Vanilla Twist is the continuing story of Heather & Tony from the Walk on the Wild Side series. This is definitely another winner for author C.J. Ellisson.

Heather & Tony's life together as a couple is going great then the bottom drops out with a major development in Tony's life when a blast from the past shows up with a big surprise. Heather stands by Tony during this difficult time.

I enjoyed meeting and getting to know Tony's two brothers Vinnie and Gino. Do I see a couple books for these two hot guys in the future?

I really loved this book as the relationship between this great couple grows by leaps and bounds. I look forward to the next book for this hot couple in Vanilla Spice.

Vanilla Twist drops you in the middle of Heather and Tony’s on-going relationship. A relationship that originated in Vanilla on Top which I have not yet read – a warning label should be applied. Overall, I was able to still enjoy the story, would have enjoyed more details about aforementioned events.

In contemporary romance I expect certain characteristics in my protagonists, and they must complement each other. While the characteristics may differ depending on circumstances, there are things that I am unwilling to accept as a reader. This is especially true in regards to the hero in the story. Tony Carmine has moments within the story where I felt his actions were less than heroic. The author never crossed the line into unredeemable territory but C.J. Ellisson pushes against the boundary.

This book differed slightly from my usual read – the heroine is the lead. For the majority of the story, regardless of POV, Heather is the focal point. Originally, this felt odd but as the story progressed I discovered that it made for a more realistic telling. She is not your typical self-assured woman but I enjoyed witnessing her the dominant position.

Together, as a couple, they are spectacular; as individuals they are sub-par. He is boorish and her confidence withers.

While the ending cannot be considered a cliffhanger (the storylines are all resolved) – it is also not a true ending.

Disclosure: This book was provided to BBMoreB free of charge for the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments, and ratings are my own.

They have only been together for a few weeks but Heather and Tony are finding an addictive rhythm with one another. Starting a new job, Heather hopes that it doesn't take away from spending time with Tony and falling in the pitfalls of a distanced relationship. Everything is going better than Tony expected with Heather, he is thoroughly enchanted, but when a woman from his past comes forward intending to make Tony come back, he finds himself in a precarious situation with Heather.

A sequel to Vanilla on Top. The electricity is still there with Heather and Tony and it does not simmer, it is full out sizzle. I thoroughly enjoyed peaking into Tony and Heather's life. Great read.

OMG! CJ sure ratcheted up the heat (and the tension) in Vanilla Twist. This is a continuation of Heather and Tony’s developing romance. It starts up shortly after Vanilla On Top left off. Tony and Heather have had some rough spots in their romance as Heather’s initial secret she kept from tony stung, but Tony has evolved in his romacne with heather and they continue to explore their sexual boundaries. With his new found freedom from the corporate hum-drum Tony is highly involved in the renovation of his Hoboken building. What Heather doesn’t know is exactly what Tony has planned to surprise her, but when a fling from the past threatens to bring it all crubmbling on its foundations, can Tony keep heather or will she run for the hills?

Heather is just getting settled in as Parkerson’s new CFO and only female board member, but when her past also comes a calling and attempts to deflate her new found confidence and her self-esteem it can ruin all she has achieved at Parkerson. Can she handle this new obstacle on her own or will it threaten to turn Tony’s lil Minx into a kitten all over again?

Tony a Heather are a strong coupling sexually. With Tony, Heather feels empowered and strong in being around him and encouraging their exploration of each other. Tony is not afraid anymore to let Heather explore and try new things. Some things he never imagined previously with other women. While their relationship is still relatively new they both have very strong feelings for each other, but have yet to say “I Love you.” It doesn’t keep them from conveying their emotions and thoughts openly. They are great together even in a romantic relaxed setting, such as having dinner at Heather’s or even snapping pictures around town.

