'NLV' (the nickname for 'New Las Vegas') is the province where dreams are made but more often shattered into a million bits, a place of temptation beyond the wildest fantasies of human indulgence, a place of sin, a place of avarice, a place of lust, a place of sensual science and technology taken to its wickedest extremes, and a place where the very fabric of what makes us human is torn apart and resewn into a pale façade of Babylonian extents.
Set in the year 2054 in the largest most powerful city on Earth, NLV is a wild and dark glimpse into humankind’s future. The stories held within these chapters and volumes revolve around people ordinary and extraordinary. People who struggle to survive, keep their sanity, and maintain their last shreds of humanity in an ever-changing world ruled by endless entertainment, mountains of money, ruthless power, and rampant technology.
'Chapter One – The House Always Wins – Part I' kicks things off in grand style as the world’s most feared terrorist, Ushwan Hollerman, manages to assume control of the largest and most depraved brothel on Earth, known as 'The Pleasure Dome'. It is the dark sexual soul of NLV that clandestinely controls half the city.
High atop The Dome (as the NLV denizens call it) is the man in charge, Niles Bennett. A coldblooded businessman who moved mountains (of money and politics, and of rock and stone) to build NLV. Now he stands to lose his legacy and his life.
And yet one man, Nick Bello (they call him 'The Dragon'), a cop with a huge past, speeds his way towards The Dome not to save Bennett but his International Sex Unionist half-sister Pam, and to exact revenge on Hollerman for the horrors inflicted upon him—one in particular that has haunted Bello for years.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town the woman who controls the other half of NLV, Madame Jacqueline Bovart, watches and waits for the tempest that will ensue. And yet, her time may also be at hand as forces beyond her control plan to take her out.
Prepare yourself for a wild ride that will thrill the hell out of you, turn you on, and make you freakin’ crazy!
