She was always supposed to be mine…until my younger brother got to her first. Now, I’ll do everything I can to make her mine.
Adrian
I’ve always been the one in control, and I excel at everything I do.
Academics.
Hockey.
Fucking.
I don’t even have to try to be the best, and my little brother hates me for it. I can’t even blame him. From the moment he was born, Donovan has always lived in my shadow.
I’m content to ignore him… until he does the unforgivable: he starts dating Sienna Roberts.
Sienna is mine, she just doesn’t know it yet. No one does. No one except Donovan, that is.
I keep my emotions close to the chest.
They call me stoic.
Indifferent.
Cold.
Take your pick.
I don’t DO emotions.
Sienna is my only exception.
She has this infuriating way of tearing down my carefully constructed walls and making me feel simply by calling me out… even if the slight tremor in her voice tells me she’s still intimidated by me.
Donovan knows I crave her… knows Sienna is my only weakness and the only tool he could ever use to make me pay for the impossible standards placed on him just because he’s my brother.
It’s the only reason the passive-aggressive little shit would risk crossing me by going after her.
For him, it’s not about Sienna. He doesn’t want her. He never did.
But hurting me? That’s what he really wants. He’d do anything to make me suffer.
He’s using Sienna as a pawn, and she’s too in love with him to realize it.
But me? I’ve had enough.
I’m done waiting around.
Sienna has always been mine. And if she can’t realize it, I’ll make her.
Sienna
I’ve always been in love with Donovan Windsor. He has that tall, dark, and handsome thing down to a T. In high school, he was always the cool guy.
Honestly, I didn’t think he even knew I existed. For some reason, during the summer between high school graduation and college, he asked me out.
I still can’t believe it, even three months later.
I still have to pinch myself.
But now that we’re in college, we’re living with his older brother, Adrian.
And the thing about Adrian is, he makes me feel… unsettled. He’s intense, dark, and commanding - everything I shouldn't want when I’m already dating my Mr. Right.
I can’t explain it, but it’s almost like I’m in danger when Adrian’s dark, piercing gaze falls on me. Like he sees through me straight to my core.
I should be terrified.
But it just pulls me towards him in a way I don’t understand.
Like a moth to a flame.
Adrian is the kind of wildfire that doesn’t leave a trace after he consumes you.
I should be happy with Donovan. Donovan has always been my dream guy.
And yet, I can’t help but fantasize about what it might be like to dance in Adrian’s flames.
Blades & Bones is a stand-alone revenge dark hockey romance featuring a tortured Alpha hockey player deadset on possessing his little brother's girlfriend and the unassuming heroine who pines for him without understanding the consequences. It has a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhanger.
Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.
I don't even know where to start with this review. I'm just going to dump my all over the place thoughts here:
Attention, possible spoilers!!!
* First, I'm so OVER the manhoho H / inexperienced, innocent, unsatisfied h, until she's with him; I'M DONE * The scene with the OW (see the end of the review) - JUST NO * His brother - ok, he was a good villain (of course he was the villain) until the end when I just couldn't understand his actions * The "tragedy" at the end ... that was such a soap opera type of scene * He becomes very protective and obsessed, etc, with her once he accepts his feelings, but I don't know, the beginning of the book just tainted their relationship 💔 * She was a people pleaser, but she somehow grew a spine by the end of the book and tried to hold herself up in front of her ex; too little too late, plus he was a psycho, so of course things didn't end well * They never used protection and never discussed it! Luckily, he wore a condom with the OW 🤦♀️ * I picked the book on Booksprout where it's stated that "This is book 2 in the series. You do not need to read book 1 in order to understand book 2, " but I was lost in some of the details/other mentioned relationships of his teammates; I feel like I missed some information and maybe it was in the first book? 🤷♀️ * He was 13 when they lost their parents and his little brother 10, but it's stated that he had to be responsible and take care of him since then?? he was 13!! 🤔 * I just couldn't understand why his brother was such a jealous, psycho, narcissistic person ... they both needed years of therapy instead of having such a strange and hateful relationship * The book needs a new round of good editing (mobile networks do not have a dial tone 🤨!!)
I will not try the first book and not continue with this series. Couldn't care less about his colleagues, which I assume will be heroes in other books in this series. Well, maybe an exception is that one guy that was reading while they were at the fair. He might be interesting, but not enough to try another book 😂😂.
. . . . .