When a woman from Tony’s past starts calling him and he finally decides to take the call it sends his world reeling. First thing his mind thinks what she says has to be a scam and she’s out for money and a stake to his name. He denies what she says to be true and claims until Science can prove it fact, it can’t be true. A niggling sense of dread fills him as his mind contemplated what the implications could mean should her claim be true. Is he ready to face a whole new lifestyle and the consequences of his previous ways? He doesn’t handle it very well initially, and he doesn’t realize how his response has affected Heather’s POV until its too late. Only after Tony’s brothers intervene does he take a good hard look at how he’s handling the situation and how it really might have affected her thoughts on their future together. He thinks long and hard and realizes he’s been acting like a jerk. He decides that in order to make things right he’ll bone up to his responsibilities if her claim is true and also come clean to Heather and allows her to help him make decisions.

What Tony reveals his news it shocks heather to say the least. She needs some space and time to mull it over and how it will change the dynamics of their relationship. Can she handle that on top of the newcomer to Parkerson on her own? A perfectly timed work trip helps clear her head and her perspective. She talks to Tony and they decide to talk it out after she returns. She also figures out what has to be done at work to maintain her self-esteem and relations with the newcomer. Does she handle things the right way and will her and Tony make things work? You need to read to find out, its that good!

I loved how CJ brought on the tension in this story and its there for a very good majority of this story. I couldn’t believe how things played out and neither will you, it was a surprise to see how things happened and the turns that it made. Tony has a lot on his plate and he is confronted with his former ways in thinking how he’s treating Heather. It makes him rethink how she may see his surprises and what she truly does mean to him. Heather loves all the things Tony does for her and his consideration for her feelings. They are a great matched couple and I hope things work out. CJ does give us one little hint of something that could play out in a next story. I certainly would LOVE to see if it is true and what comes next! Another great star read from CJ for Vanilla Twist!

VANILLA TWIST by C.J. Ellisson: Asks Interesting Questions

E-ARC provided by author for review purposes. No remuneration was exchanged and all opinions presented herein are my own except as noted. The author is a friend.

I have been reading C.J.'s books for quite some time now. And, we've met both online and in person. She's a hoot — great fun, hard-working. And she is working hard on her craft. In fact, recently she edited some of her earlier books, and she and Boone Brux combined their two series in a paranormal world merger with DEATH TIMES TWO.

In this book the sex takes a back seat to emotional growth and while not answered, interesting questions are asked about societies double standards for men and women and the impact that the current popularity of BDSM may have on relationships where it is misunderstood and misused. It's interesting that the second book in the series also explored double standards.

CJ has a consistent voice throughout the series. The story is told from Tony's and Heather's points of view in an immediate present to immediate past tense. While this is interesting, and especially in sex scenes, puts you in the moment, it is not my favorite way for a story to be told. It's like a head camera is recording everything the character sees, does, says and thinks as it is happening. It is a more widely accepted format these days, and perhaps our current "instant" media culture and reality TV have something to do with that.

I didn't feel the separate points of view defined the characters very differently. I was not always certain which character's head I was in. But, I liked the questions C.J. explores here, and there's an interesting twist on sexual harassment I am pretty sure we haven't seen finished.

I did like the way the problems were discussed and resolved, and the way as a couple Tony and Heather honestly explore feelings and admit to themselves and each other what is troubling them I get tired of lack of communication being the biggest obstacle in fictional relationships; couples face other, very real problems. Also, they don't use sex as a way of solving the problems they have, instead they use their words. This is probably the best thing in this book for me, because so often an entire plot hinges on failing to communicate the simplest thing which is blown out of proportion.

Not using sex for problem solving doesn't mean C.J. left it out. There's plenty of hot, slightly kinky stuff going on. Everyone is satisfied. I can't always say I like the way it is written out, but the last few encounters are pretty cool.
All, in all I recommend this story for its unexpected depth and the interesting ways C.J. looks at issues. What are the precise issues? Now, now — that would spoil the "Twist!"

3.5 star-- Book 2 of 3.

CJ Ellisson is pretty much my crack when it comes to books. I can't get enough of her characters and the worlds she creates. They're fun and sexy and have a bit of drama and are just irresistible. And Vanilla Twist was a pretty good showing. Especially in the heat department. Whew!

