"We are often told that love is a universal language, yet we forget that feeling unloved is just as well known."

Joey Kidney is a widely celebrated creator, author, mental health advocate and entrepreneur. Joey shares his experiences of life as he leaves his early twenties and heads towards adulthood.

The book's writing style is very homely and friendly. The book hits home and it feels so much like a podcast or a conversational video, just like his online content. The book is full of motivational and positive talk, it's an Easy read, with the simplest choice of words, and the content is relatable to the masses. The book is comforting, to say the least. I recently came across a video online that said that influencers are turning to authors and the publishing market is already being taken over by the content creators, this book is no exception, it's bound to become a phenomenon.

Joey shares moments from his life and the little lessons from each moment, and presents all his thoughts in the most relatable way possible. The writing is easy-going, super-friendly, conversational and crisp. The author talks about mindfulness, guidance, connection with the self, and all the while slowing down, but hurrying up to put ourselves first. The book features little essays on certain themes like overcoming a breakup, love and various stages of relationships, overthinking, birthdays, pets, friendships and our relationship with ourselves, along with poetry from the author, backed with simple illustrations. It's a light-hearted read that's certainly going to add a little positivity and can be picked up again every now and then. It's a short book that I finished in one sitting, but there's no hurry while reading it, after-all slowing down is the best way to speed up.

The author of this book grew up in an environment where it was considered "less of a man" to be expressive! A man would be labeled as "sensitive" & humiliated to cry, laugh & even feel! And because of these reasons he suffered anxiety, depression, ADHD & many other problems. He struggled to fit in the world and the worst part was that he never really had anyone to talk to. He felt that nobody can actually understand what he's going through or how he feel. Also he realized that most people don't really care. So like most people in such a situation he too felt unheard and that's why he started writing this book. He documented everything that happened in his life and what emotions he felt during those experiences and how he dealt with them or what he learnt from them.

It consists of short chapters and poems which cover various topics that one faces in their early adulthood like mental illnesses, hookups & breakups, confusing thoughts, feeling alone unheard or lost, etc.

It is not a typical self help book that provides tips, tricks & advices to deal with life's problems or mental health issues. It's sole aim is to provide you comfort & calm & make you feel that you are not the only person going through this. There's someone out there just like you. You are not alone.

This book doesn't ask you to hustle & bustle but tells you to take your time while keeping in mind that you need to grow & achieve a better life. It asks you to be your best and handle your problems positively without harming your inner well-being.

This book is short & easy to read and I found some inspiring quotes & lines that I needed to hear but sadly I found this book to be a one time read. The writing wasn't strong. I could not relate to most of the stories. Plus like I mentioned earlier you don't really get any solid advice here!

But if you're a teenager or a young adult or a beginner reader who do not want a heavy lecture or clichéd pieces of advices on how to live life or how to deal with your problems then you may try this book.

TAKE YOUR TIME & HURRY UP- Means that you can spend as much time as you need in doing something, or that you should slow down. Don't rush. People use this expression to let someone politely know that there is no need to hurry.

With the apt title itself the author gently encourages his audience to find comfort, mindfulness, guidance and connection. A clear theme is woven through each passage: a reminder to slow down. After all, what’s the rush.

The font and the colour of the book cover is amazing and that works as a sign of indication of the contents of the book. In less than 200 pages the author engages the readers with his lucid writing style along with short and crisp poetry on Love, life and loss.

Author of this book JOEY KIDNEY is a social media star who uses his self-titled channels to inspire others to find their own happiness in their everyday lives.

Book dedications is a usual process carried out during the publishing of a book and they are about expressing gratitude. Authors often include a dedication to acknowledge the person or people who inspired the book or to thank someone who supported them during the writing process. Some authors dedicate a book to the memory of a loved one or to a cause or idea.. Some authors will dedicate a book to their readers or to an author who inspired them, even if that author is no longer around.

But here in this book, the author has left the page blank and asked the readers to dedicate it to someone who will be benefitted from the book. This is a unique gesture which will make the author stand out as he extends his support through this book for all those who are in the transition period of teens to adult.

The author has dealt with almost all the issues which the Young adults may experience, like a great deal of shame, problems with self-esteem, withdrawing from social connections, an unwillingness to try at anything (work, school, etc.), depression, anxiety, substance use, and even total isolation.

The flow of the book is smooth and it is truly designed in sync with the target readers. The book in a friendly way assists the readers like an anchor to navigate their sail into adulthood. A person may be experiencing great difficulty (disorganization, denial, anxiety, panic attacks, etc.) and may not seem to be able to make a healthy transition to adulthood. This is usually because they have not been able to develop the necessary emotional, socio-emotional and psychological tools. At this juncture, continuing the habit of reading, widely, into their teenage years helps teens to: deal with their increasingly complex world and understand some of the adult issues they will have to grapple with. Know they are not alone — others may be thinking and feeling the way they do.

Many people believe that adolescence is a difficult time in a child's development. But, this is not necessarily true. Many teenagers pass through their adolescent years smoothly and victoriously, passing into adulthood relatively unscathed. Still, there are many steps you can take to help your teenager and yourself make a seamless transition.

One will be to definitely read this book.

Take Your Time & Hurry Up is a non-fiction book that targets youngsters and early adulthood. In this book, readers will explore various topics, including Love, overthinking, finding a lover, sadness, missing someone, resolutions, etc.

The title might seem vague to many readers until they dive into the book. It reflects the idea of not comparing your journey with someone else's and taking your sweet time to grab what belongs to you. The author insists, "You are where you are supposed to be in the moment." It will allow readers to introspect their journey and understand how far they have come.

Apart from other self-help books, this book navigates readers through various problems they face in their twenties and early adulthood, like the sense of existential crisis, making readers feel confused and clueless about the next step in their lives. In this book, readers would come across topics that will enlighten their minds and thought processes to steer through life.

This book is a great escape but also a much needed reflective tool. Joey Kidney offers the space for you to read endlessly about his own journey in life as a means to better process your free floating thoughts surrounding societal norms of go, go, go, and better, better, better. There is no rush. “You are exactly where you need to be. You are strong. You are capable. You are the most perfect you.”

Joey does a great job of letting us inside his head, but most of the advice feels incredibly basic. But the book reads like page after page of unfiltered trauma dumping, without much reflection for him or for the reader.