The scene where she watches him with the OW??? Gross! Yeah, they weren't together, and she was still with his brother, but it's not the first time when I read about this plot device and I'm SO OVER THIS: him not understanding his feelings, him wanting to just let out some steam (just go to the gym, go run, whatever, instead), and of course choosing to pick up some no name woman (classy), and fuck her while he imagines the heroine (wonderful); what's funny here is that she caught them and well, she wanted to be in the OW's place! 😂😭😭. I should have DNF right then and there, but I wanted to continue because of curiosity. Of course, he only starts feeling something and finishes after he locks eyes with the FMC. Charming!

The only good thing I can say about it is that it was only almost as bad as the first book.
The biggest problem with this series is the fact that author fails to create an emotional connection, relying solely on physical one. That’s not enough to have a romance book. It just becomes a soft porn script.
That’s not the only issue though. Another big problem is the fact that the characters are incredibly unlikable. Mostly because they’re stupid to the point it’s unbearable.
In this particular scenario, we have Sienna, who is dumb, naive and made being a pushover her entire personality. I don’t actually know anything about her personality, other than the fact that she’s in a relationship with a dude who doesn’t give a shit about her and she constantly apologizes to him for that. Speaking of which - the mfc keeps trying to convince herself that she loves the dude, but they have nothing in common, there’s absolutely no connection. It simply doesn’t have a leg to stand on and I couldn’t understand why she even wanted to be with him. She was getting nothing from him. Nothing.
Then we have Adrian, who apparently was always into her, but didn’t do anything about it until she started dating his little brother. His excuse? She was always into his brother, so he felt like he had no shot. It would make sense, except the fact that he started pursuing her once she was actually in a relationship with said brother. Huh? Make it make sense.
We basically get a whole book of those one-dimensional characters thinking about wanting each other. That’s it. Nothing else is happening. Until they get together and keep going at it for a few chapter.
There’s barely any substance to the story, any plot. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the tragedy thingy towards the end was an epitome of stupidity.
I had no idea you could run into a burning building, decide you have time to only save one person, grab that person, worry whether they’re still alive, but still stand there and have a nice little chat with another victim of a fire who, for some reason, cannot help themselves, yet is in a good enough condition for that heart to heart convo. Seriously? How on Earth did the author write that scene and not see the ridiculousness of it?!
I officially developed major trust issues, when it comes to Goodreads ratings.
I liked this but I was a little confused about Levi and Minka but that's my fault because I haven't read their book. everything could have been resolved if they had just talked to each other.
i got the biggest ick at the scene where she watches him with a another woman.. I mean why are you staring at his room when you already hear that he’s with someone in there..
💌- thank you to the author for sending me this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
So the FMC is in a relationship with the MMC's brother who obviously doesn't give a fuck about her and screws up wherever he can, but she still excuses his actions every single time and tries to convince herself they love each other. Like what? And as if that wasn't enough, the MMC comes into the picture, claiming he's better for her and of course wanted her since forever but decided to not pursue her before because she was head over heels for his brother. However, he does so while she's in a relationship with said brother and they all live together. So why not sooner after all? Make it make sense. It felt all over the place.
The characters seemed flat and so very cliché like the FMC being a helpless and naive girl feeling like she deserved being treated badly by her boyfriend (the brother) until almost the very end. They just weren't very likable. Same goes for the romance. Yes the MMC treated her better but it was always said there was a strong connection between them which I just didn't see. For me, there was mostly the physical connection seeable, the emotional connection however was rarely there, maybe because they more often sat in silence than talked besides anything to do with the brother.
For years Sienna has had feelings for Donovan so when he finally notices her, she thinks all her dreams are coming true but the reality is very different. Whatever she does to please him is never enough and when it finally reaches a breaking point it is his brother Adrian who is there for her.
Adrian plays hockey at the university that Sienna attends on a scholarship. Since she is in a relationship with his brother, he has been hiding his feelings for Sienna until that is no longer possible. Acknowledging their feelings for each other is the first step but not everyone is happy they are together and will do whatever is necessary to keep them apart.
I enjoyed the evolution of Sienna’s character as with Adrian’s support she only became stronger and when it came to Adrian, he showed her that she was his everything.
First time author for me and I was so disappointed that I will not go further into this series. I skimmed more than half of the book, boring to the max, had potential and the FMC was a total people pleaser. The OW scene is a complete NO then the MMC continues to talk about it...NO. The ending was just unbelievable and the epilogue the FMC gets a backbone finally. Don't waste your time just move on. This isn't even a palette cleanser!