The quick of it-- This is book two featuring Heather and Tony (book one Vanilla on Top got a 5 star from me). Vanilla Twist is a peek back into their relationship and how they're doing as they deal with some insecurities, outside drama from each of their pasts rearing it's ugly head and how they're moving forward together. And all with a healthy heaping of sheet time.

I loved these two in Vanilla on Top so it was fun getting to see them again. They're an excellent fit and love exploring everything with each other sexually which is so fun and exciting to read (she takes the lead the majority of the time). I couldn't help but smile over some of their reactions to this or that. They're definitely stronger as a pair than individually and I could see them making it as a couple.

I really enjoy Heather's character. She's got some insecurities because of a past relationship but more often than not she's able to shake herself out of them and find her inner strength. She's just a good person and I love seeing her excitement over things. Tony on the other hand I really struggled with this time around. While he's pretty wonderful where Heather is concerned he did not handle things well with the drama from his past that shows up and I found myself liking him less and less as the book went on and not really seeing him as a hero anymore. His reactions while I could see being true to life just didn't work for me. He came off as a jerk a lot of the time though he did somewhat redeem himself in the end it wasn't really enough for me to completely respect him as the hero anymore.

Overall, I enjoyed Vanila Twist. There were some really hilarious moments between Tony and his brothers/best friend and lordy the chemistry between Tony and Heather was scorching hot. While I wasn't wild about Tony and there were some writing spots that felt awkward to me Heather shined as a heroine and had me rooting for her from the get go and really won the book in my opinion. If you're looking for a hot spicy erotic romance to heat up the weekend give this one a go (though I'd recommend starting with Vanilla on Top first).

Holy hot book C.J..

First, I definitely recommend reading Vanilla on Top before you start Vanilla Twist. You want the lead up to this book and it is totally worth the read.

Now on to Vanilla Twist.

Vanilla Twist picks up not long after the Vanilla Twist ends. We slide right back into our familiarity with this couple.

Heather and Tony have the most amazing chemistry. It sizzles off the pages. I’m not just talking during the sex scenes (which are extremely hot), during the whole book, any interaction these two have together, you can feel it between them.

There are new conflicts that come up, both in Heather and Tony’s lives. Tony is the type of conflict that can break a relationship if it isn’t handled the right way. Question is, does Tony handle it the right way? and how does Heather react?

I really liked that we got to know some of Tony’s family in this book. There was some interaction with his brothers that show how close his family is and those parts, I believe were integral to the book and how it progressed.

One thing I love about C.J.’s steamier reads is that there is a plot. I like my romances to be hot and sexy but there has to be a story there – so that, say… if you skip the sex scenes (I would never) there would be something left there to read. There is in her books. There is an amazing storyline that goes along WITH the sex, the sex is PART of both of them growing as people, for Heather, finally embracing who she is, not being a doormat any longer, for Tony, giving up a little of the control that he has always needed to hold. It’s not just thrown in the book frivolously to make us get all hot and bothered. (Not holding anything against those books, they just aren’t my favorite style to read.) There is something happening, something meaningful occurring during those moments. It’s just an amazing read.

I loved Vanilla Twist. C.J. did an amazing job with this book (and with Vanilla on Top). It is one of my favorite series. She has a way of writing that makes this story completely believable. Her characters have their own insecurities and flaws, just like we all do, but there is amazing communication between the two, and it’s a wonderful book.

Thank you so very much for my ARC!

As with the other Ellisson books I’ve read, VANILLA TWIST is sexy, interesting and fun to read. She creates real characters - most you’d like to get to know and some you’d like to slug. The situations are realistic and, in the VANILLA books, completely unique. Tony is hot, flirty and very successful but not full of himself like you’d expect. Heather is like most of us - part accomplished, confident businesswoman and part insecure, inexperienced girl next door. Who, like Heather, hasn’t dreamed of leaving all their hang-ups behind and asserting a new self? Just like Tony, I found Heather’s sometimes aggressiveness, sometimes shyness, very intriguing. It’s fascinating to watch her take control with Tony from their first meeting in VANILLA ON TOP and even more intriguing to watch them go through the fears and worries all new couples experience in VANILLA TWIST. The equality in their relationship allows them to switch things up and enjoy different scenarios, to each be vulnerable at times and dominate at others. The stresses on their new relationship cause them a lot of angst and have the potential to break them apart leaving the reader nail-biting waiting to find out if they can make it through the tough times. These experiences are catalysts to each growing, becoming stronger and better and creating a firmer foundation for their love.

