I have temporarily been set loose on Kindle Unlimited, and what does that mean...? Yes, that means that I must go forth and find the weirdest things I can. Them's the rules; I don't make them. Was this the first thing I downloaded? Yes. Yes it was. Let's break it down.

The plot: harebrained and full of holes the size of Montana

The hero: absolute stalker creep; a walking (and tentacle-waving) red flag; fuck no

The heroine: cares about nothing but dance for about 3% of the book and nothing but the hero for the other 97%

The writing: sometimes middling, sometimes semi-competent, sometimes semi-incoherent

The punctuation: oh dear god no

The sex: Are you familiar with the term "tentacle porn"? Because if you weren't before...you are now. Do you regret your life choices? I sure regret mine.

The verdict: 1.5 stars, and the extra half-star is for sheer wtf-ery. I'd be entertained if it weren't for the stalking (I don't know how many times I have to say that stalking is not romance) and the punctuation, but those are pretty egregious.

I'm a fan of the madness Juno Delight keeps offering up, so it's no surprise I was really excited to read this book. It is just as weird and smutty as you'd expect. The writing is still pretty rough and ready, but I love that weird, smutty little stories like this exist in this world and that there are people out there thinking "Oh, remember Step Up? How about we do that but add tentacles and the mafia." Perfect.

There is a lot more plot than I was anticipating, although it does fall to the side towards the end. It almost felt like this was the first part of a story - there are several loose ends left hanging after the smut really gets going. If tentacles are your thing I think you'd be very happy with the smut - they go everywhere and they do everything. You all know what I mean.

If this story developed a part two I'd definitely read it - I'd love to know what's happened with the parents in particular.