Blades & Bones: A Boyfriends Older Brother Dark Hockey Romance Crestwood Elite Hockey Academy book two Heather C Myers & Frankie Carona Stars:🌟🌟🌟 Spice: 🌶️🌶️ Time to read: 4 hours HEA My review may contain spoilers!!!!! Read Trigger Warnings!!!!
Tropes/Genres/tags: Forbidden Hockey romance Figure skater Opposites (rich/poor) OW drama
Sienna, 18, figure skater, people pleaser, scholarship kid Adrian, 21, hockey player, rich kid
Plot: Sienna is dating Donovan who is a HUGE WALKING RED FLAG all together. He treats Sienna poorly the entire way through the book, yet she stays because she’s liked him since middle school. We then have Adrian, who is Donovan’s older brother who is secretly in love with Sienna and tries to make up for what his brother is lacking in Sienna’s relationship. After a game of 7 minutes in heaven in which Sienna is paired with Adrian, and Donovan with another girl, tension runs high, true colors are shown, and lines are drawn.
*sigh* okay guys so I like the story but it wasn’t a 4 or 5 star for me. Personally it was just *okay*. I feel like a few things didn’t exactly make sense or weren’t explained clearly. First off the timeline for how long Adrian has been “taking care” of Donovan didn’t add up…. They were kids! Adrian was barely a teenager. Second, wtf is wrong with Donovan? He obviously has some kind of mental illness or something but it was never fully explained why he was the way he was. The book is well written. I liked the first story in this series and I will probably continue with the series. Sadly this particular storyline wasn’t for me.
Blades & Bones is Book 2 of The Crestwood Elite Hockey Academy Series. It's a steamy, slow-burn, OTT, revenge, girl gets her boyfriend's brother dark hockey romance. Sienna is a young, vulnerable girl whose mom worked for Adrian and Donovan's family. She's always crushed on Donovan. Adrian is the hunky, broody, older brother of Donovan and the perfect brother that Donovan hates. Sienna is Adrian's only weakness, so Donovan decides to exploit it for revenge and starts dating her to hurt Adrian. It's even worse when he moves her into their shared town house. Donovan is a complete tool and treats Sienna so bad. The relationship is beyond toxic, and their sibling rivalry was really over the top. As with the first book, it's dark, so read the trigger warnings. I loved Adrian though and am glad we ended on a happy note. I personally liked the first book better, but this was good, too. I look forward to book 3!.

This is a well written slow burn romance between Adrian and Sienna. The author brings a dark story with a ton of emotions and suspense, adds in some steam and moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes, delivering a terrific read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.
This was my first dark romance and my first from Heather. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m so glad I read it! It was sexy, interesting, and the Halloween vibe really added to the ambiance too. Of course, Adrian and Sienna were destined to be and the tension was hot!
The story is ok but lot of things are just half way there. Specially Sienna who really take her time finding a backbone. After how come a 13 years old Adrian can inherit and raise his brother doesn’t make sens. I think it need some rework.

Blades & Bones is the second novel In the Crestwood Elite Hockey Academy series. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to read the first novel before reading this one. While both can be read as standalones, there are several mentions of the couple from the first book, so I'll have to read that one out of order. This one is a little over the top with a doormat heroine caught between two brothers. The brothers lost their parents when they were 13 and 10. The older brother, Adrian, had been responsible for the younger one, Donovan, ever since. There's no mention of a guardian but we're told that Adrian also had to learn how to run his father's business. Kind of unrealistic for a 13 year old but explains how he was overwhelmed at a young age. The heroine, Sienna, lived on the brothers' estate with her mom, the family's housekeeper. She'd been in love with Donovan for years so, when he showed interest in her, she bent over backwards to please him. Thus, making her a "doormat". A bit of a soap opera but in a fun way. Lots of drama, angst, and conflict with a very brutal final scene. The ending is very satisfying, though, and Adrian and Sienna get their happily ever after.