Unlike the plethora of BDSM books on the market lately, these two push some boundaries, try some new things and have a lot of steamy sex but never cross into the harsher world of domination, bondage or other “lifestyles”. Their version of vanilla is most definitely not bland or boring.

I’m highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the next installment in the series.

Rating: 4.5

Heat Rating: Steamy/Sizzling: Sensual, with more explicit love scenes and the language may be more graphic and direct.

I received Vanilla Twist in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the third installment in C.J. Ellisson’s Walk on the Wild Side series. I inadvertently skipped the second book, Avoiding Mr. Right, but that’s okay. I can go back and play catch up because Vanilla Twist goes back to Heather and Tony, so I felt like I wasn’t missing a thing – at least where they were concerned.

Vanilla Twist once again proves that C.J. Ellisson can keep me turning pages whether she’s writing PNR or contemporary. Her characters are interesting and fun, the situations and story line keep me intrigued and the heat is just right.

Heather and Tony’s relationship was just getting off the ground by the end of Vanilla on Top and it was nice to see that it was still going strong. They were still in the ‘getting to know’ you phase, but they definitely had a connection that neither one of them had experienced before. It was fresh, exciting and fun…. and then the real world came crashing in.

I’ll leave it at that, because I don’t want to spoil anything. A lot happens in Vanilla Twist that helps readers get to know the characters a lot better, and not just Tony and Heather. The story wasn’t just about the situation that Tony and Heather found themselves in, it was more about the way that they eventually handled it. The supporting characters were more than just filler. The conversations and interactions between them all gave readers a better understanding of where they were all coming from. (I especially liked getting to know Tony’s brothers.)

Vanilla Twist was a great addition to the Walk on the Wild Side series and I can’t wait to see what C.J. Ellisson has in store for these characters next. I’m pretty sure that there is more to Heather and Tony’s story, but I wouldn’t mind getting to know some of the other characters better too.

This is my 3rd C.J. Ellisson book that I’ve read and I must say, her books are such a breeze. Each book read so smoothly, effortlessly that I always feel like her books are so short. I’m sure they’re not but you can’t help but devour these books. The characters feel so real and the sexy scenes are HOT HOT HOT!!!

I’m VERY glad that this book came along because after Vanilla On Top, I felt like Heather and Tony’s story wasn’t over. I wanted more. This was the perfect next book in the series! :-) The best part is that Vanilla Twist takes place right after Vanilla on Top so it’s like we never left them.

**spoilerish if you didn’t read Vanilla on Top**

Now that Tony has more time on his hands after his recent career change, readers are able to see a slightly different side of him. I like the fact that he seems more “normal”. In Vanilla on Top we know he’s a really rich and wealthy business man but I like the more manly/handyman side to him. Tony is more down to earth then most men with his wealth.

Heather is just starting her new role as CFO, so they are both settling into their new lives. Heather is smart and confident still but has a very situations at work that test her conviction. Tony as well goes through some possible life changes and has to question himself on several occasions.

I like the fact that in Vanilla Twist, Heather and Tony are both going through REAL LIFE issues. Something that lots of people can relate to. Their relationship is full of sexual chemistry, love and most importantly trust. I like that when Ellisson writes her characters they seem real. Their relationship although new and fresh is reminiscent of a marriage. I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read and look forward to more books in this series. :-)

We left Tony and Heather in bliss at their new jobs, relationship, and new undertakings. Now they still consumed each others thoughts and things are going amazing. But when things are too perfect that's when you need to worried most. Ex's walk back into both of their lives... for Tony a 2week fling with an astronomical claim... for Heather an abusive ex boyfriend at her own work no less. What will happen? Will the pressure be too great? Do they share more than crazy amazing sex?

