but I found there wasn't much character development and there were some things that were included in this book that I personally felt were not needed.

This is Ms Drost's debut novel and as such is a good effort.

This wasn't a bad story, in fact I think it's going to be a reasonably good PNR series. BUT ... there were far too many grammatical errors and this generally ruins a novel for me. However, this time, I made some allowances it being the Author's debut work.

I know it's hard to eliminate "every" error via editing but this book really had far too many to make it a comfortable read for me.

Like I said though, it was a pretty good story and it probably would have got a higher rating if the editing was improved.

Pretty good paranormal read.

this was a good time passer. it incorporates all paranormal beings -shifters, vampires, witches, angels, etc. the timeline the book spans is kind of short but it was action packed. a few things that knocked the star count down were the typos and punctuation errors. things like using were instead of where etc. also it changes pov several times with no indication which character is speaking so you have to figure it out.

Love this series. It's full of love, family, action, humor sexy shifters, angels, vampires, magic and more. It's a fun, fast paced, well written thrill to read. The only thing I can find to say about the books that I don't like would be the covers. Really not liking those. But the series is awesome, I highly recommend this series !!!

mmmazing! fast paced, lots of action so I didn't get bored once! not 1 annoying character, however whoever was responsible for editing/spellcheck/grammar should either be fired or voluntary give their paycheck back or change professions. ijs