*Please make sure to read the trigger warnings, as some scenes may not be tolerated well.*

Blades & Bones is book #2 in the Crestwood Elite Hockey Academy series. These can be read as complete standalone's. Although I liked book #1, this book surpassed it on so many levels. I really enjoyed it and those last few chapters! I definitely love a good ol' boyfriends brother/brother's ex girlfriend trope. But seriously, this did not disappoint. As far as I'm concerned, Sienna lucked out in the boyfriend department the second time around. Adrian never gave her a reason to doubt his feelings, never mistreated her (even when they weren't together,) he did whatever he could to protect her and make her happy. There was one part where I just wanted to shake Sienna because Adrian wanted to help her, but it was kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't. Adrian is clearly the better brother... but now to my second favorite character... LOL It's not often that you find a "minor" character who just sucks you in... but I absolutely loved Donovan (the brother/ex) because he's a walking red flag (not the good kind.) And in the end he showed his crazy and it was so fcking good! I kind of started to pity him and feel bad, but that's how those crazy toxic bastards always manipulate you. lol. ___________________________ ❤️ ”That’s another thing about love, Sienna,”….”You put yourself out there, risking everything, not sure if you’re going to get anything back. But it’s not about that. It’s the risk itself. It’s about you loving yourself enough to take that risk because it’s what you want, and you deserve to get what you want.” ___________________________
Thank god Minka and Brooke showed up and helped Sienna see the light. I am really hoping for a Brooke & Professor story as well as Henry and Freya. But now also Liam is peeking my interest. I can’t wait for more of this series. I also want to mention one of the things that I love about this series is how the epilogue is basically an interview with the couple. I think it's something unique that makes the authors stand out.
A dark hockey romance filled with manipulation and a game only one deranged person is playing! The connection for Sienna and Adrian is searing while the hate Donovan carries is absolutely poisonous, culminating in a fiery finish that offers a new beginning and puts the final nail in the coffin of an already damaged relationship. Adrian and Donovan have never been close, as brothers their relationship has always been more of a competition than anything. Adrian has always excelled at whatever he chooses to do, and Donovan can't forgive him for it or stop trying to one up him every chance he can. Which has always just rolled of Adrian, until Sienna. She was supposed to be his. And Donovan knew it. Adrian can forgive a lot of the crap Donovan has pulled in the past but not this, not using Sienna in his little game of who's the better brother. Sienna has always had a thing for Donovan, ever since middle school, and dating him is...not what she expected and the pull she's starting to feel whenever the broody and dark Adrian is around, is getting harder to ignore. But she won't come between brothers, even though she's already a pawn in a game she didn't know existed. I was a little surprised by how much I ended up liking this book. At first, I really kind of disliked Sienna, felt like she was playing both brothers a little. But as Donovan's true colors showed through and Sienna was able to really see it and not be so caught up in the fantasy of him she had built up from when they were younger it was pretty easy to jump onto team Sienna and Adrian and feel like she was played just like everyone else Donovan has in his life. The manipulation he uses and the genuine hatred he has for his brother was insane. But Adrian, love him!! Thoughtful, broody, and intense he's the perfect book boyfriend and the way he knows his brother and handles what happens with Sienna is a mark of what a great guy he is. A great read that gets better with every page!
Sienna grew up with Donovan and his older brother Adrian, but her mom was “the help” so she is not on the social level that they guys are on however Sienna has always had a thing for Donovan and when she starts at Crestwood he finally asks her out. From the beginning of the book Donovan is a total jerk to Sienna and you can’t even tell if he likes her or is just using her. His total lack of interest towards her interests as well as his gaslighting/manipulation with Sienna is disgusting and is beyond toxic. The level of competition from Donovan to Adrian is over the top and so much more than sibling rivalry.
Adrian has always had a thing for Sienna and thought he kept it on the downlow but Donovan picked up on it and ran with it claiming her as his and even moving her into their shared townhouse. Since they all live together Sienna constantly has run ins with broody Adrian and there is an attraction there, but Sienna bends over backwards to please Donovan, so he doesn’t leave her. Donovan knows what to do and pushes every one of Adrian’s buttons where Sienna is concerned. However, Adrian does everything he can to connect with Sienna while trying to respect that she is in a relationship even though it’s his brother. He knows his brother is playing games with her but Adrian and Sienna have chemistry and there is some sexual tension at times. Sienna is finally clued into Donovan’s real feelings
Add in some hockey, spicy scenes, dark revenge and angst on top of the forbidden older brother and you have winner with this book. I enjoyed reading it but would have loved to have a little more at the end as I feel like it lacked closure with Donovan, Adrian and Sienna.

This is my first time reviewing a (dark) sports romance novel, and I was genuinely surprised. Here, we follow a forbidden romance between Sienna, a scholarship student who's dating Donovan, and Adrian, a skilled hockey player, who happens to be Donovan's older brother. Although the plot was somewhat predictable, it continued to catch my interest and attention throughout. I have to point out that the story's climax came unexpectedly and escalated quickly. That was one twist I did not anticipate. My only complaint is that I wish there were more details in the epilogue, especially the masquerade ball. I am an absolute sucker for dance scenes on top of a happy ending.