This second installment of the Vanilla series is just as good as the first! Tony is just as charming and sexy which makes it adorable to watch this man falling for a strong and independent women such as Heather. And its beautiful how Heather is embracing her new life with Tony and all the good that he brings out of her. They are growing and becoming stronger as a couple and they still have not lost their spark for each other.

Did I mention the sex yet? Well I should! The scenes have not lost their heat from book #1 they have gotten a little wilder and more adventures. I feel that they are progressing right along with the couple and what you experiment with once you get into that comfort zone with your partner. C J Ellison has not lost her touch, the scenes will get your motor running! Hot!

I love this series and I can not wait to see what happens between Heather and Tony! The ending of this book does not leave you guessing or in a cliff hanger but waiting for the future and what is in store for the couple.

When I bought this 2nd book in The Wild Side Series I read it put it down then picked it up I kept doing that all morning. I liked the book but didn't love it, like I did the 1st one.

Heather and Tony in this book are really falling in love. However when their exes come into the picture chaos begins. Tony trying to hide from telling Heather that Portia is pregnant and Heather trying to avoid the sexual harassment from her ex. However, Heather seemed like another love struck teenager always thinking of Tony. Tony seemed the same way. It was like every chapter they were thinking of each other. Like they had no life other then each other. Until problems arise that might destroy their relationship that is. It was really not what I expected.

The sex scenes were not like book 1 at all where Heather seemed to be this confident take control girl. It started out hot but as the book got further on. It was like oh ok I have read that before even if it was Vanilla BDSM.

The ending was unpredictable of what was going to happen to Portia Tony's ex which was a surprise. However the ending seemed so crammed together like she wanted to hurry up and end the story. The author left a lot of loose ends.

This is 1 of those books that I have mixed feelings about, I like it but don't love it. It would be one of those books that If it was an actual book and not on my kindle I would put it in the get rid of box. Since I wouldn't read it over again.

Vanilla Twist: A Walk on the Wild Side Novel (Heather and Tony, Book 2) (Kindle Edition)

This is one of only a few books in this genre that I have read. I didn't read book 1 in this series, but I felt that I could follow along in this book just fine as there was enough background information given.

Being a much older person, I was asked by a younger friend to read her e-copy of this book last week and I had to say that she got her Kindle back quite rapidly!!! My friend is very fond of this genre and she wanted to see what my thoughts were. Well..... I found the characters very relatable and noticed how interesting the secondary characters were as well. Ms. Ellisson makes her characters come alive with their depth and their intense desire to change things in their life The story is much more than the romantic encounters of this couple and I was pleasantly surprised to find this story so interesting that I now want to read book 1 and looking forward to book 3 as well.

Not wanting to reveal anything that would ruin this book for anyone else, suffice to say this was one heck of a hot book with a lot of depth and character development at least in my estimation. I could feel Heather and Tony progressing in their relationship and in life itself in just this one book.

Would recommend this book to anyone who is looking forward to reading a story about two fairly complex people and how they deal with life and love. And there IS both in this book.

Heather and Tony & the Case of the Exes

Just when everything in Heather and Tony's lives seems to be moving forward their exes ride back in to cause trouble. If you read the blurb that probably sounds like an epic amount of spoiler but if you're anything like me when it comes to reading a follow-up to a romance... you HATE it when a couple you think found their HEA are threatened by an ex's arrival. Then this one had to go and have two!!!

Heather and Tony continue their sexy fun from VANILLA ON TOP and it's just as good this go around. Maybe even a little better because they're starting to put some words to how they feel about one another behind lust. But it does get complicated as they choose to sort out their problems with their respective exes in their own ways. How could it not be right?

I admit I wavered a bit between a 4 and a 5 on VANILLA TWIST because it took me some time to feel like the characters were as enjoyable a second time around. This is definitely one to read right after it's predecessor if you want the full effect. What made it worth the 5 was ultimately that this felt like an extra long epilogue. Like the lust from before had finally smelted down into a full-fledged relationship with staying power without losing any of the sexual momentum of the first. Very sexy, mildly angsty, completely satisfying.

