Rate this book
Once a member of England’s aristocratic society, ex Baroness, Evelyn Collins is on the search for the lifestyle she once had with the Baron, her cheater ex-husband. After overhearing at a luncheon that Hollywood’s hottest actor is getting married, she pretends to be his long-lost cousin and invites herself to his wedding in Pearl Lake, at his expense. In hopes of snagging a man, any man with money, she ends up in the arms of a man whom she knows nothing about.

Police officer, Tim Steel thought his teenage crush was long over but when he’s part of the wedding party for the girl he was sweet on back in high school, he soon realizes that wasn’t the case. Not one to rain on anyone’s parade, he gets drunk and falls into bed with the first woman that shows him a bit of interest, without even knowing her name.

When he returns home and is back on the job, a close call with a bullet changes everything he thought he wanted in life. A career change is in order, so he packs up and moves to Pearl Lake where he opens a bar, only to hire a British tourist who has decided to make the village her new home.

Will the two realize they spent a passionate night in each other’s arms and reignite the spark?

I am a beta reader for this author. And I received an ARC of Tim’s Bar. I also have kindle unlimited and would have read it regardless. I fell in love with the Pearl Lake Series in book 1, which is what led me to become a beta reader. The Pearl Lake Series is such a good series. I really feel like I could be living at Pearl Lake and be neighbors with all the characters. While some of the books could be read as stand alone it’s best to read them in order so you understand everything better. Book 7 is hotter than some of the others, which makes it even more thrilling. Aquila has such an easy, laid back style of writing that you can just so easily fall into the story and visualize it all. This book can contain triggers for some people as it is different than the rest of the series. Please be aware of the triggers before reading. The books all have a HEA and there is no cheating. Tim and Evelyn meet at a wedding but don’t realize who each other are after when they start working together. We get to read about their journey to relive that spark from the wedding and see it grow. Take a chance on the Pearl Lake Series and jump in. Be on the lookout for Book 8 after you finish this small town romance.

Sweetness, charming and a slow burning happy ending.

This book will leave you with a smile and a little hope of good things. While there's a place for hard drama, teenager hook up books, this is your escape from all that.

First this is in my top ten books of the year. It takes place in Ontario, and Pearl Lake, Canada.

At the wedding of Abbi and Ben, we have a story of Abbi's best freind Tim. I like Tim and can see why all his freinds are lifelong freinds.

After a little too much adult beverages, it gets the best of two strangers. Our hero Tim and the girl he can't get out of his head, if he only knew her name.

Tim is a seasoned cop with 20 plus years in the Police force.

A day after the wedding..an ominous warning is left unsaid. A guilt of that action at the surface.

While Tim and Jake are partners in the force, 8 years together they, they are best friends and Tim has been there to support Jake through his divorce.

A terrible heartbreaking event. A new life.

The day starts where Red is cooking bangers and mash for the local British groom Ben and his freinds. There she is Red, the girl with the perfume he can't forget and she the night she doesn't remember.

Like all great friends Ben and team find a place that will turn into Tim's retirement location. TIMS BAR.

While they all start working together to make this the place for his next steps in life, they know that the liquor license will take 45 days and so its a go.

Tim hires Evelyn and can't stop thinking of that night and he wants her near him. He does the best thing he can think of.. he hires her to work building and running the Bar. Which is just what Pearl Lake needs for all the locals and a nice revenue from all the tourists.

Then the past intrudes..

Tim with his inability to forget the night he quit the force and Evelyns escape from a very wealthy suitor.

They try to overcome the obstacles of life and a few jealous rivals.

Top ten read that leaves you wanting more..

I received an arc from the fantastic Aquilla Thorne. Will read this one hundred more times and never tire of the lovely couple.

The mystery in this book had a name. Evelyn Collins weaseled her way into Abbi and Ben’s wedding. She was able to secure a ticket to Pearl Lake after posing as a long-lost cousin. Her goal was to find a rich man to attach herself to. As a Baroness, she was used to a certain lifestyle. After being in Pearl Lake for a while, Evelyn knew she probably would not find what she was looking for. At the wedding reception, Evelyn had an “encounter” with a man. No names were exchanged.

Tim Steel is ready to walk away from being a detective and settle down in Pearl Lake. The woman he met at the reception was still thought about even though he knew he would likely never see her again. What he didn’t know is that because Evelyn did not have the money to go back to London, she was still at the Inn. After finally revealing to Kim that she was unable to pay, she was given a job at the Inn. When Tim saw Evelyn again he quickly hired her for his new business venture.

Tim knew as soon as he saw Evelyn that she was his. Unfortunately, Evelyn did not remember much of their first meeting. Evelyn’s ex-husband, the Baron, was ready to resume their relationship. Can Evelyn continue to hide from him? How long does she have before he shows up?

This Pearl Lake crew is just as crazy as ever. Roisin shows up and runs Evelyn out of the Inn. She kinda stays at the spa when she is not staying with Tim. Tim and Evelyn fit right in. I loved this book just as much as I loved every book in this series. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Thorne comes up with next. I am a fan.

This is the 7th book in the Pearl Lake series

This is such a good slow burn that it will have you hurring to turn the pages and for your eyes to read as fast as they will allow.

