Some evil is born—others are made. With the queen presumed dead and a new world on the horizon, the residents of Dark World must now face an uncertain future. Unless all the six scrolls are found and used to reignite the Crystal Pyramid, all the creatures of Dark World will die. Despite newfound love and happiness, Fate’s hunger for souls soon becomes uncontrollable. With no other option, she surrenders to a cure with unknown consequences—only to face an even greater nightmare. As the mystery behind Ever’s condition deepens, Kane is forced to consider what lies beneath—a beauty or a beast. And whether or not to slay the monster before it wakes.
Wow what a clifffy of an ending to another amazing story written by Danielle. Great storyline and wonderfully written.
This is the second book in the Dark World Series written by author Danielle Q. Lee. This book starts where Dark World book 1 finishes. During this edition we see glimpses of Scarlett's family in the world above as they try to determine what happened to Scarlett. Kane is trying to find the ancient scrolls so that he can fix the Crystal Pyramid. And Fate(Scarlett) trains to learn how to control her Shade form.
So much had changed, yet what remained of her soul was untainted, as glorious as the day she was born human. She only hoped she could keep it that way. The pain, the hunger, the temptation she endured day after day, minute after minute, threatened to consume her at every turn. - Fate(Scarlett), The Devil Inside.
I absolutely loved this book! when i got toward the end, I just couldn't believe that i have to wait for the next one to come out! i want to know what happens NOW!!! However, I will faithfully wait until the third one is written. I really love the adventure and intrigue that is woven throughout the book. And of course a little love story never hurt. :) It was an amazing sequel to "Dark world" and I give props to Miss Danielle! Loved it!
Totally captivating, each chapter left you on edge & the following chapter was a different point of view which keeps you racing through to find out if they made it out of peril.. I loved it & can't wait for the next book!
Still loving this reread. I only rated it 4 stars because it lost me for a bit cuz I didn’t want to read it for a bit, but I got back into it. It’s been almost 7 years since I read it for the first time and I forgot a lot of details. The end of this book was such a plot twist that I completely forgot about it. It was awesome to experience this book again for the first time.