"Vanilla Twist", the much anticipated sequel to C.J. Ellisson's "Vanilla on Top", more than lives up to the original! It takes place not long after the ending to "Vanilla on Top" and we see Heather's and Tony's relationship grow and deepen. But while the two are falling in love with each other (and not realizing they both feel the same way), they each encounter people from their past that are bringing drama that could ruin the relationship they both fought for and deserve to have! While they each try to figure out how to talk about their tense situations, they have steamy dates and Tony creates a surprise for Heather that leads to a very sexy photo shoot and a first-ever gallery showing for one of them! But the exes are closing in, one more tightly than the other. Is their relationship strong enough to handle a possible big change? You absolutely want to find out! I moved from one chapter to the next very quickly, with some suspenseful cliffhangers that were better than cliffhangers I've read before! The writing is amazing, the story flows easily, and you aren't going to want to put the book down for anything! I loved watching Heather and Tony grow as their relationship and feelings for each other got stronger!

VANILLA TWIST is the third instalment in CJ Ellisson’s A Walk on the Wild Side contemporary, adult, erotic romance series. This is Heather Pierce and Tony Carmine’s second storyline. We were first introduced to our couple in the first book-Vanilla on Top-a story where Heather stepped out of her comfort zone to find the man who was her perfect match-both inside and outside of the bedroom.

Vanilla Twist furthers Heather and Tony’s relationship but a relationship that is threatened by Tony’s past and Heather’s ex. Tony’s history of womanizing and short-lived relationships plays a role in his friendships with family and pals but it is one recent relationship in particular that may push away the woman that he loves. As Heather’s photography business begins to flourish her corporate life will force her to make a decision about both her future and her past.

CJ Ellisson writes a storyline where two people must face the possibility of a different future then the one they had originally intended. The sex is sensual, arousing and inventive; but it is the maturity with which both Tony and Heather handle a potentially difficult situation that brings our couple together for a HEA.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are interesting and we got to see them grow and change a bit from the first book. We also learn more about them and see that they are not perfect, which makes it easy to relate to them. Everyone just wants someone to love. The twist in the plot definitely added to the story. We got to learn a bit more about each of their pasts (with Portia and Jimmy) and we got to see them actually deal with something instead of being in a little happy (and sexy) bubble. We also learned more about Tony’s family and about Heather’s hobby of photography. I can not wait to see where it all leads in the next book. There are quite a few ‘hot and bothered’ scenes but none of them are way over the top, which I really liked. I feel that if they are over the top then it takes away from the story. With this book, each scene added to the story.
Towards the end of the book, I was wondering how the author was going to tie up the loose ends so quickly. But it all worked out and it had a great cliff hanger, making me excited for the next book.
Overall I can say that I am defiantly enjoying this series and the characters. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a book that has you turning the pages with interest and passion.

This is book 3 in the series, so please read at least "Vanilla on Top" before this book so you know who the characters are and where it leaves off. This story does leave off right were Vanilla on top left us. Heather is starting a new job in her company as the CFO. She has to face the board meeting and meet another new employee, aka...her ex-boyfriend who was abusive (mentally and physically). She is scared to talk to him since he has decided to play games and she doesn't know what he is doing at her job and why? Tony and Heather have only dated two weeks, but tony is getting series since she is the only person he has been with that has not wanted his money or use him. She likes him for him. Then the ball is dropped when one of his ex-girlfriends calls and tells him she is pregnant. He is scared to lose Heather, and denies that the ex is pregnant with his child. He knows she is a party girl and wants him for his money, not love. What Tony finds out is that Heather stands by her man and willing to go through all the drama since they both love each other. Very good and cant wait till the next one comes out.

The title Vanilla Twist perfectly categorizes the books in the Walk on the Wild Side series. They are vanilla...with a twist. They have sex with a little exploration. I wouldn't go as far as to call the series erotica or BDSM, they do have a bit of spice to them but there's a lot more to the series than sex.

