(Book 3 of the Bruised Series)

Baltimore Detective Lisa Swanson is stunned when Detective Winston Lewis informs her that Devon Barnes, a young man stabbed to death in a park, had her name and number in his phone. Lisa insists she never met or heard of Devon and has no idea why he would have her information.

As Winston investigates, he has an eerie feeling that Lisa’s information being in Devon’s phone connects to his murder as well as a belief that Lisa might be hiding something. Lisa remains adamant that she does not know Barnes, but when her fingerprints show up on the knife used in Devon’s murder, Winston finds himself choosing between his feelings for her and doing his duty as a police officer. Pushed into a corner, Winston arrests Lisa for Devon’s murder.

After Lisa makes bail, she teams up with Winston to find out how and why the evidence points to her as Devon’s killer. The investigation leads to Lisa questioning someone from her past who not only could have the answers to her questions, but could also be the reason for her recent nightmare.

From my previous review I expressed my dislike for Winston ....well I still dislike that moron. What a persistent POS .

''I’ m so mad I can’ t see straight. You can’ t move in with Jake.”''
''How dare you keep pretending that you
don’ t have feelings for me, and how dare you keep acting like my feelings don’ t matter? ” To be fair they don't because you knew she was in a relationship but you still had to butt in and not respect her relationship.
''My heart won’ t let me.''

after all that I was like

Anyway the guy really is annoying and is unlikeable. What I didn't expect is to dislike Lisa.
Girlfriend was annoying through out the book. Not only with the Winston thing but she was disrespectful to Jake when she knew she was wrong. Most of the book I was like

description

I mean when she was speaking with Winston and she was like ''Jake needs me'' I am like no don't be with Jake because you are feeling sorry for him.

description

Dee applause for my girl when she told Lisa some truth girlfriend was like

me too girl me too got no time for BS
After telling her the truth and telling how wrong she was I was like

felt so proud.

Lisa was being selfish and she was making excuses. She was with one man but thinking about the other. The whole time its about her what she wants. I don't care about Winston so

description

whatever to him but Jake didn't deserve it.
That is cheating and it is called emotional affair and she also kissed Winston even though she was in a relationship with Jake.

My Jake what a man. ''I won't be a fool for you''
description

Yes you won't be Jake you know what you deserve and if Lisa doesn't love you no matter how it hurts you will let her go as you did. Unlike loser Winston that is persistent when his been told repeatedly she doesn't want him even at the end its all about him.

And maybe if I take this advice it could happen

I do love the suspense part in her books, Stacy strength is in suspense.

PS:After reading this book I feel Jake deserves better than Lisa, he is an amazing guy that has faced his own demons and does not need a woman that can't make her damn mind and allows some loser to kiss her. Dee and him would suit one other. She is strong and knows wrong from right just my opinion can't wait for the fourth book hopefully more Jake less Winston and my love for Lisa will come back

What???

First of all, why are these black female detectives made out to read like idiots? Secondly, why is Lisa written as a weak woman in every aspect of her life? Was this trilogy/series written by a white person? It makes no sense....

Heading: Who Did It?

The gang is together again in Stacy-Deanne’s Disturbed, the third installment in the Bruised series. Detective Winston Lewis is not a stranger to investigating a crime and using the evidence to make an arrest. Winston is a detective first and foremost, so doing his job correctly is tested when the evidence points at a friend and fellow detective. The thing that makes it worse, Winston has some feelings building up toward Detective Lisa Swanson, the suspect of murder. The problem for the two of them is more than just the investigation, Jake, Lisa’s boyfriend might have an issue with Winston pining over his woman. Can Winston control himself and respect Lisa and Jake’s relationship?

Lisa cannot believe what is happening to her. She knows she did not kill Devon Barnes, but she did not know who was out to get her. While trying to fight for her freedom, she is battling with Winston’s advancement. She tries talking to her best friend, Detective Dee Quarter, but something is bothering Dee and she is snappy. Then Lisa has Jake ready and wanting to take their relationship to next level. With so much going on in her life, will Lisa be able to keep her sanity?

Disturbed is an interracial, romantic suspense. The entire series is filled with crime and romance that brings additional tension to the story. Stacy-Deanne has a way with her characters. They battle with real-life hardships and still try to stay professional and focused. There were a few editing mistakes; however it did not take away from the story. I recommend this quick read to anyone looking an e-book mystery romance.

I received a .pdf copy of the book for review purposes.

Another okay story. The actual who done it was really good even though I had it figured to be who it was when the detectives first spoke to the individual. I still can't wrap my head around or get caught-up in Lisa's character. She has got to be the dumbest detective I have ever read about in the many books I have read. And I loved a good mystery and who done it story. I really enjoy them when I can't figure it out until the end. Hopefully she grows more of a backbone in the last book in this series. I liked Dee's character a little more in this book. She really laid into Lisa about her selfishness in stringing two men along.

You did it again Stacy

Great part 3 a must read.Lisa is in a tug of war with her feelings. Det. Winston isn't giving up his pursuit of her. With a new case and Lisa now a suspect things get tricky. Dee is in her feelings about Winston pursing Lisa while she secretly hoping he looks at her the same way. Jake is tired of the flirting Winston does with Lisa. Lisa now dealing with her feelings for Winston, finally decides wether it's worth it while trying to clear her name. Lisa finally faces Mason. Can't wait for book 4

Exasperating

Book one and book two of the bruised series are great.

Lisa is a loose cannon, she goes around accusing all of the wrong people for crimes that, they did not commit.
And poor Jake, will Lisa keep him? Darn that Winton. Lisa should not be with Winston, because there are so many women that he can have and, he will take one of them, eventually.

A great read though, looking forward to book 4.

Lisa is back on another case and this time the victim's death hits close to home. When her name and number shows up in a victim's phone, the investigation becomes personal. Not only is she trying to solve a case, she has some personal issues going on. Will this case change her life forever? I'm really enjoying this series and look forward to Entangled.
