Ciaran is the polar opposite to his twin Callum, he is quieter and less invested in the family fortune than Callum and his other brothers are. The tragic death, of his Grandmother in a street crime, followed by his parents being killed in a car accident, has lead Ciaran into a career in the NYPD. He wants to make a difference and try to help prevent more people turning to crime, and has used his share of the family fortune to start doing just that.
Millie is the girl Ciaran loved from afar at school. He watched as his brother dated her, then, too unsure of himself to ask her out, then lost her to Tanner, the Captain of the football team. She disappeared from his life when she married Tanner and left New York. Ten years later she is back, a shadow of the girl who left all those years ago, desperate for a job and living in a slum .
A chance meeting with her high school friend leads to a new job and the chance to start again, away from the husband she left in Chicago. Ciaran takes her under his wing and although he realises she isn't telling him the whole story about her reasons for leaving her marriage, gives her the breathing space and support to rebuild her life. As the two become closer Millie finally sees a future for them, a future that is in danger of being destroyed when her husband finds her and threatens to destroy Ciaran if she doesn't come back to him. She knows if she goes back to Tanner there is every chance he will destroy her instead, but can she just watch him ruin the O' Reilly family and do nothing?
A story of secrets, lies and a love that has waited far too long, it will keep you unable to put it down. The third in the series The O'Reilly Brotherhood Ciaran is another brother you will fall in love with. It doesn't hurt that Draven, another of Tracie's men, is featured heavily through the story. This guy has appeared in a number of books and you will either love him, ( I absolutely do) or hate him and he will eventually have his own story. Tracie writes stories that you can't help but fall in love with the characters. This woman hasn't written a book I haven't loved so I can only say, grab this and go back and read Declan and Callum's stories you will love these guys and the women who tame them.

Ciaran. My favorite brother. My man in blue. Golden retriever who goes to lengtha to always protect his family and the ones he loves. Living his life never able to fulfill his life as the one got away.
In enters Millie - the one that got away 10 years ago. Returning to NYC, escaping an unhealthy marriage and looking to find herself and really start her life. She is jumpy but also not willing to allow anyone to step on her again.
This was a wholesome story. Ciaran getting his one and Millie living her fullest. A little rushed their relationship but as Millie said «I checked out of my marriage years ago». It lost half a star simply because her thinking she needed to move in with her ex to protect Ciaran annoyed me 😒

I love this series! Ciaran & Millie are such wonderful characters. I would love to see a story with Draven as MMC, I enjoyed his character as well.