It's hard to believe that Heather and Tony are the same people from Vanilla on Top. In fact, it took me a little to make the connection that they were the same people...perhaps it had been too long since I read Vanilla on Top. They have both grown so much and I love the people they've become. Tony is such a gem...and let me just tell you that there is a photo shoot in this book that you DO NOT want to miss! In fact, I really enjoyed the added photography angle in this book since it's an on again, off again hobby of mine.

There are (of course) bumps on the road for Heather and Tony and some pretty heavy drama...what's a book without drama afterall!? Like ususal, I can't tell you if they overcome but just know that it's definitely worth the journey to find out.

In this sequel to Vanilla on Top, New York Times best selling author C.J. Ellisson has done it again. The awesome story of Heather and Tony continues, but this time some of their "baggage" gets mixed in.

First, Tony had to deal with a not so good blast from the past, his ex, Portia. While at first it seems secrets may ruin things for him and Heather, he finally comes clean and finds that Heather really is an amazingly understanding and loving person.

Of course what Tony doesn't realize is that Heather is dealing with past baggage of her own. Jimmy, Heather' s most recent ex, shows up where she least expects it.

As their story unfolds, it's nice to see that their relationship isn't all sunshine, roses and amazing sex. They have their ups and downs, but it only makes them stronger.

I found myself laughing, crying, getting mad and every other emotion you can imagine. When C.J. sets out to write a story, she makes sure she gets you so engrossed that you're sad to see it end.

Another well done book by C.J. Ellisson.

I have been waiting a while for this one. I
downloaded it on Monday and excited to read it.
Between the kids and the snow I wasn't able to
actually start reading until Wednesday. So when
the kids went off the school, I turned on the
Kindle for some me time. I'm sorry that I had to
wait. This book was another great one.

This book is steamy but it does have plot unlike
so many other juicy books. As I said this book
is on the steamy side and the woman takes or is
given control a few times. Sometimes people will
buy a book and never read the description or
reviews so they are surprised when they get to
those steamy parts. They then leave occasionally
bad reviews because they bought something they
weren't expecting. I think that is just silly.

This is the second book in the series with
Heather and Tony. I can't wait to to read the
last one and then the others that she is planning
on writing about Heather and Tony's friends.

As always, CJ's newest book is sure to please!

VANILLA TWIST is the third installment in C.J. Ellisson’s A Walk on the Wild Side. This is a contemporary, adult, erotic romance series. In this book we get to hear more about Heather Pierce and Tony Carmine's relationship. We find out how they're doing as they deal with some insecurities, outside drama that arises from both of their pasts & its rearing it's ugly head and how they're moving forward together, and of course a healthy amount of experimental hot, steamy sex.
All of the characters were instrumental in this book. Even if they weren't Heather & Tony they still mattered to C.J. and she didn't just give them a sentence or two then write them off as a way to add a little more to the story. While reading the story I think I experienced every emotion a time or two, I was laughing in parts and in the next part Id have tears in my eyes or goosebumps and them I'd be angry. So I have to say Great Job C.J. with writing another story that we can actually relate to and feel. I would most certainly recommend this book to my friends who read this genre of books :-)

Happily Ever After...almost. Heather and Tony are well on their way, but there is a long road to travel -- such is life.

Great and thoughtful continuation of the Heather and Tony story. Since this story was the "next step" in their relationship it was also that next step of depth to the story. The sex scenes are still hot, but there is a lot of personal growth and introspection in this book that you would expect of two adults moving their relationship to that serious level. Life throws the proverbial curve for both Heather and Tony. C.J. Ellisson walks you through how each character approaches their personal demons and crises not with them always handling it with good grace. Her characters are believable adults with realistic reactions to life and relationships. Ms Ellisson avoids the cheap plots tricks that many contemporary authors use to drive the story. If you want a romance with more depth and character and yet still has steamy sex, I recommend this book and series.