As for the characters, while I understand where Sienna was coming from, I was quite frustrated with her submissiveness at times. However, I was happy to see her finally stand up, defend herself, and speak for herself when confronting the villain. It was long overdue! As for Adrian, he was loyal, thoughtful, and caring. It was also interesting to observe that he had different outlets for channeling his anger and frustrations, which I find rare and respectable. Finally, the chemistry between Sienna and Adrian translated well into the spicy scenes, as it was sweet and passionate.
I WOULD RECOMMEND IF 📒
If you're looking for a mature, dark, and spicy sports romance that features themes such as "forbidden romance/fruit," "boyfriend's brother," "alpha and obsessed MMC," "he falls first," "touch her and d**, "no cheating," and "HEA," then this is the book for you.

Sienna has been dating Donovan for three months. She’s had a crush on him since they were kids, but she never thought someone like him would go for her: the quiet figure skater and scholarship kid.
Donovan’s brother, Adrian, has liked Sienna for a long time. During a game of spin the bottle at a Halloween party, Sienna lands on Adrian and they have to spend 7 minutes in the haunted house. Then Donovan lands his spin on a different girl. The events of this night cause a rift in Sienna and Donovan’s relationship.
Sienna really needed to know how to stand up for herself when it came to her relationship with Donovan. She completely let him walk all over her which was aggravating to see. She ignored a lot of red flags with him because she just thought she should be grateful he wanted to date her??
I never really understood why Adrian never went after Sienna if she “was always meant to be his” like he said several times. He doesn’t make a move until after his brother is already dating her which didn’t make sense considering how possessive he sounded in his internal monologues. It would have been nice to see this fleshed out a little more and maybe try and get a better understanding of them growing up.
It was a little surprising that the whole book only spanned like 1-2 weeks? It made some parts feel dragged out and repetitive, and then other parts were glossed over quickly.
Overall, I did enjoy the story and I’ll be interested in continuing with the next book.

In this gripping hockey romance, manipulation and rivalry take center stage as a deranged individual plays a dangerous game with the lives of those around them. Sienna and Adrian share an intense connection, while Donovan's toxic hatred threatens to destroy everything in its path. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Adrian and Donovan's competitive relationship has always been strained, but Sienna's presence ignites a dangerous spark that neither brother can ignore.
Sienna finds herself caught between the two brothers, torn by her feelings for Donovan and the undeniable pull she feels towards Adrian. However, as Donovan's true nature is revealed and Sienna sees through his manipulative facade, she realizes she's been nothing more than a pawn in his twisted game.
Despite initial reservations about Sienna, her growth and realization about Donovan's true colors make her a sympathetic character. Adrian emerges as a thoughtful and intense presence, standing up against his brother's manipulation and hatred. His character development and handling of the situation with Sienna showcase his strength and integrity.
Overall, this book exceeded expectations, drawing readers in with its suspenseful plot and compelling characters. With each turn of the page, the story unfolds, revealing deeper layers of intrigue and emotion.

Blades & Bones 📚 I mean, Adrian was a fantastically obsessed und possessive book boyfriend. Quiet. Brooding. Rich. Sienna was sweet but insecure and never felt like she deserved anything up until very late in the story. So Sienna is with Adrian‘s little brother. From the getgo, Donovan is the poster child of toxicity and gaslighting. He is with Sienna to stick it to his older brother. While not admitting it out loud, Adrian is head over heels for Sienna and possessive as hell since middle school. I loved his chapters. It was the kind of obsession I was looking for. But why didn’t act Adrian on his feeling before his brother could swoop in? This was never made clear.
So I really enjoyed this up until the story went somewhat downhill. The big conflict created by Donovan and eventual “showdown” didn’t make much sense to me. I also didn’t feel the conflict between the brothers was explained very well. We were just to take for granted that they hated each other.
Overall, I had a good time the storytelling could have been stronger.
⟡ Tropes and Rating ⟡ 🏒 x boyfriend‘s brother 🏒 x hockey player x figure skater 🏒 x rich guy x poor girl 🏒 x hero obsessed 🏒 x no third act breakup
This was a pretty good read. It was a fast paced story. I IMMEDIATELY hated Donovan lol. Literally first two pages. What an ass lol. Adrian won me over right away, for no other reason than he wasn't Donovan. His quiet love for Sienna was admirable. He knew she loved Donovan since they were young, so he had basically let her go. It felt like, at times, something had happened between Adrian and Sienna when they were younger, just by the wording used at times, but you don't really get anything further. Donovan is real piece of work... Messing with everything. But when you find out why... It kind of makes you feel bad for him. Kind of.
