Bird, a lethal US operative sent to target a Ugandan warlord, is caught in a trap. Not only has he failed to assassinate the militia leader but he’s been injected with a drug cocktail designed to make him of ultimate use to his target — and Bird has merely hours to find a solution before its effects are irreversible.

Sadly underwhelming. When the author and the publisher can't be bothered to check for continuity errors in such a slim volume, it does no favors to anyone. The quality of writing is surprisingly variable, from pretty solid to barely passable, too. The plot itself makes less sense than it should (and I wanted it to make sense, too!). I blame Ludlum.