Vanilla Twist is Tony and Heather’s second book in the Wild Side Series and I would suggest reading Vanilla on Top first, but it isn’t totally necessary.
Heather’s growth in the first book meets more challenges as part of her baggage drops in to where she works. I worried that she would fall into the same old habits that she out grew in the first book. It takes a lot of gumption to stand up and keep growing stronger as a woman. Thank goodness she has good friends that keep her eyes focused on the real prize, Tony.
This story, Tony really has to man up and deal with some of his own history. His past shows up and threatens to ruin the budding relationship that Tony and Heather have. At least he has enough sense to know that he really doesn’t want to lose Heather.
Other characters are introduced that would really make interesting novellas, Portia (Tony’s former flame), Marcus and both of Tony’s brothers. I enjoyed reading Vanilla Twist and hope to read more from C. J. Ellisson soon.

Vanilla Twist is the second book to Vanilla on Top which is by an amazing and well written author CJ Ellisson. It starts off where we basically left them, but now that they have an established relationship, they have ex's and family member problems.

This book has equally amazing scenes from the first book and the reader will go on an emotional coaster. I was laughing out loud on the train to work, teary eyed on my lunch break, and wishing I was Heather at night (Isn't Tony such a dream). But none of this is out place or fake, you journey with the author and the characters. There real life problems, dilemmas and ultimately a believable conclusion (not spoiling it).

I would not class this book as erotica, there are steamy scenes in it, but the romantic storyline is frontmost. Its not cheap, cheesy or predictable. C.J. has done it again and this is a amazing book. Hope the third is longer, and that it happens in my real life :D

I was so looking forward to reading the sequel to Vanilla on Top, and didn't think it would be as good, but wow it's a fantastic read. It picks the story up roughly where Vanilla on Top ended, and we continue on with the journey of a heather and Tony's blossoming relationship. Their feelings for each other are growing but they encounter a few obstacles along the way, namely their exes, which just make the story more addictive! Tony has changed for the better since book one and is enjoying life since he resigned from his job whereas Heather is ready to start her new role in her new job, but they still make time for taking care of each other.

I loved the sexy photo shoot chapter, which took place in a studio that Tony made just for Heather in his appartment, it was hot and I would love to see how the photos turned out that she took! I can't wait to see what's next for them and look forward to reading the next book in the series. Well done C.J. Ellisson I loved it.

This is a great continuation of the relationships that began in the first book in the series. In fact, I think it even got hotter. C.J. Ellisson knows how to tell a tale, evolving the characters as she writes. Tony and Heather are flawed and they don't always handle the growth well. Instead of the first bloom of love, you see two people trying to adapt to each other and all of the things that make up a more mature relationship--family, work and real life beyond the sex. More depth was revealed in this book and as a result, I enjoyed it even more than the first one. Super sexy, deep character growth and a love that only gets better with time...what more can you ask for in an erotic novel? If you haven't picked it up yet-do. Start with the first one for the toe curling beginning and make sure you mark your calendar for Vanilla Spice, coming later this year. Woot!!!

A bit kinkier than Vanilla on Top and a nice nod to the fact that a new top or Dom can make mistakes and it's okay. Love the photography scene (chains, yum!)

Heather and Tony both continue to grow as individuals and together. The main conflict in this book is from their pasts coming back to haunt them. Overall, this book is more of the first in the series, and that is a damn good thing!

I received this book free for a honest review.. I really enjoyed this book. It showed how Heather made Tony see how he he needed to take responsible or his actions. This book dills with real life problems that you have to own up to from your past. The author started how with a playboy and made him into a man. A woman who learned from her past, she took control and stood up for self. Tony and Heather grew to be aweesome adults. I would recommend this book and this author to anyone. This was Awesome.
I thank you C.J. Ellisson for allowing be this chance to review this book.

How can you expand on an already happy ending between two lover's (Vanilla on Top)? By building their relationship emotionally, not just physically. A test of their feelings with real life possible conflicts, leaves you on the edge of your seat. I was unable to put the book down, because I could feel exactly what the characters were feeling (humor, desire, confusion, pain, love). And C.J. Ellisson is great at not conforming to literary norm, so you never know where the book is going to go. Make sure you have time to read before you pick this book up, since you won't be able to put it down.