One part that I really wish we had gotten more of, was the Masquerade event. You get an interview at the end... But nothing more. What happened there? What did her dress look like?
I think this is one of the only series that I really hope that each character gets their own book! Like, I want to know more about Adrian and Sienna. Where they go and all that but... I want to know what happened with Liam, and what happens. That guy seems like he's got some good secrets. One of which is eluded to, but you don't get anything but a passing comment.
Sienna has always been a part of Donovan and Adrian’s life. Her mother worked for their family and after their parents die. Adrian took care of Donovan. Donovan has always been jealous of Adrian because of his talent, and then he took it too far when he stole Sienna from Adrian. Adrian has always had a thing for her and Donovan knew that. So Adrian makes it a mission to make Sienna his by showing her who Donovan is.
F-Donovan seriously! That guy deserves to be punched in the face every time he opens his month. The gaslighting and manipulation was real with that one. I am so glad this book turned out the way it did. Sienna and Adrian deserve it all.
The spice was a slow burn, but when it happened it exploded out of them and god dang it was HOT! I would recommend this to anyone who likes hockey and jealous, possessive men who will not let their woman go. I love this series so far! I’m recalling looking forward to Liam’s story and Omg I need to know what happened with Damien’s stepmom. What about Henry? Omg I need all their books like yesterday please!
I really wanted to like this series but after dragging myself to finish this second book I won't be reading the rest. In all fairness, I read the first book in the series and hoped to see improvement in this second book based on some reviews. Unfortunately, the same issues that plagued the first book were present, if not worse, in this one.
No spoilers ahead. The plot hangs by a thread, the FMC and MMC aren't really likeable, the villian doesn't quite make sense, the timeline is not realistic and the writing goes nowhere. There's little to no character development or growth into Crestwood Academy universe. Most of the writing is a flowery prose of FMC's/MMC's inner thoughts rather than interactions that progress the story. Other characters are just plot devices or extensions of the FMC's/MMC's psyche. Overall, most of the book is filler than could be cut down.
Please please please read the tw before reading this book. This book isn’t for everyone’s and that’s Ohkay. I loved the book. Her writing style is different, it’s mature and articulate. Very detailed with everything she described. I felt I was in the book. The way she described of the characters touching to them actually putting the cups in the sink. Medium paced. Not too dark of a romance. The character build was good. Even though I kept yelling girlllllll don’t let that man gaslight you ONE MORE TIME!! I hated Donovan what a pos. It couldn’t been a bit darker but I did truly enjoy it. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Fav quote “Sometimes it's not about the destination but the journey itself. The maze teaches us to embrace uncertainty and find beauty in the unexpected.".

Love. Love. Loved this!! This is seriously the best romance I've read so far this year! This series is going to be the death of me I swear. I eat all this up and I'm 100% going to be re-reading these books over and over again.
Adrian and Sienna have my heart. Their relationship is to die for with how they desired one another and how protective Adrian is over Sienna. This was a great dark, forbidden romance. With slow burn, boyfriends older brother, he falls first, alpha and obsessed MMC, touch her and ☠ tropes, I was able to devour this story within a few hours!! To be honest... the way Adrian was written is everything I want in a man 😂
I just, absolutely loved this and I 100% recommend this to anyone who enjoys dark romances like this, it is definitely worth the read. ❤

I'll start with saying that this is the second book in the series and it was free. I actually enjoyed it for a dark College Romance. I did have some issues with the main female character. I understood why she was uncertain and went back and forth between two love interests but it got annoying after a while. I felt like the book moved at a good pace and there were definitely spicy scenes. I think if the storyline had a little bit more focused on the growth of the main female character instead of every POV chapter of hers warring with herself over who to be in a relationship with it would have gotten more stars. This book actually made me curious about the other characters in the friend group and how their stories would play out. Definitely not a bad book if you're into college romances and sports romances and are dipping your toe in the dark side.
This was definitely a page-turner for me! I loved the tormented and alpha mine feelings from Adrian, the older brother. Sienna, was easy to connect with about her twisted emotions between the two brothers. What really got me was how twisted and dark Donovan got, but I don’t want to spoil anything! The author definitely got me to hate him and pity him by the end. There are several spicy scenes but they added to the plot line or didn’t overshadow the story. They are well written and I felt also evoked the emotions the characters were feeling. Overall, this was a quick read hockey romance with well written characters with a dark twist.