Even tho Evelyn was so used to living a lavish lifestyle until it was rudely taken away.
She had no other choice but to take up a job working for kim at the inn since she can't pay her way, but after an encounter with dear old Mr Anderson (if uve read the other books ull know) she decides NOPE and moves to live above Ava's spa and also takes a job offer working at tims bar.

Tim being on the force for 20plus year loosing his partner of 8yrs to a botched raide 😭 decides to quit being a cop and move to Pearl Lake to be near his friends and opens him self a bar, he hasnt been able to get his mind off the red head beauty from the wedding, he finally meets her again and offers her a job working for him. He has other intentions, too, the sly man, lol

Evelyn settled well and adapted to small town life now that she has the man of her dreams litrally lol and a great job and two cute kittens Boris and Hercules

The chemistry between these two is 🔥 like hot damn. *fans myself*

The spice in this is chiefs kisses 💋 😘 🤌

These two are such a great couple AHHHH, and i think this book has been my absolute fav by far outta the whole series

I am so glad tim became a permanent character and got his own book cos damn this book delivered

Tim's Bar is the seventh book in the Pearl Lake Series by Aquila Thorne. I normally really enjoy the books in this series, and I really liked Tim in all of the previous books, but this one in the series fell just a little short for me. I had a hard time connecting with Evelyn and didn't really feel like she quite fit in with the rest of the kooky characters of Pearl Lake.

In this book, Tim relocates to Pearl Lake after a case he is working on goes really wrong. He previously met Evelyn at Ben and Abbi's wedding, but since they didn't exchange any contact information, he hasn't talked to her since then. Once he is back in Pearl Lake, he surprisingly finds out that she is also still in Pearl Lake and sparks fly between the two of them.

This book was just an ok read for me. I didn't really like Evelyn and thought her past was odd. I also think that there was way too much going on in the last couple of chapters, and it came off as just really unbelievable. I still love this series, but they can't all be winners, so I will just sit back and wait for the next installment in the series.

Uninvited Guest

Evelyn married into privilege and was dumped for a 20 year old replacement! She gets the idea that she's going to pretend to be a long lost cousin of a celebrity and invites herself to a wedding. Her wishes to find a new man to care for her seem to start slipping through the cracks. That is until she bumps into Tim and he ends up falling face first into her....lady bits. They get interrupted later on in the barn so he tells her to sneak away. Tim goes home back to work and it ends in tragedy. He quits his job and moves to Pearl Lake to be around friends and ends up finding that she hasn't left. He sets out to win her over. Will love win or will the promise of money make her go back to England??

This book will leave you smiling!

First things first, this book was amazing! It takes place in Ontario, and Pearl Lake, Canada. Attending the wedding of Abbi and Ben, we indulge in Abbi's best friend Tim's story. Tim I would like as a person and can see why he has the lifelong friend's that he does. After a little too much drink, two strangers come together. Tim and a girl, whom he cannot get out of his head. Shame he does not know her name. Will Tim find her?

This book leaves you wanting more....it is delicious! Aquila Thorne has written this series beautifully, fantastic author. This book had me laughing, crying, swooning and will not disappoint. I would definitely recommend book.

How I'd rate:
• Overall - 4/5
• Plot - 4/5
• Characters 4/5
• Spice - 4/5

What I loved:
• Small town
• Close proximity

Tim's Bar turned out to be my favorite book in the series. This book felt more natural and less forced. It was also a little darker and more realistic than the others. Tim and Eve certainly had an interesting and memorable first interaction while she pretended to be someone else and he'd had too much to drink but they recovered well and built themselves a HEA. And I do mean built it. They had to work through actual, relatable problems with Tim's PTSD from his time on the job and Eve's relationship history. I loved that Tim was so convinced she was his dream girl and he shamelessly pursued her, eventually wearing her down and making her love him.

Aquila's Pearl Lake series gets better and better with every story she writes. This is is steamier than the others, and it only enhances the story in the best way possible. That's the thing, this book and this story has a lot of heart. It has a man who's found his one and only, and a girl who is floundering through life. Together they are perfect. This story has me laughing, smiling, swooning and going, "oh no." Evelyn is a klutzy hot mess, and Tim is is a man who knows what he wants. Aquila is an author who has built a world around the Pedersens, Quinns and all of their friends. Love this feel good series. Get it and read it. Enjoy!

This was a very quick DNF like 2 chapters in type DNF. I didn’t like how it was as if some one was telling the story and not the actual story itself. Which this one kind of goes hand in hand because I felt like every other sentence was saying the MFC’s name.

Was a booktok recommendation that flopped.

This book was ok, i was little disappointed, I looked forward to reading it. I seen this advertised all over my feed. I did enjoy the suspense in it, I wanted to scream at Evelyn many times. It caused frustration Tim and Eve certainly had an interesting first meeting but it was just an ok read. With a HEA.

This book has potential to be good. However, events in this book seemed super choppy/did not flow well. I wasn't expecting it to be written as if narrated.

Could not finish this. Written very awkwardly and in 3rd person and first person at the same time. Storyline was all over and overall was a DNF for me.
